Didn't call until three days later - dropped off Monday, they called late Wed afternoon, then not completed until the following week for an estimated 2 hour job. When the laptop was returned, they had forgotten to save the Favorites file, but did keep the email files, photos, and other documentation. Called to see if there was somewhere I missed looking for the bookmark file to reload it, but never received a return call from Dave after two days(3 attempts - 2 the first day and the third the next morning - no response), so just started to manually reload. The company was well recommended on Angies List, but execution was poor in this instance;
After speaking with the people whi finally called after making a report on Angie List, Dave finally called; No explanation for not returning any of my calls previously, just that he always gets his messages; As to the missing favorites file - Dave explained that the info was limited on my Mozilla Firefox folder, but everything that had been there, was again located there. Only one, actually three problems; 1) The primary was Internet Explorer and all the favories located there; 2) Firefox was my back-upand really didn't have anything on it in the first place 3) If I don't get a call back, then I don't know that they keep a copy and spent the time and rebuilt a new Favorites file from my other computer.
It still comes down to communication and execution; He basically made it worse trying to explain it, than just leaving it alone.

"He brought his computer in on Monday 6/6/2011, he explained to me that the computer was running slow and he would like it cleaned up. My response to him was our turnaround time is 1-2 days. On Wednesday we called him to tell him after multiple cleanup attempts, we have determined that the operating system is corrupt and it will need to be reformatted (This means that we ask what data needs to be backed up and we reinstalled the operating system, device drivers, all security updates and the latest service packs. We also install a free antivirus program. ) We also informed him that we can’t back up programs like Microsoft Office and his printer and he would have to install them. He completely understood. We restored his data and completed the process. We called on Monday 6/13/2011 to tell him computer is complete. We do not work on weekends . We took two days to finish reformatting and restoring his computer. We charged him 2 hrs. @ $65 ($130). We clearly had over 6 hours of work on his computer. Unfortunately, when we reformat a computer we have to get all updates and devices drivers from the appropriate websites and depending how large the files are the process is very time consuming. As for his favorites, we keep a copy of all files we back up for a short time in case a file is not restored properly. We checked our backups and there were no favorites, if there is not a favorites folder, that usually means there were are no favorites to back up. Unfortunately, there is no way to prove if there was favorites at that time. I talked to him and explained how to recreate the favorites. All of his other data was backed up and no problems."
