Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the cabinet cannot provide a replacement drawer only -- each cabinet is built for each order; they do not keep stock of any parts or pieces. I would need to purchase an entirely new cabinet.
We did not yet move into the house until about 2 months after the bathroom debacle due to other renovations. 2 weeks after moving into our home, I noticed quite a few subway tiles had cracks running horizontally through them -- in numerous locations within the shower. I contacted R Brand, they came out to make the repairs while I was at work. R Brand did not request I be there to inspect repair work nor did I think I had to be since their work the first time around was satisfactory. They did however, need help locating the extra tiles we had purchased and they stored after they installed tile the first time -- not sure why we were never informed of whereabouts of the extra tile however. I never received a follow up call from them asking about satisfaction or explaining what they did. After a week or so I noticed an area of repair that didn't look right to me -- it looked like it "dipped" in or was sunken compared to the rest of the tile around it. I also asked many friends to view it and tell me what they saw prior to contacting R Brand (to make sure I wasn't seeing something that was normal on tile jobs) -- one being a friend that works selling tiles and is extremely familiar with installation. They could all see the "dip" in that particular area. It looked like a first time do-it-yourself project not a professional tile installation. No one that looked at it would have been happy with it in their own home. I then attempted contacting R Brand to discuss. I received one text saying they were out of town and would contact me when they returned. No further contact was received from them. I made more attempts to contact them to discuss the issue both by text and voice mail; I received no reply until today after I sent yet another text asking them to contact me regarding the tile in the bathroom -- 2 months after 1st contact was made. They refuse to repair it further and are "finished with working at your home". They stated they are "done spending time and money at your home when you won't be ever completely satisfied". Funny, they never contacted me to find out what the issue was in the first place so who can they even know if i am satisfiable or not?
My husband called Mike @ R Brand to discuss and was told by Mike that "I am too picky. I should have picked different tile if I wanted it to look better. I should have been there when they did the repair work." They also said they "are not in the job of repairing their work".
1. I am not a tile installation professional. Nor do I claim to be. I am a homeowner who was getting a "dream" bathroom (still very simple/basic) in a "new" house and expected a professional to do work that would look professional.
2. If they had asked me to be present when they did the repair work, I would have been. I did not know it was necessary. I wasn't asked and wasn't called afterwards for follow-up.
3. I was never given information about the downfall of choosing subway tile -- if I had been, I wouldn't have expected superior quality, or I would have done the tile work myself and lived with imperfections but avoided paying thousands of dollars for imperfection. Or, I would have picked a different tile. Simple.
4. They don't repair their own work? This means they don't provide warranties to customers on tile work? They don't guarantee the work they do? What kind of business do they expect to have with attitudes like that?
5. I am too picky? What???!!! Isn't it my house that I hired them to work in? Isn't it their job to do what I hired them for? Isn't it their job to stand behind their work and ensure I am satisfied with said work?
I don't know if this is how they conduct business on a daily basis or not, but I would be very careful if hiring them. They seem to want to do things their way only without any regard for customer satisfaction. Their communication is very unprofessional and almost non-existent. When they make a mistake they are not willing to correct it to the customer's satisfaction. Not a company I want to have at my home ever again. Nor should you.
"This review is not who R Brand Homes, Inc. is and really not who they are. We did quite a bit of work at their new residence and all went rather well. (New windows & door installs, 2-bedrooms & wood floor installation) We dealt primarily with the husband and Member’s projects were always left entirely to her. We felt awful when the cabinet was hacked up and did everything we could to resolve the unfortunate situation. We dealt with both husband and Member and understood that the issue was resolved when they accepted our repair and we agreed to pay for ½ of the vanity. Note: we no longer use this plumber. When R Brand Homes, Inc. was made aware of cracked tile we were told that the Member would be there to ok the completed repair. The repair was scheduled and the Member informed us that her sons would be there because she had to work. By the Member’s own admission, "I was never given information about the downfall of choosing subway tile -- if I had been, I wouldn't have expected superior quality, or I would have done the tile work myself and lived with imperfections but avoided paying thousands of dollars for imperfection. Or, I would have picked a different tile. Simple." We replaced not only the cracked tiles but we crippled the existing studs and added new underlayment beneath to ensure a non-reoccurrence. The Member had told us earlier that this was not her dream bathroom and that she would get what she wanted when they put on an addition. We believed that no matter how much more time and money we spent she would never be satisfied. As in every situation there are two sides to every story and somewhere in between is the truth. R Brand Homes, Inc. has been in business for 2 years and as a new business this write up could be devastating. We have over 200 satisfied customers in 2 years. We learn every day on ways to improve our business. When you are threatened with “I will ruin you!” I guess this is a way to do it. We strive for customer satisfaction and do everything we can to make that happen. In this case, it became apparent that we may never accomplish that goal. I only hope that people see through this and know that there are good contractors out there and R Brand Homes, Inc. is one of them."
