Denise Hauser Design

I can't say enough good things about Denise. When we decided it was time to redo our kitchen we weren't sure if we should go with a designer. We had a medium-sized budget and a very tricky space. I had always thought that using designers was something and quot;rich folksand quot; did, and that was not us. Using a designer may be a little more expensive than just kitchen contractor or doing it yourself, but unless you have experience and a great eye for space and detail I think you are better off in the long run with a designer.
We had a definite idea of what we wanted aesthetically and Denise was very open to our sense of style. We had so much fun collaborating. When she got a sense of who we were both stylistically and how we live and use our kitchen she absolutely made the most of our space and budget. We cook a lot and love to entertain. This kitchen has changed our lives! Eight months later we still get so happy to be in our new space.
Denise was great helping us pick out a contractor. She was not the kind of person that insisted we use and quot;her peopleand quot;. But she shared her opinion and the names of trusted people she has used. If a problem came up, she was there to figure it out. She managed the timeline of the project so that everything was in place before we began construction, so that we were out of our kitchen the shortest time possible. Bottom line we are so happy with the finished product and working with Denise was an absolute pleasure!

The project went extraordinarily well overall in terms of the final product. Denise patiently worked with us on extensive pre-planning to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. She educated us on design issues, product selection and construction processes. We thought we knew those things, but her expertise far exceeded what we thought we knew and we ended up with a kitchen and bathroom far beyond our expectations. She is an excellent communicator, very patient, and very willing to accommodate our wishes in every way. After her design work, and we were into the lengthy construction phase, she kept close tabs on the project to ensure that it met her high standards of quality and made sure that we were involved in all important decisions. In an old house, unexpected issues always come up and she handled these with us and the contractor so that we all stayed on the same page.
The project stayed on budget (please note that the fee we paid for Denise's work did not include the cost of materials, fixtures, appliances or construction labor, but those also stayed on budget).
We could not be happier with the final product. Our friends and neighbors are amazed at the transformation. People who see the space for the first time often believe that the kitchen is original to the house--which was our goal from the outset. We have modern conveniences that we would never have known about without Denise's guidance, and they blend seamlessly into the old VIctorian feel of the space.
In addition to being an expert in design, Denise takes a personal interest in the homes she works in and the people who live in them. She has my highest endorsement as a professional and as a person.

Denise was referred to me by our general contractor to for our kitchen overhaul. Although I felt our 50's ranch was too modest to hire a and quot;kitchen designer,and quot; I was completely turned off by experiences with the designers at Home Depot and Lowes. After our intial consultation, we were confident that Denise could deliver the best value for our project by inproving the traffic flow and work stations, and squeezing every workable inch out of a small space.
Denise then submitted three designs to us. All three were wonderful, and I would have been truly happy with anyone of them. After picking our favorite, Denise and I set to work tweaking it so fit my budget and my lifestyle.
We then had a series of meetings to select materials. I chose her Amish supplier as my cabinetry man. We also selected appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting,countertops, furniture, everything needed to complete the project. She worked seemlessly with our GC.
The project was as stress-free as a project of this size can be. Denise's suppliers delivered their materials on time and responded promptly to any issues. Denise herself was on-site as necessary. She approached this project with an enthusiasm and professionalism that we enjoyed.
I would recommend Denise not only because she's fun to work with, but also because of the value she adds to a remodeling project. Simply, she streamlines the process. Rather than running store to store, staring at endless possibilities, she made the selection process easy. The finished product looks amazing!! And best of all, I love using it. My small, beautifully appointed kitchen really works for this messy family of 5.

I sit quietly and smile when I hear the and quot;horrorand quot; stories of renovations told by my friends as they describe renovation projects that went over schedule and over budget. I only have positive things to say about our designer, her work, and our renovation project. Denise Hauser listened carefully to our ideas, and she was perceptive in understanding our family's needs and design preferences. Then, she fit our vision of our and quot;dream houseand quot; to fit the realities of our budget. If we had questions or concerns, she was immediately there for us, with a wonderful attitude of and quot;we can make that happen.and quot; The project unfolded perfectly, and the finished result was even better than we imagined. In fact, even though our kitchen is moderately sized, the design was so extraordinary, we were invited to be included in a designer showcase housewalk!

It went very. We were satisfied with the end result. She was very responsive, always accessible, and very patient. She has great ideas.

I called Denise for design ideas for our basement remodel and she returned my call promptly. We set up a preliminary appointment where she heard our ideas and met with all four of us. We had so much fun dreaming of ideas with her. Within a few days she was back to take DETAILED measurements of our space with an assistant. Wow, no nooks or crannies got past her. A week later after some phone calls, she brought us preliminary drawings and we again met with her to tailor them more to our budget and needs. She was very responsive to our requests; she made the modifications and brought them back. After we approved the plans, she brought in two different contractors, both whom we liked. We ran out of time to devote to the project, but are now back on track to begin. We are very happy with the Denise's design and are looking forward to beginning the project.

With three small children, I needed my kitchen to work, and Denise designed a beautiful kitchen that does just that. Once retained, Denise conducted an extensive interview of me and my husband about our lifestyle and kitchen needs, learning about our priorities. After this she took TONS of measurements. Denise designed a few different lay-outs, and we worked together on our favorite to make it perfect for us. She then guided us through the almost endless options of kitchen products with knowledge and patience. Just the time she spent with me shopping, looking at products in-store and on-line, made me confident that we were finding the best value. Purchasing our products through her was a huge convenience and made the project virtually stress-free. (Denise's appliance suppliers were more competitive than ABT!) During construction, Denise came to the house often to double and triple check measurements. She met with my contractor more than once to explain small details that aren't easily discerned on a kitchen plan. Now that I've seen how many details are involved in a kitchen, I couldn't imagine doing this project without a designer's help. We never would have gotten the same results on our own. Overall, a wonderful experience.
