I had John from Duerr come in to paint, repair and just make one of my apartments ready to rent. The last tenants had kids so there was a lot of small things that needed addressing. John did an excellent job. He asked questions when needed I felt, not questions about every move, but just about the important things. I will use him again.

John is a wonderful painter who takes pride in his work. I needed the house is tip top shape for resale, and was very impressed with the quality of his work. His caring attitude included decorating advice and help with some major patch work on the vaulted ceilings. His assistant Bridgett was a real sweetheart and could squeeze into really small spaces! Their help and professional abilities helped me with such a huge decorating project. I would definitely recommend John Duerr Decorating to anyone. In one word...AWESOME.

Good job overall. I wanted the job done in one day within a week. John said he could do it. He and his assistant showed up early and were done in about 8 hours. Good, friendly people.

Good job painting around the light fixtures.
Cons:
There were a few small bumps on the walls where I would have sanded.
There were a few some small pits on the walls where I would have spackled.
There is one spot where a stain on the wall shows through the paint. That could have used primer. I'm going to try to touch it up myself with the remaining paint.
No doubt, I'm being picky. Like I said, overall great job and I'd use them again. I'm a tough grader. To me 5 stars means going above and beyond, exceeding all expectations. In other words, none of cons mentioned above.

John was FANTASTIC! He responded quickly and took great care of my 85-year-old mom - from providing a great quote to giving her good advise on paint choice. John and his helper (didn't get her name) arrived when they said they would and on time, moving furniture around so my mom wouldn't have to! They were efficient and clean, no paint stains anywhere and finished the day they arrived. I thank John for taking such good care of my "golden girl."

John was very responsive and professional. He responded to phone calls quickly, gave an estimate the next day and completed the work within a week of contacting him. He was very friendly and courteous to my mom and even gave her advice on other projects she had in mind. We will be calling John again to work on other projects for my mom.

This was a multi-stage process since I was also remodeling. John removed wallpaper in kitchen and entry to basement. did lots of prep work and touch up and repainted both areas. Also painted living room, dining room and exterior shutters. when I noticed some unusual colorations coming through the wall several months after painting completed (related to chemicals under old wall paper) John came back and repainted the area with no further recurrences.

Everything went great. The place looked like new once Duerr Decorating had finished up. John was able to fix the locks on the front and back door too. I thought I was going to have to replace the whole doors. I was very happy with the work and plan on using them again for another apartment that is now vacant and needs patching, painting and sprucing up.

John was very friendly and helpful . Very neat when painting and in the clean up. Honest about what he was willing to do, outside of painting. Had asked him about installing closet doors, and he preferred not to take that job.

We've hired John previously and knew this would turn out the same as the last project, totally perfect! We are having a new driveway installed and wanted to have the iron handrails painted before being reinstalled. Also, the pain was coming off the outside of the enclosed porch and needed to be repainted. Everything was done exactly as we wanted it done.

John did an excellent job fixing the mess we had in the house after the first person we hired screwed up the entire process. Not only did John have to fix the problems caused by the first person, but basically had to do all the same work over again. We were concerned about the dust from all the sanding since the work is being done at Mom's house and she has COPD. John did an excellent job making sure the area he worked in was closed off and the dust from the sanding didn't leave the work area.
We were also concerned about having Mom home by herself while the work was being completed. There was
The upstairs where John worked looked perfect when he finished. I'm am a very detailed person and expect the job to be professionally done, and it was. There were a couple of issues that needed to be addressed, and John came back to take care of them within a few days of our call.
We will (and have) use John again.

They did a great, great job. I was able to rely on John to take care of everything basically on his own. Questions when needed, but not too many. Everything turned out great. Could not ask for better and the price was wonderful for the quality of the work and competence of the workers. I will certainly use John again.

"To begin with, I forgot my saw and drywall tape. I was going to go home and get my tools but his wife said you could use their tools. Member cut holes in the walls and didn't clean up his mess. I also cut holes and didn't clean right away because no one was using the kitchen and I was coming back and clean up when the job was finished. He wants 3 coats of joint compound applied and sanded in 2 days WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE! Member called me back in irate voice saying the walls look terrible. I went as soon a possible to fix whatever issues he has with the project. One of the issues was the minute size of the holes at 3"x3. I spackled the holes in under an hour. Don't understand why Member was so upset. I tried to fix Member's issues by going to his house 3 additional times. I requested he mark up the holes to be fixed by circling them. Member refused. I spent over 30 hours of labor and I paid for all the materials, trying to please Member. Member is looking for perfection in a 50-year home - it's impossible when the framing behind the walls are not square. Some people want something for nothing, and are never satisfied!! Please read my 50 other reports and judge for yourself!"
