Get Up and Dance DJ Service were there early and set up waiting for the guests to arrive. Music was playing as the guests arrived and waited for the bridal party. As soon as the bridal party arrived, they got them organized to get the introductions and the formalitites (first dance, cutting of the cake, etc.) done in a timely fashion without feeling like you were being rushed. Once the dance floor was opened up to all dancers, it was packed from the first song to the last song. They used good judgement in song requests from guests, as there were young children there. A year later, and guests are still saying that it was one of the most fun receptions they have been to, and we (my husband and I), attribute that to the DJ service. In addition, the manager of the hall asked the DJ service for business cards to give to potential clients, cause they believe Get Up and Dance DJ Service is the best they have heard or worked with.

Get up and dance, Jane and Rod are the epitome of professionals. From the moment we contacted them to DJ our wedding right down to the wedding itself. Not only did Jane and Rod provide the reception music, my husband and I were Janes first couple that she joined in marriage. It was extremely special, and I felt such a close connectedness with my husband to be and Jane. Nothing in the world existed beyond the three of us. They did everything possible to make sure that our wedding reception was perfect. The meetings to discuss what kind of music we wanted played for our first dance, father/daughter dance, dinner music, what we DID NOT want played. There was nothing left to question. When we got to our reception they were set up and already playing music. I received many complements from my guests on how great the DJ service was and a few of them even said that they will be booking Get up and dance for their wedding as well. Janes bubbly and infectious personality just makes everyone want to dance. She and Rod have a way of getting people on the floor, as well as leading some of the line dances and really does interact with the guests between their music trivia games and making sure that all the guests requests are played. I loved that they had all the hats for the guests for the YMCA song. That was a huge hit, as well as the blow up guitars for the guitar contest. I can't say enough good things for this company other than I can't imagine my wedding day without them. I actually did plan my wedding reception around their busy schedule because they are so good. I can't thank you enough Jane and Rod for making our day so very very special and being a part of it. We will have many very happy memories thanks to you. This is a truly professional yet personable DJ service. From the time you book the service, they are helping you plan your event. They have a consultation meeting in their home where they serve a homemade dessert, help you pick the music if you need ideas, and have you develop a playlist and a do not playlist. They will also help you with some basic dance lessons for that first dance.
The day of the event, they help in any manner needed. They are a complete service, from performing the service, providing music for the service, DJing the reception (even with props for some songs), doing a quick mend on wedding party clothing, to cutting the cake. If you need something, they are there to make this day a beautiful and stress-free day! They are more than just a DJ, they are wedding planners too!

On the night of the event, they were completely setup and waiting for the wedding party to arrive. The evening could not have been better. We didn't have to worry about the first dance, parent's dance, cake cutting, and other such events as they handled it all professionally. These parts of the evening were seamless. It was such a relief to us as the couple. The evening was fun as it was suppose to be. It was actually a BLAST. They played all types of music, which entertained all the ages at the reception. It was wonderful. We had blow up guitars, props for YMCA, and just had a great time. I would highly recommend the Get Up and Dance DJ service to everyone. Thank you to Rodney and Jane for making our night special, fun, and a night to remember.

I was trying to sew a wedding dress and could not get the bodice to fit properly no matter how hard I tried. I called Jane Schomas for advice since she has done dress alterations for me in the past. I explained my problem, and she told me to bring the dress to her the next day, and she would help me to figure it out. When my client and I arrived at Jane's house, she had my client put on the dress. Jane used straight pins to adjust the bodice. She figured out that the dress was too big in the shoulders, so all of the bodice darts were falling in the wrong places as a result. Because of her expertise, I was able to make the necessary adjustments and avoid remaking the entire bodice. My client's $180 piece of lace was able to be salvaged from the original bodice, and I was able to save a lot of time and resources. Jane was professional, efficient, and pleasant to be around. I have been satisfied with my past experiences with Jane, and she did not disappoint me this time. I will definitely choose to work with her again in the future.

Overall, I have been to multiple receptions and dance events that this dj service has been involved with. They are always professional, punctual, and very personable. I would hire them for ANY occasion I was having. My friend even told me that they even have you come over and meet them in person before the event to go over details, music, and any special moments that may happen through out the night. They are wonderful and want you to have the best experience possible! Don't let the other review fool you, they are none of those things! Facebook and references can prove that to you!

Overall, Id say they ruined most of the night. Between Janes aggressive behavior and all the problems we had with them, everyone was talking about how it was the worst DJ they had ever seen/heard. Don't be fooled when you meet them, of their promising you anything you want, it wont happen, I guarantee it!

"The bride in this review failed to mention that the event was outdoors on a day that had seen 4 inches of rain the previous evening, and a temp of 63 degrees. The tents did not have sides, and the brisk breeze made it very cold. By 10 PM, there were less than 20 guests remaining at the event. The dance floor wasn't under a tent, and was covered with dew, making it very slippery. No one had danced since 9 PM. We were on the dance floor twice, but when I fell it seemed like a risk to my well being, and we decided not to go out again. We did play every song on the bride's play list, and the majority of the songs on her mother's playlist. We also played EVERY song that was requested by the guests. I approached the bride at 10 :15 PM to discuss an end time, which is usually 11 PM. Because there were only 20 people left, that seemed fair. There was no yelling involved. I am a professional. We did stay until midnight, for the 10 remaining people. We then loaded all the equipment onto a golf cart (7 trips) to load the van, as we did not want to damage her father's lawn, having heard that they were going to sue the caterer for making a rut in the grass. As far as being fed at an event, that is part of the contract. We are at an event for at least 8 hours. If you would like us to bring a cooler and pack a lunch, we can do that. But I can only think that that would reflect back on the bride and groom in a rather unfavorable manner. As vendors, we deserve to treated properly. This was an unfortunate event. We have provided music for weddings since 1995, and have never had to deal with issues such as these in that time. I wish the bride and groom a happy marriage, and a good life. And pray that we will continue to enjoy a job that we love. pm"
