Mr. Meek was hired to inspect a home we were purchasing.  We were not satisfied with his work at all!  Below are only some of the problems we encountered that were supposedly inspected by Mr. Meek:  1) We were told that damage to an upstairs bedroom ceiling was due to a leak in the roof and suggested that we hire a roofer to fix the flashing.  After closing, as recommended, we hired a roofer to repair the flashing, then hired a contractor to replace and paint the damaged drywall on the bedroom ceiling.  The leak came back.  After having other professionals look at the ceiling, it was determined that it was NOT the roof, but the leak was obviously coming from the window...something the other professionals thought the inspector should have known!  We will have to hire another professional to correct the problem AND fix the ceiling...AGAIN.  2) We were told by Mr. Meek that the furnace was in good working condition and that it should last at least several years.  Shortly after moving in, I called a HVAC company because we noticed that a pipe going from the furnace was cut off and exhausting into the basement (which was not noticed by the inspector.) The HVAC person we called had actually serviced our furnace for the previous owner and told us that he recommended to the previous owner that it should be replaced as it was in terrible condition.  The serviceman showed us some of the furnace problems.  After doing more research, we found his assessment to be true and had to replace the furnace. 3) The inspector noticed some "common typical minor cracks" on the basement walls.  He told us that he didn't think they were a problem, but some people have them filled.  The day we moved it, the cracks in the basement were leaking and we had to hire another contractor to correct this problem.  4)  Mr. Meek did not notice that there were exposed live wires coming up into the island cabinets from the basement.  We hired another individual to remedy this issue.  5)  Mr. Meek did not notice that upon flushing the powder room toilet that water flooded around the toilet, making that toilet unusable until we had that corrected by yet ANOTHER contractor!   Anything he "found" when inspecting our house, we could have found ourselves. If he would have known about even SOME of these problems with this house (that he should have caught) we would NOT have purchased this home!  We feel that the entire $425 fee was a complete waste of money.
