Garden Green Landscaping

I've been with them for quite a while, sometimes they're not very careful with my plants and sprinkler systems. Sometimes I think they work a bit too fast.

The Garden Green crew doing weekly lawn service/cleanup for our next door neighbor has been completely unprofessional.  Every single week, they have blown leaves, lawn clippings, and other yard waste through my neighbor's fence into our landscaping, rather than picking it up.  We have complained repeatedly to them, to no avail--they continue to blow all of the waste onto our wood chips and lawn every week.
Just today this happened yet again.  We got the crew's attention and told them they needed to clean up the mess they made in our yard, and asked them not to blow things through the fence.  The man just looked sheepish and told us "we're going to clean it up".  They never do.  We have called Garden Green to complain as well, and so far there has been no change in this behavior.  This has been a constant source of frustration for us, and every time we hear the leaf blowers rev up, we know we're in for another round of mess being deposited in our yard.  We have had to pull up literally hundreds of extra baby trees from our front and side yards every year due to the seeds being blown into our yard by Garden Green.

They were very good and professional.  They had a plan for us and we asked to change it & they changed it.  We are redoing everything in the front of the house, so we tore the bunch of old trees out of the ground for the better view.  The price was okay.  The quality was good.

They were very mediocre. I told them to do whole lawn care like fertilizing and weed control. We had weeds and they didn’t do a great job about that. I asked to cut the lawn short and they didn’t do it. They did very minimal job in clean up of the grass. They didn’t take the grass off the beds and when the wind would blow it would be all over again. I asked them to do it again for extra price. They were very unimpressive. The lawn looked fine when they left but after two days again it looked the same. Their price was okay. They were adequate and their job was not above average. I would not use them again in the future. They had called me this year and they also offered me better price but it was not worth for me as I had to do some of the work.

Company was dismissive once they found out our location was in Chicago.

I called asking for an estimate for spring cleanup of the yard and regular lawn maintenance. An estimate was left at our house the next day along with a message saying it was there. I called back about a week later and left a message to go ahead with the work. I received a phone call within a day saying they would be out that week. A few days of rain got in the way, but they showed up as stated, worked incredibly hard and made our yard look great. They got into every corner of the yard, moved stuff as needed and covered every inch. It does seem that they don't have an office or office staff since everytime I called I got the answering service. So communication may be tough if you are looking for special services/work. The work done for us is pretty standard so it hasn't been much of an issue. It probably also helps keep their prices low. We have kept them on for regular lawn maintenance as well. They continue to do a good job at competitive prices.

Well, I liked that they didn't need me to be home to do the estimate for the Spring Cleanup. They came by and left me the estimate in my mailbox which I think is efficient, unlike some landscaping companies I had worked with. I had some additional work that I needed done to clean things up, so I called Javier and we agreed for him come out when I am home, to do an estimate for the additional work on top of the spring cleanup. When I got home at the agreed time, instead of Javier being there to give me an estimate, I found 6 men working on my yard doing the Spring Cleanup already. They did do a fair job of cleaning up, and Joel (Javier's brother) was there so I told him that I would like to have an estimate for the removal of additional shrubs and showed him what I needed, but he said I needed to talk to Javier. Four days later, Javier showed up unannounced to give me an estimate, at which point I told him I didn't need their services any longer. I am puzzled and disappointed in my experience because of the poor communication and I cannot even say it was a language barrier issue because I speak fluent Spanish. The crew did a fair job with the Spring Cleanup, but were not detail oriented, as they neglected to remove the majority of the weeds.

Planting went well. Yard looked great. However, 6 weeks later large brown patches appeared. Called Garden Green. Someone came out 2 days later and left a note that yard needed fertilizer and insecticide. I was told it would cost $100. I left a message the next day to have someone call me. Call was not returned. Strikes me that Garden Green would want to resolve the issue quickly and personally. For the lawn to start having such problems after only six weeks is at best odd.

They did a great job. We will definitely hire them again.

I like that they are very responsive. Whenever I call during the day, I can always count on them calling me back that evening. I never have to wait long for them to do what I ask. He always charges me consistently. They actually get out and work with me. I like their consistency.

They were nice and did a fantastic job. Very professional and priced at half of another vendor.

It did take a few calls to get someone out to do the estimate; however, the rep they sent out was knowledgeable and helpful. They weren't the best price quote we received, but they seemed more professional than some of the others. They were right on schedule for completing the work and the quality of the work was outstanding. They did a really great job.

I called Garden Green because they do my neighbor's lawn work. I explained to the woman answering the phone that we were interested in having our lawn totally redone. It probably requires killing what we have and either reseeding or sodding. She said she'd have someone call me back. When the man called me back, he had very limited English skills and said that he had scheduled us to have our lawn mowed. When I told him what we wanted, he said he would have someone else stop by to discuss what we needed. No one ever came by!

I contacted the company and asked for an estimate on the following items: stone edge around garden area, repair lawn (front & back) where it was damaged by recent construction project and design an area for a tree that I wanted planted. I received one call from an employee who stated they would come by. That was the last I heard from them. I do realize that March is the start of their season and I should have called earlier. If they were to call back I would be interested in what the cost would be for my project.

Overall, our experience with Garden Green has been good. The weekly maintenance is average, but the spring and fall cleanup is exceptional. I am considering just using them for spring and fall, and mowing the lawn myself.

MY E-MAIL WAS ANSWERED PROMPTLY WITH A PHONE CALL & A TIME WAS SCHEDULED FOR A FREE ESTIMATE. THE SERVICE REP ARRIVED ON TIME, LOOKED EVERYTHING OVER, & BECAUSE THE ESTIMATE WAS VERY REASONABLE, I HIRED THEM IMMEDIATELY. THEY REPORTED ON TIME WITH A FULL CREW, DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, LEFT EVERYTHING NEAT & IN ORDER, & CALLED TO MAKE SURE I WAS SATISFIED. I WILL DEFINITELY BE USING THEM AGAIN IN THE SPRING, PERHAPS FOR REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE.

SPOKE WITH THEM ONCE TO HAVE THEM GIVE AN ESTIMATE - THEY NEVER FOLLOWED UP. CALLED BACK FIVE WEEKS LATER TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON, AND THEY AGAIN NEVER RESPONDED.

I CALLED GARDEN GREEN TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE ON SOME LANDSCAPING. THE LADY WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE WAS COURTEOUS AND PLEASANT. HOWEVER, NO ONE EVER RETURNED MY CALL. I CALLED AGAIN, AND THE LADY APOLOGIZED, BUT I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. THINKING THE THIRD TIME WAS THE CHARM, I TRIED YET AGAIN AND STILL GOT NO RESPONSE. THEY MUST NOT NEED THE BUSINESS.

THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIVE AND PREDICTABLE. I CHECKED SEVERAL DIFFERENT COMPANIES, THEY ARE LESS EXPENSIVE AND JUST AS GOOD AS COMPANIES THAT REQUIRE A CONTRACT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY.

DID SPRING CLEAN UP AND MULCHED ALL OUR GARDEN BEDS. ANSWERED CALLS VERY PROMPTLY AND SHOWED UP THE NEXT DAY TO COMPLETE THE WORK BEAUTIFULLY. I'LL CALL THEM, AGAIN, NEXT YEAR.
