John was very accommodating. Did quality work. Educated me on the locks and how they worked. It was very much appreciated.

He altered the 3 dead bolts both side key entry. Punctual , very responsive. May be he is too expensive because we didn't shop around or don't change lock often. But we will hire him again.

He did a very good job and we had used him before but I should have asked how much it would cost. It ended up being more than what we expected but we may still hire him again.

Old knuckle lock went bad on rental and couldn't open it and to make matters worse elderly tenant was also locked out from the other entry to apartment due to an error of wrong lock being locked upon exit and not having proper key so as a landlord it became a real bad day because I didn't have a key for the lock that was locked. I called John and explained what happened he said he was pretty busy and could be there in a few hours. I explained to him I don't live there I'm the landlord, I have to leave for work soon and tenant has no place to go. I thought it would be stressful for the tenant to wait that long and I had to get her in, John was outstanding and pushed back some other clients ( I apologize for that) and Immediately came to let tenant in from lock out and he changed the bad locks. What can you say...this kind of service no longer exists and John turned a very stressful situation into one of relief. Also unknown to John she was diabetic and was due for her insulin an hour after I called him. Thank you so much John and for those of you that had to wait longer for his service that day I apologize and I hope you understand that John did something very kind at the expense of some of the waiting customers.

He determined the issue quickly and had the lock fixed within a half hour.

John was prompt and professional. He was upfront about not being able to give me a precise estimate before seeing the locks and I do not believe I overpaid. I would recommend his services. I recently moved from the far north side of Chicago to the far south side and I wanted to support a local business in my new area and I was pleased to be able to do so.

He was Johnny on the spot and installed it right then and there, had all the equipment, and gave some helpful suggestions to make the house more secure. The truck was immaculate and well organized inside and out.

He came out when promised and finished the job promptly. We are very happy with the work.

John arrived within a couple of hours after receiving my call to inspect a deadbolt problem on an exterior Dutch style door. One of the two deadbolts on the door was in a permanent locked position. The internal cylinder snapped and needed to be replaced, but the locks were custom made and the manufacturer was no longer in business. John worked quickly to find a new lock from another manufacturer that would closely match the other lock, and the item was ordered. The new lock arrived in a couple of days, and John returned and installed it. Because the new lock inside thumb turn was slightly different than the old lock, there was an issue getting a vertical bolt to slide into place. John moved the entire locking unit so that it would work. He also corrected other mistakes made by the original hardware installer. He was responsive and no doubt knew what he was doing. He also shared some good common sense security tips.

They were timely and efficient. I thought the price was fair.

I found them on Angie's List. He was just okay. At least everything is working like it should. I'm not totally happy with the way my locks work on. But it works and that's most important. Nothing has fallen off. The quality of work at the end of the day is everything works like it's supposed to.

This is the second time I've used this provider. John was great the second time around. The back door is old, including the lock system, so it really couldn't be fixed, but he gave me advice on replacing the doors and what I needed to look for/ask for. He also gave me leads to an electrician, door/window company, and a plumber. John's Lock-Up is my go-to locksmith from here on out.

John the owner met me at my home to do the work. He and his worker showed up on time. They were very cordial and friendly. Because I had so many locks that needed to be replaced John was there for several hours He started out by replacing two locks on front door. These were a dead bolt lock and a quick set lock. Next he replaced the same type locks on my back door. Next he placed a dead bolt lock and a quick set lock on my garage door. He and his worker, then came inside and replaced a quick set lock on two bedroom doors. Overall, john did an excellent job, he worked in an efficient manner. I will definitely use him again.

The price was fair.  The guy was very professional.  He did the job.  He brought his equipment right on site and that was good.  He was quick and efficient.
