Auto Glass
I turns out the 2009 Chevy Malibu's front door windows are made from the same type of bonded glass as windshields. The plus of this-In a parking lot the window shattered when a SUV opened the door and its mirror hit the glass. The glass shattered but the glass did not fall apart. I was able to drive the car, the window itself had no problems being raised and lowered but you were looking through shattered glass when driving.
I called all around within a 6 municipality area and discovered the price of replacing a bonded side window was surprisingly high, $600-$800. I called my insurance company and they gave me a list of company's who replaced window. The last place I called was Ziebart, they are not exactly known for glass replacement. Honestly, I thought I was given the number by mistake.
I was very surprised when I contacted Ziebart and they confirmed they replace the glass in the door window and the price I was quoted was half the price of others. I realized the price quoted was probably not for the bonded glass. When I mentioned this, the man checked and verified that the window was factory installed as bonded and the price quoted was just for safety glass.
I talked with the gentleman about the differences in the windows and the cost, he was very informative and answered my questions in a way that I could understand. He checked the price for the bonded window and voiced his surprise at the actually recommended price difference. He checked the difference for his cost and notified me that he thought the recommended doubled price was extraordinary due to the actual cost differences he was paying for the window.
He adjusted the price to one he saw as fair, ordered the window, called me immediately when it arrived and replaced the window while I waited. The service, honesty, cleanliness', and personal concern was amazing!
I will be calling them before anyone else if future problems occur and would recommend them to friends, family, and anyone interested in a honest, reliable service.
