Lawn Funeral Home was established in 1962. Founding owner Donald Jarka Sr. opened at the present location at 79th Street & State Rd. In 1989 a new location at 7732 W. 159th Street was started. The Funeral Home is still owned and operated by the Jarka Family.

Funeral Homes
The initial meeting with the funeral director went poorly as the focus was primarily centered on the financial part of the wake. We were all in a state of shock loosing our loved one and this seemed cold. We had to return with a check in hand in order to proceed with the planning of the event. Once we were able to start planning, everything went fine. The director was professional and we had no complaints. In fact it turned out to be quite nice.

Funeral Homes
They were very professional and accommodating. It was a traumatic period and there was never any pressure especially on payments. They just asked us to pay them whatever we can. They were very nice especially in that area. My mother-in-law had a very bad experience with another funeral home when my father-in-law died. They were handing my mother-in-law the bill at the funeral. But with Lawn Funeral Home, it turned out very well. Everything was fine and we could not have asked for better. They are a family operation and I would certainly recommend them to anybody.
