It was based on a contract with the Townhome Owner's Association. They voted to pick and choose who they wanted. I said, "The guy who you're contracting has no reviews whatsoever. Apparently, he is new to the game," and they contracted with him. With Townhome Owner's Association board members, there's a lot of cronyism and politicking going on. For all I know, he is a brother-in-law to one of the members. They gave him the contract based on you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours type thing. On top of it, they quoted us a price, for every unit, of some $5,000 and when they started doing the work, they upped it by $3,000, to almost $8,000 a unit, without ever informing us. Ours was the very last unit to be done. They had these guys up there in 20°. It was 20° out there and they're roofing in 20°. The shingles they were using were lifetime guaranteed. I called the roofing company and they said, "Based on them installing the shingles in anything below 40°, we will not warranty it whatsoever." So, he, basically threw away the warranty because he wanted to get the project done before winter. He assured me that if there were any issues he would take care of it. I said, "I'm going to need that on paper and a copy sent to the board as well," which he did. He shouldn't have done it. He should have waited. I thought the price was exorbitant. They should not have installed the roof and completely negate a life time warranty. There has been no problems with them. But, they did something against the company policy who provided the product and they knew about it. They were informed. I would tell a friend to look elsewhere. There are other companies which are cheaper or equal in price that have all positive reviews by way of Better Business Bureau, by way of things like Yelp, by way of Angie's List, by way of HomeAdvisor and even by way of Yellow Pages. I looked everywhere and there were no references whatsoever for this company. So, how they contracted with this guy, I don't know.
