Description of Work: Kevin, from Bald Eagle, was not in when I originally called but called me back by the time I had called 3 other contractors. He was very honest in saying that the work was not something he could do and guarantee the best results. Instead, he referred me to another contractor, nearer to me, who he highly recommended. Take gentleman was terrific and very knowledgeable in regards to what my family wanted to do.

+ -1 moreI needed an estimate for the driveway, walkway and patio area on a home I am waiting to close on. The inspector stated I redo all the cement due to the large cracks throughout the cement. I received a call from Mike and he stated that the free estimate was for home owners only. Mike also stated that I could pay for the estimate ($100) and if I used them to do the work, the estimate fee would be deducted from the price. Nowhere does it state on Angie's List and their website that the free estimate is for home owners only. I am sure he does great work due to his ratings and I am not bad mouthing the company, but he forgot to mention who qualifies for the "Free Estimate".

+ 2 moreCalled for an estimate. Came out quickly to look at the job. Sent us a written estimate/contract quickly as well.. Due to the nature of the job, told us that is would be two separate jobs/crews and gave us an estimated start date for a few weeks. Very pleasantly surprised when called to tell us that they could start earlier. Original contract said work would be completed by Oct 31. Work was done before Sept. 31. Very happy with the job. Had some questions about the work, Kevin came out the next day looked at the work and answered/explained what was going on (which was all normal part of the concrete curing/spacing)
Description of Work: We had the front porch/steps removed and replaced. We had a new sidewalk configured and installed from the porch to the city sidewalk. We also had concrete replaced in the middle section of the driveway

Within 6 months, numerous stones were popping the top layer off the driveway leaving numerous pock marked looking holes which currently continue to occur.. After first winter, discovered, garage floor was not properly graded to drain and melting snow turned into large pond of water on the floor. Little cooperation from company after problems brought to their attention.

+ 0 moreI own an old front/rear two flat that I rent out. My tenant complained of a leaking roof and a visual inspection of the roof showed many bubbles and tears. The roof had not been replaced for a very long time, although some patching had been done. I contacted Bald Eagle, which has done work for me before, and they inspected the roof. It was clear that the entire flat roof had to be stripped and replaced. It also developed that there was a lot of rotten wood in the floor supports and that the old coping tiles were mostly broken and tarred over and should be replaced. They showed me pictures and it was not surprising based on the history of the building. After they cleared away the bad stuff and replaced it with new wood, tile, flashings, and so forth it looks beautiful and the leaks have stopped. It was expensive but beautifully done and on time, and I will continue to call Bald Eagle when I need work that they do.
Description of Work: Completely replaced the flat roof on an old building, including rebuilding many wooden parts and the bottom of a chimney. They also replaced all the coping tiles (about 50 of them.)

The crew arrived early, old sidewalk was dug-up and removed on day 1 without mess, grass on each side of the sidewalk was removed in sod like sections and replaced after new sidewalk was poured. The crew came back on the 2nd day as promised to finish the job even in extreme heat and humidity. I am a very satisfied customer and give Bald Eagle Construction an A+

+ -1 moreBald Eagle put a new roof on our house in September 2006. Last weekend during a storm we had some water leaking from our first floor ceiling. We called Bald Eagle and someone came out to inspect the roof. The roof was perfectly fine; the water came in through an unsealed opening under our second floor windows. Bald Eagle caulked and sealed the joint for us at no charge, even though the issue really had nothing to do with the roof work they did for us seven years ago. Really great customer service. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: They did nothing. The owner was accommodating and came out to view the proposed project pretty quickly. He then said he would send his foreman out on Friday, August 16th, between 5 and 7 p.m. His foremen stood me up and never showed which wasted our evening. After I call the owner and left him a message about the no-show, the foreman calls me and says he completely forget about me and wasn't going to make it. We rescheduled for the next morning. He shows up, appears to be in a rush because he had a wedding and 3 other jobs to get to. I show him the FULL scope of what is needed, which are front steps and wing walls, and he seemed more interested in giving me the least labor intensive option as he asked things like how long do you really plan on living in your house. He asked if I'd like a proposal with 2 options (least intensive and full detailed) and I agreed. I just received an e-mail from the owner, which I've attached below, and they have refused to bid on the project. Amazing. Not a huge deal since there are plenty of other folks willing to bid it, but my goodness was this ever so lackluster. I was looking forward to at least getting a bid. My neighbor used them and recommended them. I will not be doing the same. I have family members that were also looking to get some work done and I will not be recommending them. I can't judge their work since I didn't have any done, but the lack of interest and devil-may-care attitude by their concrete/masonry foreman was enough to not want to consider them for future projects. You win some.....you lose some. Judge for yourself though.

+ 2 moreKevin responded immediately to set up an appointment for an estimate. They were very willing to work around my schedule so I could be there during every phase of the project. Kevin was very responsive to any questions during any phase of the project, any question I sent via email was answered almost immediately. The crew worked hard and didn't waste time. The resulting driveway looks beautiful and well constructed. They weren't the cheapest estimate but they weren't the most expensive either. All of the estimates were within a range of $400 of each other, and I got six estimates.
Description of Work: They removed my asphalt driveway and part of my sidewalk and poured a concrete driveway and new sidewalk squares. They took are of obtaining the building permit, dealing with the inspector, and contacting utilities for line placements.

+ -1 moreKevin Wood of Bald Eagle was very responsive and professional. The entire process went very smoothly. His price was reasonable and the work was excellent. At my request, his foreman, Remy, came one day beforehand to walk me through the process and answer the questions that I had. The roof looks terrific and all of his workmen were professional, polite and did a superior clean-up afterwards. There was nothing for me to do. One section of the roof required repair, and we did not know for sure that this needed to be done until they pulled off the shingles, which were deteriorated, to get a look underneath. Their analysis for repair was right on, and I went up on the roof myself to verify what they were telling me. Kevin got back to me within ten minutes with the price for the repair, again reasonable for the work being done, and the job went ahead smoothly. They started about 7:30 a.m. and were finished by about 1:30 p.m. I am relieved to have this type of work completed with no hassles or worries. I highly recommend Bald Eagle Construction to anyone contemplating hiring them.

+ -1 moreThis was the most professional contractor I have ever dealt with, from start to finish. The initial contact was prompt and courteous. The proposal was thorough and informative. The job was started and finished promptly, by an excellent crew, despite very hot weather. Although the initial price quoted was not the lowest proposal I received, by the time the senior citizen and Angie's List discounts were figured in, it was competitive with the other quotes. My advice - don't go anywhere else for roof work in this area.

+ 1 moreWe have an old house, 130 yrs. old and had some major problems which we have address over the 26 yrs. of ownership. 13 yrs. ago we spent $40,000 on some major renovations. The contractor cut some corners to get all the work done within the estimate. The bathroom was one of them. Several yrs. later a leak developed in the bath tub from a nail hidden under syrofoam it had been laid into that seaped into our unfinished basement. We finally got it fixed in April. Bald Eagle had done a smaller renovation job nearly 10 yrs. ago and had impressed us with their professionalism and the quality of the work. They gave us an estimate that allowed them to do an excellent job and left us with a beautiful shower and the flooring problem resolved. Maybe we could have gotten a less expensive contractor but we thought we had someone we could trust in Bald Eagle and they did not disappoint. We could not more highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They removed our tub and tiles, replaced the flooring underneath, installed new, upgraded plumbing, build a walk in shower with tiles and sliding door we purchased ourselves. They added several granite pieces including a bench which made the results look even more impressive.

+ 2 moret first saw Bald Eagle's ad in Angie's List magazine, then looked them up on the list. They were highly rated, so my husband and i contacted them.at end of June, when we signed the contract. Full price was divided up into thirds. One third at the contract signing, another third when work started and the last when they finished. Kevin Wood called us when the workers would arrive. They arrived around 8am on Monday, July 15, removed the old concrete and put in forms and gravel. At 7:30 am, Wednesday, July 17, they poured the concrete and my husband watched it, so no one would carve anything in it. The front walkway was blocked with wood and tape. On Thursday, July 18, they came to take out the forms and fill in the edges. They were very quiet, helpful and professional.
Description of Work: Broke up concrete walkways from front of house, along side, backyard to alley. Replaced with new concrete.

As far as I know, there were no SNAFUs with scheduling and the quality of the job was outstanding. Other quotes from other competitors did not include a gutter replacement, but theirs did which was a nice bonus. And their reasoning was sound, in that replacing the roof was going to make the old gutter no longer functional. They came out to be more cost effective than the other quotes we got. Overall, very happy with the experience. Kudos to Kevin Wood and his team.

He in turn e-mailed me , and I spoke to him about the process. The owner Mr. Woods was very gracious in his explanation and making sure my mother understood what was going to happen with the replacement of her garage roof. I truly appreciated the owner going out of his way to make sure the job was done in a timely manner, and my mother thought the price was good for the product. As of today, she is still pleased with the company ,and would recommend and use them in the future.
