COUNTRY ESTATE KENNEL

I have been boarding my dogs with Country Estate Kennel for over 20 years. I drive over 40 miles to board them at this particular kennel and would not consider taking my babies anywhere else. The ownership and staff have the highest regard for my pets and their care. I never have to worry about the care of my babies during their stay. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER PLACE TO CARE FOR YOUR ANIMALS!

After our first visit, the dog returned seriously ill and required an expensive visit to the vet with blood tests, antibiotics and other medication. He refused to eat for several days. After a week or two he returned to normal. We did not associate these problems with the kennel, but assumed they were just something he picked up by chance. After our second visit, the dog could hardly walk. The kennel folks said "oh, he just slept on his leg wrong-- he'll be better soon." Of course, this never happened at home-- but he is an older dog and his rear legs are weak. This was a front leg, and he was licking it as if injured. He collapsed several times while they were bringing him to the front for pick-up. He was walking fine when we dropped him off. I had to physically carry him out to the car and then into the house when we got home. Again, he has no appetite and is acting ill after spending one week at the kennel. These problems may be coincidence, but I think not. We have not had similar issues with other kennels. But this is two serious incidents out of only two visits. Assuming he recovers fully from this last visit, we will not be back. The staff is very cheerful and professional. I just wonder how they treat the dogs or what the dogs are subjected to while staying here. This may be an good place to board a young, healthy dog - but not an older dog who already has health or joint issues.

The last few times I have taken my labradoodle to PetSmart for grooming it has been really bad. I decided to give County Kennel a try and was very pleased with the results. Her grooming was very well done - she was so soft and fluffy. The cut lines were very clean - not choppy. I got compliments from family on how well she looked.

We were pleased.  He was happy when we picked him up.  He'd had a bath and was all fresh and fluffy.  Price was reasonable.

The dogs were weighed everyday to make sure they were eating & not losing weight. They were checked everyday to make sure they had no health issues.
Exceptionally well cared for.

We dropped our dog off with food and immediately felt comfortable with the folks who greeted us at the front desk. They were happy and really good with Trey. Trey is a Rottweiler and most folks are put off at first. They got some info and asked some questions about how to make him most comfortable, things he liked and didn't like. We let them know that he didn't get along well with other dogs, they said no problem. A week or so later when we picked him up, they brought him up front and he was great. There was no weight loss, he was of course happy to see us and he smelled great! They took very good care of him and I'll take him there again with no hesitation.o

Dogs were happy and healthy.

My two pups stayed with country Estate Kennel for two nights.  The establishment was very clean, and the employees extremely professional.  I also noticed that the other dogs being dropped off were very happy to be there.  My pups were very happy when I picked them up.  There were no signs of neglect or abuse.  I called a couple of times to check on them, and got a positive response.  They knew who I was, and who my pets were.  I will definitely reuse their services again in the future.

There were a couple issues, after I posted a review the owner contacted me. She called a meeting of all the workers and put some new procedures in place. Very responsive and cares for the animals.

We have two small dogs, one is very active and the other is older with knee issues. Country Estate Kennels has worked really well with both of our dogs, and carries the older dog up and down the stairs so she doesn't hurt herself. They have always been professional and personal at the same time. One sure way I know that they are well cared for is that both of my dogs walk into the facility willingly and exuberantly without want to back away.  Their tails are constantly wagging.

I used them last weekend.  The price is based on the animal's weight.  My dog weighs around sixty five or seventy pounds.  I have a lab.  I can get a bath for her when I pick her up.  The person who owns the kennel also happens to be married to a veterinarian.  I realize that her medication is going to run out through her stay there.  They will then go refill her medication and just add that to my bill.  I think they have doggie day care during the day but I have not utilized it.  I have always felt that they truly care about the animals but I don't want to say that they view the animals as their own.  It's not just that we are boarding animals there.  They really care about the animals.

They also walked and played with our dog daily and on the day we picked him up he had a bath so he was clean and happy to see us but was also happy about being at this kennel.   I would recommend them to others the staff is very helpful and they seem to have a good relationship with vets in the area so if anything does happen there are vets that they can get in touch with for help.  They are not the cheapest place but we will continue to use them in the future for our dog.

 This was the first time that we used this kennel.   The staff was very friendly and courteous.  The check-in was prompt, even though there were quite a few people dropping off at the same time.  We could tell that many of the other people dropping off were repeat customers, which made me better knowing that they were, most likely, satisfied in the past.  The atmosphere was very homey - literally, its an old house, as opposed to the vet where we used to board.  I was happy overall and plan to board our dog there again soon.

They were well treated.

Dropped dogs off Friday evening and picked them up Sunday afternoon.

My dog is happy to go there! She goes straight in without looking back. It's a great facility and I recommend them.

Dropped the dogs of Saturday Morning, and picked them up Thursday. They gave the dogs a bath prior to picking up on Thursday.

Very accommodating to pet personality, provide excellent kennel care, give me peace of mind.

Pam Lashley might have been a dog in a former life with her ability to ''communicate'' with any pet. She ensures that the pets are ''on holiday'' while at the kennel. Her employees are instructed never to use harsh words with the pets. The pet can do no wrong. She has the philosophy that the customer is always right.
