American Beam and Steel

Mark and Jim are the most professional contractors I have worked with. Our older home had sagging floors because the house was not built to today's codes. American Beam and Steel took our engineer's blueprint and added the additional steel beams needed provide the correct support for our house. They provided excellent communication from start to finish in person, over the phone, e-mails and kept a log with digital photos. I highly recommend their services to everyone.

Mark, from American Beam and Steel proved to be very knowledgeable of the process, and professional in his method. He gave me an excellent price, a very good contract with very specific goals and terms, ALL OF WHICH WERE MET AS PROMISED. THIS COMPANY WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY NEW BEAM (AND JOISTS ) THAT WAS REPLACED.

Exceeded expectations from the first call. We had sudden damage to our home due to a falling tree and had a large portion of our roof open to the elements and attic beams/rafters/framing severely damaged. Mark contacted us immediately and was able to give us a quote very quickly, as he understood the nature of the damage and what further damaging effects were possible (pests, rodents, rain) by having a large section of our home damaged. All communications were always timely and very thorough; in fact, I don't remember even leaving a voicemail because my call was always answered. We felt like our concerns and needs were being listened to and were never rushed or hassled with anything. Mark and his team went above and beyond in acquiring village permits and communicating not only with us, but with our other contractors as well. Communicating with our other contractors, in itself, was huge - at such a difficult time, it would have been much worse to have been the "middleman" between contractors, but that was never expected or requested of us, and it took a lot of pressure off. In fact, my roofing contractor, who I have a great respect for, told me that he had already begun referring his clients to American Beam and Steel after one call with Mark. On the day they were scheduled to do the repairs to our home, the team showed up on time/early and had everything they needed to get it all done, and did. No added extras, no gimmicks, no last-minute surprises. The quality of the work was outstanding and is backed by a warranty. We were treated as friends and spoken to with respect by the whole team. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them.

The job was done excellently, and each step was described so that I would understand why specific work needed to be performed. This really helped with understanding the cost breakdown. The job was done within a week (one day for cutting and pouring the concrete, 2 for letting it dry, and one day for installing the structural beam). It was excellent, and I will be using this service again for any other framing needs.

Mark came out to evaluate and give an estimate and was friendly, thorough, and informative. He displayed a greater knowledge and capacity for the work then the other estimates we'd gotten, so I chose ABS to perform the work and am very glad I did. Mark came out with the team (I'm always happy when the person making the estimate is also there to perform the work) on time and they got straight to work. Everyone was courteous and respectful of the house, and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Afterwards Mark and I went into the crawlspace so he could show me what they'd done, and even went the extra mile in explaining the characteristics of the crawlspace and how to ensure it stays dry and free of cracking. I've had a lot of work done on houses over the years, and Mark and his team are among the best I've ever hired. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat.
