Two weeks after the sit down meeting, we did not hear anything from Mark. I called him to discuss whether we were still on schedule and next steps. He called me 2 days later to say that he could no longer do the project. I asked him for a reason and he was unwilling to provide a good reason. I feel that not only pulling out of the job after hands were shook, but to also not provide a good reason is completely unprofessional. This has left us in a bind because we told the other companies who were interested that we were not going to be working with them. So we are 2 steps back now. Also we are getting late in the building season and now have to scramble or wait for next season. Mark claimed that this was the second time in 20 years that he has had to pull out. But if he has been in the business for 20 years, he would not get him into a situation where he needs to pull out. Bottom line is Mark's handshake and word are not trustworthy.
Description of Work: We bid out a front porch (wrap-around) project. Deakonhaus was invited to bid and was selected for the project over 2 other bidders Once selected we had a sit-down meeting at our house with Mark from Deakonhaus and our architect to go over any questions, clarifications and discuss next steps. Mark told us he could begin in a few weeks and we shook hands.
