They were one of a half dozen roofers we contacted. The first contact went fine and we scheduled a time for them to come give us an estimate the following week. After a few follow up emails from me, we got part of an estimate about a week later. After another week, we did finally get the rest of the estimate. By that time, we had informally decided on a roofer, and although the pricing of Bald Eagle was in line with some of the other quotes, their lack of responsiveness removed them from our consideration.

Bald Eagle came out and gave us a thorough estimated with a couple of options for things we were not sure about at the site visit. The project was to convert our raw basement into a family room, bedroom, hallway, and bathroom area. Bald Eagle?s price was not the highest or the lowest, but we felt that Mr. Wood and his foreman had a very good idea of what my wife and I were trying to accomplish. They had a 4 week wait to get on their schedule, but this was OK for us. The project took almost 5 weeks, which was what Mr. Wood said to expect. They trenched in drain lines and ran plumbing lines for the bathroom, framed out the whole basement area, ran electrical throughout, dry walled, painted and installed all the bathroom fixtures and tiled the shower and floor. We now practically live downstairs and could not be more happy. Our only regret is that we did not do this project 5 years ago!!

The owner Kevin came out promptly to provide me with a cost estimate. He emailed the proposal about a week or so later. Once I decided to go forward with the job, he instructed me to provide a third deposit down. I had to wait about two weeks after my deposit was processed before I was scheduled in. I was given a day notice when scheduled after leaving a few messages inquiring about the date. I was fortunate to be home/off from work the exact same day. I was not aware that someone needs to be at home to give the workers access to electricity. All said and done, what matters most, the job was done well. The chimney looks good and the color of the tuck-pointing matched really well with the existing mortar. The work took about six hours to complete.

All I'm going to say is that Bald Eagle gave me the lowest price of five contractors thet biddied. The work was done in a timely fashion and profesionally done. The clean up was excellent. Now the olny thing I did'nt like about Bald Eagle or any contractor, anything not written in the contract will not be done without additional charge. I'm talking about anything in my case a small section exactly fourteen brick were not tuckpointed because of a woodeen bench that bloced the view so I nor did the guy from Balld Eagle seen that it needed to be tuckpointed dueing the estimate walk thru. After I recieved my proposal knowing from reading reviews about Bald Eagle on Angie's List saying carefully read your contract, I asked for another walk down with the foreman who was doing the tuckpointing job. With proposal in hand we walked down the job covering line by line on the proposal. The foreman at that point told me and my wife, he'll tuckpoint wherever he see needed. So when the masonarry phase started I could see the small part of the wall that was'nt tuckpointed. I sent pictures and was told that wall was not included in the contract and if I wanted it done it would be an additional charge.Even thou the foreman assured me my garage would be tuckpoined where needed it was'nt in WRITING I been dealing with contrators and repairmen for over thirty years and I learned it's the little things that make your business and custermer satisfaction is what counts. In closing if the bottom line is price please read your contract and anything verbally promise make sure it's in the proposal.

Bald Eagle responded to my request for work quickly and provided a detailed and comprehensive estimate. They were very quick in performing a full roof replacement on both my home and garage. They kept me updated on what was going on and called immediately with questions if unforseen issues arose (with a 90 year old home there are always problems). The were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend them for any roofing work. They are a solid outfit.

They responded to my request for work the same day, apologizing and giving me a referral to another constructor.

Our experience with Bald Eagle Construction for this project was excellent from point of first contact to conclusion. I called and left a message on their voicemail and received a return call from Kevin Wood, the President, the same day. We scheduled a site visit for a few days hence and the estimator came at the time specified - he may have even been a couple minutes early. I received their detailed bid shortly thereafter. After collecting bids from two other firms who were slightly more expensive and much less professional, I notified Kevin that we would like to retain their services. We had to wait several weeks, it is right in the middle of the busiest season for roofers, but we received notice on a Friday that the work crew would be on site the following Monday. The crew, Jerry and his assistant, arrived right on time. There was a small miscue that was no fault of the crew that caused about an hour delay, but they began prepping the site at about 9:00 am. They completed the roof and were driving off at 6:00 pm the same day. They did a great job of protecting the shrubs next to the work site and cleaned up the site after they were finished so that it looked better than when they had started. The job itself went flawlessly. They stripped off all of the old roofing material, replaced several boards of the substrate that were rotted out, put down the roofing felt and finished up with the asphalt shingles. We elected to go with ridge venting which they were able to install without any problem. The work crew that put up the gutters came the following evening. I was a little worried when they arrived at 6:00 pm that they were going to end up working in the dark, but they were in and out in about an hour. The gutters were fabricated and installed exactly as specified. I would add that one side of the garage was only about 4 inches from the neighbors garage wall, but they were able to get in the gutter on that side with only some minor difficulties. It has rained very hard twice since the new roof and gutter were installed - all is working perfectly! I give Bald Eagle an A+ for this project.

Kevin Wood and his team of contractors came out to the house to give an estimate of the work that needed to be done. By the end of the day, I had a quote from him that was very reasonable compared to the four other companies that we had come out. The estimate he provided was very detailed and easy to understand. He was also up front and honest about what work needed to be done and what didn't. Since we were able to go with both services, Kevin gave us a discounted rate, as well as the Angie's List discount, which saved us about $560! Also, whenever I contacted Kevin, either by phone or email, he usually responded within a day or two. My wife and I wanted to make a change to the style of concrete that they were originally going to do. So we contacted Kevin, and within the same day, we had a new estimate and contract written up. When the contractors were scheduled to come out, Kevin called the night before to give us an approximate time and they were either here early or right on time! They completed the work and cleaned everything up afterwards, which was greatly appreciated! The quality of their work is top notch, and I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for tuck pointing or concrete work.

I met with the owner (Kevin) of Bald Eagle Construction on a Saturday morning. He gave me a 30 minute window in which he would meet me & he was on time. That means a lot to me because this is a rental property over an hour from my house & I cant even begin to tell you how many Saturdays I have spent there waiting on contractors who are hours late or never even show! I explained the scope of work to Kevin & he took the measurements & told me he would have an estimate to me on Monday which he did. We agreed to a price & a time frame & he came & started & finished the work as we agreed upon. The work looks great & several of the tenants told me they were impressed with how quickly his crew got the job done & the end result. I am impressed with this company because they did what said when they were supposed to do it & that isn't common these days.

Very well. Crew did a fine job and very professional. Kevin the owner was also very professional.

The job seems to be perfect. Kevin cane to the house in one or two days to give me a fair estimate for the job - to include breaking up the garage floor and driveway, removing the debris, and pouring new concrete. I told him I was not in a hurry and to let me know when he was ready to start. A couple of weeks later they were ready to begin, arrived before 0800, gave me the permit and at 0800 they started work. the prep work was all done on day one. All debris removed, forms placed, and gravel put down. It took four days for the City inspector to show up and he gave the ok on a Monday. I called Kevin and he poured on Tuesday. The forms were removed on Wednesday. The crew chief "Salvadore" did everything I asked and explained the process to me. I am a happy camper- no stress. My only job was to stay out of the way. Have received at least two compliments in the week since the job was completed.

I like their price, quality, courtesy and punctuality.

Due to the weather, we had 1 day to get this done and the crew was here in force. They were full on from 7 am to 8 pm. The crew was mindful to protect our gardens and patio furniture - there was a lot of protective measures taken to contain the debris. The roof looks great It rained hard the next day and found no issues with water leakage.

Kevin was very responsive to my many pestering emails, and he worked well within my time restraints. He called me the day before work would begin, but unfortunately rain pushed it back a couple days. When the weather finally cooperated, they completed everything including breaking up the concrete, pouring, removing the forms, and tidying up in just two days. I was extremely impressed with the care they took in returning our garden to its original condition. Actually, I think they made it nicer than it was before! We had some old garden edging that was falling apart and coming out, and they put it back in beautifully! The concrete itself looks even better than I'd hoped; they did some rounded edges at the corners that really make it look nice. Our contract had just said to replace what was existing, but they really went out of their way to make it better than before. They even went back in between the air conditioning units, which I wasn't sure would be in our budget to do. Bald Eagle was not the cheapest quote I received, but they were worth every penny. I highly recommend Bald Eagle and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The owner stated that his is not what they do (referring to my request to repair what was need) and stated I need to tell him specifically what we wanted repaired. I pointed to some areas which appeared to be in obvious needs of repair, mentioned that we believed some of these areas were responsible for leaks, and again stated that we are asking for him to provide his "professional opinion" and help us understand what types of work might be needed. At this point he stated that he does not provide reports or do inspections. I stated that is fine but no one in our building has a good working knowledge of masonry and while I can point out some of the most obviously troubled areas we, to some extent, were also asking for him to provide some guidance or options or anything to help us guide our decision. At no point during the conversation did he once offer any insight or make any effort to work with me to identify repairs that were needed. It seemed he wanted me to point to each and every area we wanted a repair made and he would do exactly that. I tried to again suggest to him that I do not assume to know the finer points of masonry or tuck-pointing (and if I did I would do the work myself) and asked how this usually works then. To which he made a snide remark that I guess with a condo building and multiple owners no one wants to take responsibility to make a decision, but typically and owner lays out exactly what they want fixed. Apparently calling him, missing work, and standing in the rain was not deemed sufficient for taking responsibility, but I did not believe that you call a professional out to do repairs and expect them to insist you point them to every crack and loose brick on a two-wide, three flat building. (If my car is broke, I don't go to the mechanic and tell him to change spark plug #2, the injector for cylinder #6, and these two head bolts are loose). At this point my frustration was at a breaking point and he just looked at me and stated I don't think I can help you a walked away. I just shook my head and went to work (late). It appears he offers a "repair" service - point to what is broke and he will repair it. This is not what he advertises on his website: "Our expectation on every project is to bring quality materials, experience and professionalism together to complete your work in a timely manner and at a fair and competitive price." Kevin Wood - Owner He was completely unwilling to share any experience with me, which is what I did expect from someone who claims to be a professional. Also from his website after following the link to: ?And thanks to our simple free estimate process,? "Next, we will do a site inspection to determine how to best meet your needs Once our preliminary research and assessment is complete, we visit the site so we can assess in detail which repairs are needed. At this time we take full measurements and notes of the project, so that back at the office, we have a comprehensive brief of the work to be done. You?re likely to come up with questions, therefore it?s important to know that we?ll take the time to address each one of them." He actually refused to ?assess in detail which repairs are needed.? Instead he walked away from our business. Unbelievable.

Bald Eagle's bid came in within reason of 4 other quotes so I was comfortable moving forward. Kevin came out when he said he would for a quote and he delivered it on time. The project started the very next week after signing the contract. His team worked diligently and finished faster than expected. Great work all around, we have had numerous compliments on our house from neighbors. I would use again for future work.

Kevin followed up with the problems we had been having with the long Chicago winter and what it did to the concrete. He will be affecting repairs at no charge and has been very respectful of my senior mother and her needs. Update, Kevin did not follow and it has been the entire summer and he has never followed up or returned a phone call. He promised he would come take care of the issue and never did. He only contacted us originally when we edited the review before and gave him a lower grade. when the grades were restored to an A he stopped returning calls and never came to do the work.

Kevin and his Forman were on too of the proper handling of the project in question. When installation of the roof was performed it was done with care and no damage to the surrounding properties / the property itself. After the work was completed no trace/debris remained to show work had been done.

On the other hand Kevin gave me an estimate for my garage floor and driveway concrete. I believe the price is very competitive. I look forward to working with Kevin on my future projects.

This was a very easy, stress free project with a great result. I contacted Bald Eagle, and two other contractors in the fall to obtain bids to tear off and replace my garage roof, put new gutters on and relocate the downspouts from the alley to the garden. Bald Eagle's bid was the lowest. I did not get around to having the work done until the spring. When I contacted them, they came right out. They held their price and did a great job. I am so glad I found them. They answered all my questions. They were responsive. They showed up on time, worked quickly and go the job done with little disruption to our peaceful lives. They found and used the exact shingle that was used on our house. I was particular about protecting my garden from debris and they did not damage anything. I was particular about doing the job ASAP so I could begin other spring projects and they did that. This was a simple project with a positive result. The whole thing worked out just as any homeowner would wish for. I have already recommended them to my neighbor.

I called Bald Eagle about a hand rail repair/cement/soffit work. The man from Bald Eagle spent a good deal of time on the phone with me going over what needed to be done. He then told me that they could not do the work & that I would be better off to get a handy man to do the smaller items I needed to be done. I appreciated his honesty & will definitely call in the future if I have a larger problem.

The architect that was subcontracted did a thorough and honest job. Kevin Wood as the owner of Bald Eagle did not meet my expectations as a professional. He did not direct his workers to follow all the specifications of the drawings. He did not follow through with insuring some of the added work I requested was complete. The workers who completed the work were not courteous and did not maintain a clean and professional work site. Kevin Wood did not regularly visit the work site to supervise the job.

We are satisfied with the service and quality of work. Kevin was very quick at responding to my emails and phone calls. They left some old gutters in our backyard when we inspected the work at the end of the day. However, the debris was removed the very next morning when Kevin was contacted.

Our experience with Bald Eagle is wonderful. The entire organization is professional and knows what they are doing! Kevin the owner is very responsive and has terrific follow up. The estimating foremen understood older buildings and knew what needed repair. The crews came on time. Were polite. Knew what they were doing. We used them 10 years ago to rebuild the back porches. They were great then - and just starting out. They were absolutely terrific. I would recommend them to anyone.
