They were on time, explained thoroughly everything they would do.  They were very careful to cover everything.  The tub looks wonderful - looks brand new!  Excellent provider.

[Looking at the other reviews, especially the older reviews, there seem to be a lot of different service providers' names, and maybe the company changed hands at some point.  My review below is strictly about working with Jeff Adam.]
Jeff is outstanding, really I can't recommend him and his work highly enough.  He changed the rehab of our home entirely: We had two 1936 bathrooms with the tub surrounds and ceilings in tile and half the wall height in tile.  These tiles had seen better days...really, they had seen better decades.  The colors were from a different time: one bathroom mint green, one bathroom pink with orange.  My husband and I disagreed about the plan: I wanted to restore the historical art deco look (the tiles had interesting designs and some were built into a kind of archway) and hubby wanted to rip out the whole thing.  Our general contractor had worked with Jeff before and said there was a solution to make the tiles look like-new condition again so we could keep them.
The amount of work Jeff did was substantial.  Many of the tiles were cracked.  Some were broken or missing because plumbing fixtures had been removed.  Given that we were going to paint over the whole thing in a new color anyway, he popped out and replaced the problem tiles from his huge collection of all kinds of vintage sizes.  A few unusual trim or corner pieces could not be replaced, and he filled in the cracks with a composite.  Then he preppred and painted a glazing over the tiles.  He let us choose any color in the Sherwin-Williams deck, and even mixed the glaze and provided us with a color sample glazed onto a tile before proceeding.
Most folks try to "upsell" you to all kinds of extra charges or services you didn't think you need, but Jeff did the opposite.  We originally had it in the bid to have the bathtubs refinished along with the tile walls.  But, after using his specialty cleaning solvents, Jeff pointed out to us that the tubs weren't in bad shape, that it didn't seem necessary to refinish them and it was up to us.  We also wanted to refinish a powder room sink, and he explained why we were better off not doing it.
We made a mistake in scheduling (our fault, not his), and Jeff treated it like his own problem to find a way to get the job done quickly.  His part could have held up the rest of the project, because other contractors can't be in the house at the same time due to the chemical fumes.  Jeff helped us by working during the weekends and evenings.  He provided timely updates as he went.
Finally, let me say that Jeff is an educated and interesting person, enjoyable company and the kind of old-timey expertise you don't see all the time. He has a real sense for older homes.

I had to wait a few weeks for an appointment.  He came and re-finished all of the shower surfaces--looked better than I expected.  My only problem was that I noticed a number of what looked like pin-p***** (literally the size of pin p*****) to me.  When he came to check it out, he told me that was pretty much normal.  I was doubtful, but my cousin's daughter had her tub resurfaced by another company and had the same problem, so I'm assuming it IS normal.

The following is my unfortunate experience with Adam Perma Ceram. The results of the reglazing work were completely unsatisfactory. The surfaces of the tub and tile are rough, It appears that the surfaces were not properly scraped and/ sanded prior to painting. The paint in several places is noticeably rippled as if the paint was too diluted to cling properly to the surface. An area around the tub spout has a clump of dried paint. There is a small area of tile that was not sanded or painted at all. Importantly, there is a piece of painted -over debris in the center of the tub that is sharp. The tub is dangerous to use, inferior in appearance and lacking in quality of workmanship. When I called Adam Perma Ceram about the unsatisfactory work, I was told by Mr. Erwin Adam, the owner, that the man who performed the work was no longer the owner. Mr. Adam said he would not be held accountable or liable for a refund due to the poor quality of the work.
Response from The Tub Doctor
"I sold the business in 01/08 to a Mr. Jeremiah Reeves. I officially took back the business, (phones)only on 2-26-09. The was Mr. Reeves last job under Adam Perma Ceram. He received the full $800. I did not receive 1 cent. He still has the equipment and supplies and he is liable for his work. I have no file with BBB or Angie's List after 25 years in the business as an owner of Adam Perma Ceram. We have corrected 10 or so complaints but we cannot re-do an $800 job."

Jeremiah, the representative for Perma Ceram, was exactly on time, was very informative about the procedure, and was extremely courteous during the time he was in my home. He did run into a slight problem with the adherence of the coating but returned that afternoon after the first coat had dried in order to fix the problem. The tub now looks great.
