I discovered at 10:30 a.m. on a Saturday that someone had entered my car overnight and had found the keys to my home. I immediately called PHS for emergency service (I have used them before) and shortly thereafter is was confirmed that they could come out for emergency service after lunch, for which I was extremely grateful. Actually, Joe called and was at my home by about 12:00 (they close at 12 on Saturday) and the locks were all re-keyed within an hour, allowing me to attend the birthday celebration of a family member that I thought I was going to miss. Joe was extremely professional and efficient. I also appreciated that the company's vans do not advertise the business, thereby protecting the privacy of the customer. I would definitely call them again!

Great service.  When I first called, Al spoke to me for almost 45 minutes about all the details of re-keying a door as well as the pluses and minuses of various locks.  He really helped to inform my decision.  Shortly thereafter, Joseph came out to do the estimate and install.  The whole process was finished in less than 24 hours.  Would most definitely use them again.

Felipe responded quickly and promptly. He soon determined that the problem with the front door was not the lock but the door knob. He then switched out a little-used knob from a closet door, zip zap. Nice guy who was honest about the problem and didn't charge us! Highly recommended.

Of all the different vendors I've hired for our new home, PHS was the best.  The locksmith showed up right on time, and changed all the locks incredibly fast.  I was able to pay with my credit card on the spot with Square, which was great.  The locksmith was well dressed, friendly, and professional.  Would use again in a heartbeat.

I recently bought a used Mazda that had only one set of keys. This was for a key with a transponder chip. When I called the dealer, I was quoted a ridiculous price for a spare smart key, programming, & keyless entry.
PHS was able to make me a conventional key, with chip (no keyless entry/start) for about a third of what the dealer charges. Even though it's an apples and oranges comparison to what the dealer offered, PHS provided a greater value in my opinion.

Key works great.

Went very smoothly, the lady on the phone was helpful and Joe the locksmith was super nice; he called when he was on his way from his previous job, and then re-keyed all our locks in a multi-unit, with different style keys so it's easy to tell the common key from #1's key and #2's key etc etc.  all the front and back doors for each unit including storm door matched so we had the minimum amount of keys possible for so many doors and locks!  (He had to change one knob and 2 storm door locks so that all the keys could match.)  I had additional keys made at their store on Roosevelt because i underestimated how many copies to make. Landlords, get a bunch of common keys while the guy is there!  I tested all the keys in every lock and they ALL worked!!  No bum keys!  Thank you, PHS!

We had an issue with an old lock on our front door.  The folks at PHS Locksmith just told us over the phone what we needed to do to fix the issue - they didn't even charge us, and they could have.  They were incredibly helpful and honest.
For any future needs, we will certainly use these folks.

I called the locksmith from PHS to schedule an appointment & he was able to come over almost immediately.  He was very friendly & was able to pick the locks which meant I didn't have to pay to have them bored & replaced.  
I've been trying to pick locks as a hobby and he was happy to discuss picking locks with me afterwords, which was cool.  Obviously I'm not as good as he is seeing as I had to pay him to do it!
I'm giving him a B on price, though that might be unfair- I don't know what his competitors would charge but it seems really expensive to have have locks picked!

Since you did not have keys, Joe picked both your locks, tightened up the loose grip handle and finally rekeyed the locks providing 4 keys. It is slightly more to rekey cylinders when the customer does not have a key. The final amount was slightly less than $190. Thank you very much for your business."

Joe came to the house half an hour after I called. He took the front lock apart and found a tiny piece of ice melt inside. He cleaned and oiled the lock; it works like new. He put a new cylinder in an old best lock in the back.That was fairly tricky. Works great. He also made an extra 3 keys for me. It all took about an hour.

Joe from PHS Locksmiths arrived within a half hour of calling.  House keys had been left in the main door when it was closed from the inside, leaving the interior latch in a partly turned and stuck position that wouldn't budge, making it impossible to open the door to pull the keys out.
The storm door had also been locked from the inside - and  we lost the key for it several years ago and hadn't replaced it - so we couldn't get to the house keys from the outside, either.   The keys were trapped in between two locked doors, and the only way to reach them was finding a way to open the lock on the storm door. 
This was pretty challenging even for someone with as much experience as Joe, but he never game up. He tried many different approaches and ultimately came up with a very smart solution that got everything open and working again. He also made us a new set of keys for the storm door.
I couldn't be more pleased with the great service PHS Locksmiths provided. Thank you, Joe!

My guest (i.e., brother) locked himself out of the main bathroom.  In addition to obvious need for bathroom access, the room included some of my brother's important personal effects needed for his return trip home.  My brother spent over 2 hours attempting to unlock the door, to no avail.  Somewhat panicked and a bit chagrined, just  before noon on a Saturday, we phoned PHS Locksmith in Oak Park.  Al answered the phone and dispatched Joe; Al told us Joe would arrive soon.  We were amazed at the quickness of his arrival.  Joe is the absolute best!!  He was able to get the door open within 5 to 10 minutes. We were happy and considered the service complete. Above and beyond, however, Joe provided an unexpected and extremely beneficial follow-up service for us a few days later in case the problem recurred. Based on our experience, I highly recommend PHS Locksmith in Oak Park.

I called for a locksmith on December 17 to schedule an appointment. The person I spoke to on the phone gave me really good advice on what I might want to use for a lock and what types of locks are not sufficient to prevent a break in. I was advised not to purchase a chain lock because anyone, even a light weight person, can break the lock with little trouble. With an appointment scheduled for Dec. 23 I thought about my options as to what types of locks I would like. On the day of the appointment the locksmith was punctual and again told me what locks were best for my front and back doors. He assembled two deadbolts locks on my front and back doors and then added another lock to my backdoor because it was exposed to the alley. He used lock plates that required longer nails so as to make it difficult for a possible break-in. He changed one of the locks around to make it easier for me to get in, but not so easy for someone else who would want to break in the door. He gave me three keys and then said if I have any questions or concerns do not be afraid to call. He was incredibly punctual, polite, and professional. I would recommend PHS Locksmith to anyone.

My ignition lock seized after making a stop on my way to work.  I needed it fixed in a hurry.  The came within an hour and fixed it 45mins.  I was still late for work, but didn't miss the entire day.  The tech said he would have been there sooner, but the shop he went to didn't have the new lock after they said they did.  I have also purchased dead bolts, keys and locks from them.
