Fast response, friendly service, quality repair... thanks again

I called these people and talked to Patti and told her the overhead doors didn't open when I punched in the code. She asked me several questions and had me check a couple things while she stayed on the line. Turns out all I needed was a new 9-volt battery in the key pad. I may have felt stupid for a couple minutes but after that I felt fantastic because Patti, by means of patience and simple good will... saved me a bunch of money and further frustration with our overhead doors. I will never call any other business than this one for overhead door issues. Wow, an honest company and one with a lovely lady handling the office.

It went great. They finished it in less than an hour.

Great, they were very helpful and friendly. They got me taken care of quickly and for less than they estimated. I had used them many years ago on my previous home and I'm glad I chose them again. If I have any problems in the future I would definitely use them again.

We called in the morning, and they were able to come the very next day. They followed my directions to call when they were on their way, and came within the window that their scheduler had given me. They were very professional while they were here.

Vendor installed the overhead doors when the house was built.   When a spring on the one overhead doors broke, I called them first.
Took them a couple of days to show up.  Once they were here, a new spring was installed promptly.
Later, in the mail, I received an un-itemized bill, which was a lot higher than I expected it to be.  I contacted the office to make sure the bill was correct, and was assured that it was.  I requested an itemized bill, and was told I couldn't have one.... as they didn't provide itemized bills.  
After asking multiple times over the next few weeks for an itemized bill, I was finally provided a basic list of materials that had been installed at my house.   It included TWO springs, instead of one.   This finally explained why the bill was higher than I expected.    An itemized bill would have avoided a lot of hassle and confusion.
They should have known that my door only had one spring, as they had installed it when it was new.  For some reason, it was assumed that it had two springs.
I will not be using this firm again, despite that they installed the overhead doors on my house.   I will use another firm in the future.

Had trouble connecting, but once he was on site, he was very friendly, knowledgable, and quick.

I called them and a very friendly woman answered. I talked to them and they came out and gave me an estimate. The guy came out and gave me an estimate and got the old one working for a while. I was impress and happy. They were prompt, honest and caring.

Showed up quickly. Did the job. Everything worked fine.
We've used them before, and have always been happy with their work.

The office staff seemed very unorganized and there was extreme lack of communication on their part.  The repairmen did not arrive on time nor did they call me when they left as they were supposed to.  When I arrived home after the work was supposed to have been completed, I discovered the problem was not fixed.  I had to call the next morning to find out they were coming back that day b/c they didn't have a part they needed the day before.  The next day, the repairmen were again supposed to notify me of their arrival and departure, and again I heard nothing.  I had no idea until I got home whether or not the door would open.  Thankfully it did.

I had a very good experience with Overhead Doors. First of all, when I had a problem with my garage door not shutting properly, I asked two knowledgeable neighbors who to call. Both recommended Overhead Doors. I called, and was promptly given an appointment after explaining the problem. I was told the repairmen would be coming between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the day of service. They arrived around noon on 08/20/2013 and spent a short time diagnosing and then fixing the problem. They explained that the photo eyes (the sensors) had gone bad, possibly because moisture had seeped in. They were finished with the repair in about half an hour and took the time to explain what they had done.
 
The best part was that they did not demand immediate payment from me. They said I'd get a bill in the mail, which I did about a week later. Also, I was able to use my Overhead Doors coupon from Angie's List to get 10% off the labor on the bill! This was a nice little bonus which made me appreciate Angie's List even more!

More recently, I have shared my positive experience with Overhead Doors with friends who were looking for a dependable garage door service repair company.

I rate the experience with this provider a C because they had to be called for a return visit for proper repairs.  First visit:  repairman was dismissive with me - a female homeowner.  He replaced the spring and was gone before I had a chance to inspect the work.  After his departure, we discovered that the spring tension was uneven and the door hung crooked.  I called to question this and the customer service agent reported that the repairman said this was the best repair possible due to the age of our door.  A bill was left in the mailbox.  Second visit:  different repairman, perhaps manager or owner, came out.  He was respectful, and understood the problem immediately.  He spent a fair amount of time adjusting the spring tension until the door closed smoothly.  He also showed me how to properly latch the door so that it closed completely.  No charge for the second visit.
I would use this service again - probably for a replacement door, because of the courtesy and expertise shown by the second repairman.  He was responsive to my concerns about the first repairs, and made sure the job was done properly on his visit.

I had a very positive experience with Champaign-Danville Overhead Doors Inc. We've been happy ever since he fixed the garage door. I like that he was persistent and that he got the job right.

The garage door was jammed and the opener would not work.  .  They made an appointment, came out promptly and replaced the double springs.
