An agent like Beth Ortega is the perfect example of why you hire a
real estate agent. Her in-depth knowledge of the area resulted in a more efficient
home buying experience. This was extremely important because I was moving from
overseas and needed to find a house that would fit my family. Every house we
visited fit the specifications that I had laid out and more importantly she was
able to explain the pluses and minuses of not only the houses that we saw but
also the neighborhood, schools and townships.
Deeply entrenched in the community she knew the histories of home builders,
community planners and the school districts and she was able to provide a
complete and total perspective. Even though I did my due diligence on Zillow,
Realtor.com and Trulia she provided me information I would have never been able
to glean from those websites. One additional fact I liked was that she lived in
the community she was selling so she had a vested interest in the area.
In the end I found three houses that would have worked perfectly and was able
to go under contract the same week. After the contract she provided keen advice
that aided in ensuring that my loan provider had everything in order for our
closing (yes she even knew their nuances). As a testimony to how well this
process went, when my wife agreed to purchase this house it was sight unseen
for her. Immediately upon walking into it for the first time she texted me
"this is perfect." Brownie points for me!
