National Duct Cleaning Services

The price includes a necessary prepayment of $199 to Angie's List to get and quot;the Dealand quot;! I don't know if Angie's List retains that but if the deal is legitmate why should there be that prepayment requirement? Then when the company got here the price really starting skyrocketing. For instance and quot;the dealand quot; included one cold air return. well this house like so many others had a two by four in the middle of the cold air returns. Know what? National Air Duct counts that as two! Since I have two air ducts that means I had to pay for three more at $20 a pop. The final cost was $479 plus $199 to Angie's list.
I observed some of the work being done in the air duct in the basement ceiling. The tool that knocks the dirt loose pounded hard enough that dust dust escaped in the air. Even though dust was still being still rising the workers quit vaccuming.
Finally the three filters in three months have been filthy so I am not at all confident in the thoroughness of the work. I will contact another company soon.
Angie's List has urged me to complete this report although I had done one other so now I am asking Angie's List if they retain the $199 or if not why the prepayment is required when other duct cleaning companies' offers do not have that practice.

I felt it was a second-rate service and a second-rate job, in part because I felt like the company was counting on people like me to think they were getting a duct cleaning instead of a vent cleaning. I could have easily done what they did and saved the $49. They offered little value in their services because they didn't even clean up after themselves, and they provided a service I could have easily done. I consider myself at fault because I was not a careful consumer and made assumptions that I should have checked, and I will check in the future. I also should have known that the Amazon Local deal that seemed too good to be true WAS too good to be true. I will not make that mistake in the future.
The two young men were pleasant. One was a trainee and one was the main service provider. The trainee was a bit chattier than I was anticipating and that was a bit awkward at times.
I would not use this company again because I felt that they were a bit deceptive in their practices, although as mentioned above I feel I am to blame because I fell for it. I will be calling my trusted air conditioner person to determine whether there is mold in my ducts, and to provide me an estimate to mitigate the mold issue.

They did a good job. They gave me a quote and stuck to it. They did not cause any mess; they left the house clean.
