WOLFGANG LOENTZ, Oak Park Piano

I have a 70 year old baby grand, the last time I had the piano taken apart and redone was 17 years ago. My cat got a bag of kitty treats into the piano when the top was up. everything got under the strings and hammers. I called Wolfgang, they came out a week later, and did an excellent job,They had to remove the keyboard, to get inside and under the strings, it seems my cat has been nesting there, because they pulled out a lot of fur, and the dust over the years really accumulated. Everything looked great , and the tuning was perfect, the piano sounds great. Highly recommend them

On the first visit Wolfgang was late, but he did call ahead to let us know he was delayed in traffic. Subsequent visits were punctual. He explained the work thoroughly and there were no surprises in the cost. The regulation work was excellent; the piano's action is like new again. Tuning was good, although there were a couple areas where the voicing wasn't what I hoped for. A squeak in the sustain pedal was corrected, but it returned about a month later. I haven't had him back yet to try fixing it again. He kept the work area very clean, and was generally careful of the household furnishings, but didn't warn us when he needed to stop the door open to carry the action components out. We have a cat who could have slipped out, and the weather was very cold.

Excellent service. Responded very quickly to my request for an appointment and was able to work around my schedule. Arrived on time and was very efficient. Wolfgang provided the tuning as requested and also provided an analysis of future repair needs for my piano (a baby grand over 50 years old.) He sent me a written quote within just a couple of hours so that I can make decisions on next steps for my piano. Would definitely recommend and use again! Thank you.

Mr. Loentz was terrific. My 20-year-old upright Yamaha piano hadn't been tuned in a decade. Mr. Loentz told me at the outset that the piano was in pretty bad shape and would take about an hour and fifteen minutes to tune. True to his word, he was done in just over an hour. Mr. Loentz did a great job, and the piano sounds beautiful. I plan on using Mr. Loentz regularly!

The piano was too old and out of function to spend the money to fix it, my friend was pleased to know and I was happy she had some answers. Mr Leontz was professional and according to her knew what he was talking about I was very pleased with his service

Mr. Loentz arrived on time and was very professional and polite. He fully explained all the work that my piano needed in order to work well. He gave me a detailed estimate for additional work that was required, after having shown me each item he proposed to repair. He will be returning to finish that work. I would recommend his services to any piano owner.

I asked him to check over the entire piano for large defects, flaws or missing pieces since I am considering selling it. He happily did so and then went on to tune the piano which had not been tuned in years. He was able to tune it, but told me that it would need another 1 or 2 tunings because the piano was so badly out of tune. He showed me some of the problems with the hammers (minor) and generally just let me know what he was doing as he went along. If I keep the piano, I would definitely hire him again. He was professional, straight forward and personable. GREAT service!

I contacted Wolfgang to tune my 100+ year old Wurlitzer player piano. I knew from the get go that it had been poorly maintained previous to me owning it and let him know that up front, yet he was still willing to come out to not only do what he could, but also evaluate the condition of the piano. He was professional, courteous and did what he could with the piano and let me know everything that was going on from start to finish. He is a real professional and knows his craft well. I will not only use him in the future, but I would recommend him to anyone who needs work on a piano.

After calling a couple of other tuners in my area that didn't even bother returning my calls, I found Wolfgang through Angie's list and he had an opening the next day. In the future the only call I will make for a piano tuner will be to Wolfgang

We had recently been told an old piano we had inherited was un-tunable by another piano tuner. A friend of ours told us about Wolfgang, a master carpenter and certified piano tuner (associate member of the Piano Technicians Guild) and urged us to give him a try. We called him last Thursday, he came on Tuesday and lo and behold, within three hours we have a piano that seems to be holding it's tune. It's been four days so far. He said we should have it tuned every six months. By doing so, we should have a usable piano for several years. I think the first visit was more expensive because of the additional time needed to diagnose and solve.
