The prices are competitive. I have gone there 8- 10 years. It's been the same vet, he owns it.

It wasn't cheap. We've been using them for a long time. They're probably not the cheapest. They're very responsible, professional and very good with animals. It's a veterinary hospital, staff has been there for a long time. The workers are excellent.

They do a good job. They are very caring and the workers seem like animal lovers. They try to make him feel more comfortable because he always freak out when he goes there.

They are very nice to him and do not look for reasons to get you to pay for extra tests.

She is now four and a half. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They seem rather high in cost, but since I have not taken my dog anywhere else, I can't say for sure. The new office is clean and well maintained. My dog absolutely loves going to Prairie State.

The entire staff was cordial, knowledgeable, and listened carefully to our questions, concerns and thoughts. They accommodated both dogs for the same visit which helps for our scheduling.

Both cats were pronounced in good health though both were said to need teeth pulled due to plaque build up and gum problems. I quizzed Dr. Brancel about the older cat, who will be 18, as her brother had had diabetes, some urinary tract problems and also hyper thyroidism. This 17 year old female, his sister, has never had health problems and the doctor said, "Well, sometimes one cat has different metabolism than another, even from the same litter." He recommended we put them on a senior diet, as that makes it easier for the cat to process their food and prevents extra stress on kidneys (which can create serious problems in older cats.) We have been using Prairie State Animal Hospital for probably 10 years or so and have been very happy with the staff, the vets, the service and the care. We were very pleased that they both seemed in good health and were not too thin. We have had this vet perform surgeries on a dog, teeth cleaning on cats, treat illness on cats with medication and have animals humanely euthenized. His dog, Luther, is the animal hospital's resident dog and is friendly - but not overly so - to everyone. His office management and technicians are all professional, friendly and highly skilled. I would recommend Dr. Brancel and his practice to anyone needing a veterinarian for any pet, as he owns both cats and dogs.

I have three cats -- different ages, different sizes, different temperaments -- and Dr. Brancl has been wise and gentle with all three of them. Yes, his website is almost exclusively canine, and there's even an office dog who greets you at the door, but he knows felines, too. One of my cats is due for shots and there's no one else in town I even consider taking him to. It's easy to get an appointment, the staff is friendly and considerate, and Dr. Brancl himself is refreshingly free of bias toward the pet foods he retails. He's a wee bit more expensive than I expected, but that could be because I'm always surprised by how much veterinary costs. His practice provides compassion, cleanliness and quality, so I don't let the cost deter me.

I spent between $200 and $300. I really like the people who work there. It is close to where I live and their prices are pretty reasonable.

The surgery went well - the dog was barely groggy and mostly from the Elizabethan collar (he couldn't see). The wound was not dressed (due to the collar) and the stitches were even and the wound tightly closed. There was never any sign of infection and the dog did not seem uncomfortable. Dr. Brancel was kind in delivering the news to us about the prognosis, mentioning that our Shepherd mix was 13 and had a wonderful home with us (he was a shelter dog) and that we would know when it was time to say goodbye. As an aside, every time we've d\gone in to Prairie State other clients too have expressed how much they appreciate this veterinary practice. I also heard it from a little birdie that this vet does pro bono work at one of the local animqal shelters.

It went very well, my only complaint was that I tried to use an online "Pet Meds" pharmacy and was charged a fee by the vet as part of the transaction with the online site (perscription fee?). I had a great experience and will continue to use them, but I felt a little put off by that. I have since learned that this is a common practice for non over the counter pet medications..still not happy about it though. Again...great service otherwise, feel that my dog is in good hands there.

We have been going to them for a while. We keep going back to them because of the friendly service and the fact that they are very good with the animals. I don't remember how much we spent.

I have been taking my animals to them for five years and it is close to the house. He is affordable, has good hours but most importantly like I said he is close to the house. He is a nice guy, explains what he is doing with your dog and is good with the animals. I give him A's across the board and would continue to go there. I have two dogs a Siberian Husky and Shiba Inu.

They were very personable and they really take care of the pets as if they were their own. Their cost is very low and the veterinarians are always very professional. They are also there to answer any questions you may have.

They re great with people and with animals. They are very friendly and truly care about the well being of your pet. There is no hassle in setting appointments and you can get in the next day. They are very good with emergencies.
