Have to give credit where it's due and share my experience with Steve at Midwest Auto Tops Inc today. Had a problematic sunroof that would only slide back a "less than ideal" 3 inches. Called these guys and they said I could swing by immediately for a diagnostic. Might have been good timing on my part but kudos to them for this convenience either way. Absolute WORST case scenario was determined to be $700-$800 for a new sunroof. Thankfully however, through some mechanical sorcery and frankly just **** good honest service, Steve managed to: reset the timing, bend some of the metal framing back to normal and discovered a broken piece of plastic also hindering function... ALL IN ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF! Boom! Fully functional again. And EXTREMELY reasonable cost. (Don't want to post those kind of specifics publicly) It's an odd job that I've discovered many places don't deal with anymore, these guys are a needle in the proverbial haystack! Thanks Steve!

Repaired interior rear passenger panel that was damaged and torn. Replaced damaged material, filled and clean chips in plastic parts.

It was a slow process but went very well.

Replaced a shattered sunroof with used OEM glass and replaced some damaged hardware. The dealer quoted $2,057. I think that the dealer was going to replace everything with new (?). It works perfectly, like new. Repaired it same day as glass arrived. Very happy with quality and price.

I took the race car to Jason, and this is a very professional family business, the grand father was there along with the father and the son all working together, It reminds me of our family farm. We picked out the real leather and had a picture of what the interior looked like in 1947 and they coped it perfectly. I could not have found anyone to do a better job. They take pride in their work and are truly great people to be around. If I could add a picture of the job, it would speak for itself.

My new motorcylce was a bit too tall for me, so my bike shop recommended I get the seat shaved down first before I did any other adjustments to the bike. Everything about my experience with Midwest Auto Tops and Upholstery Inc. was nothing short of amazing. Their customer service (unlike many other custom shops) was fantastic. I took the bike over to the shop and worked with Jason, who was extremely personable and knowledgeable. He was detailed and thorough about my options. We agreed to shave the seat down and put gel inserts for comfort. He also stated that we could use the existing seat material, which was great. Their receptionist called me to tell me the bike was ready for a fitting. I did 2 total fittings because they wanted it to be right for me. I picked the bike up a few days later with my dad. I tried it on for size, and it was perfect. Totally, a professional job. They were so nice that they showed my dad around the shop so he could see the other custom projects they were working on.

You just don't find this level of expertise and customer service these days. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that has a custom project.

They recommended using a vinyl to save on cost. Excellent advice! You could never tell there was ever a repair, much less that it was repaired using vinyl! Very happy with the job and the customer service. Highly recommend!!

I had called two other auto upholstery rebuilding services that I had used before. Their prices seemed very high. It was explained to me that much of the work was in removing the seat and reinstalling it so that it could be worked on. I contacted Angie list to try to find some other alternatives since there isn't a category for auto upholstery. They responded within a day with 4 other companies. I called the one that seemed closest to me. They were by far the lowest cost and seemed the most friendly. Rather than showing them the car and getting a more accurate estimate, I instead just made an appointment to have the work done. While I was there, I asked what they might suggest to deal with the back of the seat for lumbar support. In addition to suggesting that they could custom build a lumbar support with foam for my back, they also offered to install an inflatable lumbar support. They called back confirming the estimate that they had given me earlier and completed the work the same day. Unlike the other companies, they are open Saturdays so I was able to pick-up the car the next day and avoid rush hour traffic.

The work done was top notch. The seat looks brand new. The put in new leather where all of the wear was. Thrilled to pieces with the work. I have used them before on boat work and I am very happy with all the work they have done for me.
