American TV & Appliance of O Fallon

First, American is no longer in my state, but they are in many others-this is a warning for anyone who may consider patronizing American. I paid top dollar for a stainless steel Asko dishwasher. American sent a (contracted for) installer, who knew nothing of this product; thus, he was not trained or authorized to install or service Asko products. I was unaware of this at the time. Within a few weeks of installation, the product produced a very foul odor-dishes had to be hand washed. I bought an extended warranty with the purchase. I contacted American, who had since sub-contracted their extended warranty service to a third party (the company name is New). New dispatched two different technicians to resolve the problem. Both were unsuccessful. I later found that neither company that employed the technicians is authorized to service Asko appliances. I am technically competent, and I followed all maintenance instructions diligently, including using the right detergent and cleaning the unit. After more than two years, the problem still exists, and American will not honor the extended warranty agreement, stating that it does not cover "installation issues". I have spoken with the manufacturer, and Asko strongly suspects that the problem stems from installation error(s). The bottom line is that American dispatched unqualified technicians, including the installer, and not once did a repair technician suggest that the problem could be related to improper installation. I've asked Asko for help, as of yet I haven't received any assistance. My advice is DO NOT PATRONIZE AMERICAN TV AND APPLIANCE. They do not respect their customers, they play fast and loose with facts, and they don't honor their commitments.
