Tim conducted a home inspection for us and did an excellent job. Not only did he put together a comprehensive report, he remained available afterwards to answer follow up questions. We would highly recommend him and Prairie Home Inspection Services.

He was very thorough and explained everything he was doing in the moment. He let us know about everything that needed to be corrected while we were in the house. The report he sent the next day was very detailed and explained everything.

Both men who came were on time and thorough. Took the time to talk to me too. I received a detailed report the next day via e-mail and a hard copy 2 weeks later.

He was very punctual and professional. I think he was knowledgeable to a certain extent, but feel there were some things he was overlooking.

Pete showed up promptly within a week of me calling him for an appointment.  He asked me what I expected to get out of the inspection (mentioned above).  Pete inspected the outside of my brick bungalow, going around it about three times while he recorded his observations. Care was taken inspecting each of the three levels of my house.  He was probably at my house about three hours.  The next day I received a comprehensive report via email, which he later followed up with a written/bound copy. 
Mr. Neuman helped me prioritize my house projects and I have already completed  two or three of his recommendations.  I feel like I have a valuable guide map for my home's continued maintenance.
I was impressed that I was encouraged to call him for home maintenance advice at any time in the future.

Their reserve study was clear and comprehensive, giving us a map to our financial future.  We anticipate that having this thorough and objective report will help mitigate Association squabbles, and also possibly increase the appeal of our building to future buyers. Having their expert eyes on our building helped discover unknown issues, and discern the "big deals" from the little nuisances.  In addition, we happened to be working with Prairie when we received a dreaded Chicago Building Inspection violation notice to our relatively new deck.  Pete made an extra visit to our property to help us understand the violations and evaluate proposals for repair.  It gave us so much assurance to have experts on our side in this stressful situation.  The Prairie team are level-headed, understanding and can simplify complex and/or intimidating building repair and maintenance needs so that they can be understood and approached.

The reason we went with them was because they were on Angie's List and my brother-in-law used them and recommended them. the inspector was very great to work with and was professional, on time and responsive. We had to adjust the time of the inspection a couple of times and he was very willing to work with us. He was very knowledgeable and what he told us in or inspection appears to be very accurate so far. So far we are very happy with his work. The report was very clear, detailed and user friendly. I was able to use items from it to get estimates from contractors for work that we had to have done.

Pete came out and was on-time and very personable. Pete was very knowledgeable about the property. He definitely knows his stuff and delivers on his promises. I believe since Pete is located in Oak Park he tends to to know the ins and outs of these historic homes pretty well.  He actually gave me a short history lesson about the staircase of the property.
I was impressed at the thoroughness of Pete who took me along with him on the inspection tour, noting each problem or defect he found in detail, while offering tips on how to carry out repairs and costs.  Pete also provided guidance on operating and maintaining the property.  
Pete provided a very detailed  on-time report via email which included pictures and diagrams.

Pete returned our call promptly, gave us an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, and arrived on time.  He was through and careful.  He explained everything he was doing.  He answered all of our questions patiently.  He provided us with a detailed written report within a week of his inspection.  His work gave us a terrific outline for deciding what work to do and in which order.  We used his report several times to guide our decisions and we were ultimately able to sell our home.  He is professional, through and easy to have poking through your home.  We will definitely hire him again.

Pete has inspected 4 homes for me over the years.  He is thorough, professional, pleaseant, and extrememely helpful explaining things to a naive homebuyer.  I would trust everything he says.  In fact, I had a wet basement with my most recent house.  I was getting a lot of different information from different plumbers.  I called Pete, made an appointment, and he came over without charging me for his time.  He patiently went through all the possibilities with me and gave me a list of suggested corrective actions.  He's the best!!

Very knowledgeable and professional.  Proved timely, detailed and easy to understand report, including indepth explainations of the many antiquated features of this early 1900's home.

Pete was extremely thorough and took the time to explain everything he did.  He pointed out which issues were major and minor.  When we inspected the home, it had not been completed finished, so Pete had to make two more trips - one to inspect the attic (there was no access to the attic when he first came, so we had to wait until an access was created), and the second to re-inspect the many items that needed to be repaired.  He was flexible with his schedule, and he did not charge us extra for any of the extra trips.  Pete was a pleasure to work with!

We met "Pete" at the address of the new property and right away he put us at ease about the process, cost, and what we might expect.  He explained the way he did his work and provided us with a simple and understandable contract for us with estimated cost.  He explained that if he had to go on the roof for any reason he would charge an additional amount to which we agreed.  As he inspected the property he explained each thing he did and what he found if anything.  He told us why certain items were important to put in the report and why others were not.  He was done in about an hour and told us when our report would be ready.  He said he would send the report by email and follow that with a hardcopy shortly after. He told us if we had any questions we should feel free to call.
