Stevenson Transfer Inc

Bill Stevenson came out to our house to do the estimate. We worked with Angie and Lorna in the office. All persons we worked with were courteous. We had questions about how moving costs were calculated etc. and they were very good on responding. Our previous move to the Chicagoland area from out of state was through a corporate relocation mover. Our experience with Stevenson Transfer moving from Chicagoland was better. We opted to move our dishes, clothing, and small items ourselves. Our large items included an upright piano, an entertainment unit, credenza, china hutch, leather couch, armoires, etc. Each item got a bar coded sticker. I have allergies and asthma concerns. I appreciated extra steps taken to ensure a clean trailer and blankets padding the furniture. Our move in January 2019 took up a 53 foot trailer. It was packed up on Day 1. Driven to Ohio on Day 2 and unloaded on Day 3. Stevenson Transfer was on time at both ends of the move. The movers worked hard with minimal breaks. They put everything where I wanted it and were careful not to cause any damage to the houses (had to take a good number of doors off the hinges and then reattach them later). Items were packed well. They did most packing/unpacking in the truck to minimize dust from the pads in the house. Charges were as expected. As a note, there are a number of documents to sign at both ends of the move. There is a standard particle board disclaimer. I would use them again.
