Excellent. The quality of the work is super. The team that worked on this project was professional and respectful of my home/yard. I had to move the dates several times and Mario was very accommodating. After a year I am revising my all "A" report card for this company to a "D" because after 10 months the concrete driveway started to crack and break-up. Mario, my contact, was quick to come out after I called about the issue. He was equally quick to tell me it was my problem as the concrete should have been sealed about 60 days after it was poured. He said that the cracks and small holes were a result of winter water freezing and thawing and road salt from the public streets. He said Marlin Builders usually tells customers about sealing and was sorry that he had not told us. But, it was clear after our conversation that it was now my problem not Marlin Builders. Mario did offer to patch the small holes but advised that it would not look good. My issue is that Marlin Builders/Mario made a huge professional error in not informing us of the need for sealant, we paid $11,000 for a drive way that is less than a year old and has pit marks that will be there for the life of the driveway. While it is to late to repair the damage I feel that as a professional curiosity Marlin Builders should have at least offered to pay for and apply the sealant. But no, we were provided the name of a company to buy the sealant from and we will have to apply it ourselves as the job is too small for anyone to take on. In closing, I have now talked to several companies about this issue and they all confirmed that the driveway should have been sealed but also said it was unusual for the driveway to begin to break-up so quickly. For people reading this, know that you or the provider needs to seal the concrete driveway after it is poured to keep it looking nice.

Mario provided a quote for the work over the winter and told us the timing would be weather dependant, post thaw and no rain in forecast. He did a great job keeping us informed of the timing throughout the early spring. From quote to completion, Mario was upfront and honest. He took the time to explain why they would do certain things (pitch the drive for optimum water flow away from the house) and made suggestions (leave room for a flower bed along the house) that were greatly appreciated. He was also upfront that the crew does not do landscaping after concrete was poured. The foreman on the job, Jose, was also excellent. Each morning, we reviewed the plans. We made one substantial modification to the original quote (removed the existing walk and replaced it with a new walk in a different direction). Jose provided a fair price for the change. We made a few other minor changes that they did not charge for. I recommend Marlin if anybody needs concrete work.
