On the service fee, we have a contract with them. They come out in the spring and fall as well.

They were able to schedule and install the system very soon after giving us a bid in about 13 hours (1+ days) during very hot weather. The installers were carefully instructed by the supervisor and they did an excellent job. We have run the A/C numerous times and we are very satisfied with the quality of the work.

Very well, no problems or issues, kept us well informed throughout the process.

The tech was very professional. He showed up on time. Everything works great. We have them maintain all our HVAC equipment.

Owner personally came out to inspect my AC system and later sent his technician after we discussed the issues and options. He was only person that suggested that by simply replacing the thermostat the system would likely work better. The original installer 10 years ago used old thermostat in the wall. REplacement with digital thermostat immediately improved the situation. He also had technician removed Freon from the condenser that had been overfilled to get system to run better. Once that was done the condenser was quieter and still worked very well. The owner is very knowledgeable and honest which I think is hard to come by in the AC business.

In fact, what he had done was oil the pump and the leak that he showed my wife was just oil.  Instead of using them to replace the pump, we called another contractor who came in, examined the pump and that it was fine and it was just oil.  Based on that I wrote a letter to Unique Indoor and told them that their technician tried to defraud us and demanded that they pay the cost of having the second contractor come out.  They paid me the amount, they deducted from the charge that they charge me to come out.  Based on that, I will not use them again because they were dishonest.  Their one technician was dishonest.

They are always prompt, very kind, and explicit with their explanations of what needs to me be done.  They are the best company to do business with and when I move I shall have them take care of my next furnace!!

Ed , the owner of the company came out to plan/supervise the work done and was entirely professional and dedicated to doing the job correctly and with quality.He would email me updates and was up to the difficult job my house entailed. He and his team were great and my house is now warm.It was a costly event ,but I am very satisfied and would definitely hire Unique again .

I've been using them for about 6 years. They removed my old octopus furnace and put in a new furnace and central air conditioning initially. I have them come out twice a year. I have a maintenance contract with them to come and clean and check the equipment. In fact, a year or so ago when they came out to do the air conditioning check they found a leak in the pipes that had something to do with the construction of that model over the years and it was leaking freon. They recommended a new unit with an appropriate coverage for my house and efficiency rating and they put that in for me. This leak was somewhere in the grid work in the bottom of the unit that sits outside of the house and I guess the way it was constructed in that model that over the years it would gradually  loosen. I could have had it filled with freon, it was my choice. I could have had them refill it with freon for that year but then I would have to keep having them refill it and it was the older kind of freon that is not used much anymore so it could get more and more expensive to refill it. So, I replaced the unit and it uses the new kind of freon plus it is more efficient. I wasn't planning on that expense at the time but I think it was worth it. I think it was worth the trade off. I thought that the price was reasonable. The service I get is good and reliable. I don't believe that I have had to call them during a hot heat wave or freezing weather, so they have been responsive within a few days for maintenance but I don't know how they are in an emergency. They do wear the little booties when they come into the house and down to the basement so they are not tracking in dirt from the outside into the house.

I have a contract with Unique since I have a 3-unit building with 3 AC
and heating units. They gave me priority and got 2 guys out ASAP to
remove the furnace so that the plumbing work could be done.  They also
gave me priority on putting the unit back in, and the same two techs
came out to put the unit back. It was an expensive proposition, but they
were there when I needed them and I could be sure the job was done
right. In a nightmare situation, it's good to have such responsive
people on your side.

I used Unique of Northbrook to install a Spacepack type air conditioning system.  I have a bungalow with hot water heat so I did not have any duct work from a forced air system to use.
Dan came out to look at the house and determine the best solution for us.  He examined each room, the size, number of windows, etc. to determine our A/C needs.
Once we agreed on everything the installers arrived when they said they would.  They worked to insall the compressor outside, the air handler and duct work in the attic.  There is no floor in the attic so they were careful to not put a foot through the celing.
They had to drill holes in out celing for the air ducts.  This was done with minimal disturbance.
I think it took a little over three days to do it all and they cleaned up after each day.
They installed the system in February so it was too cold to fire the compressor at that time.  They came back at the end of April when we had a warmer day to fire up the compressor and check to make sure everything was working O.K.
Prevously I had been using window units and was getting tired of lifting them in and out every year; plus they would only do the rooms they were in and since we had retired and would be using the whole house all day I wanted to cool the rest of the place.  Previously we had limited ourselves to the cooled rooms in the summer months.
Overall the installation went very smoothly, very little disruption.
I would definitely use them for additional HVAC issues.

I don't remember the details but as best as I recall I was satisfied.

They’ve been coming to my house for ten to fifteen years now.  They are very good and very confident.  I can rely on them to come out twice a year.  I will use their services again in the future.

I sensed from the technician's uncertain response that there would still be a problem and I promptly called the owner of the company to express my concern. As I feared, the end result of his cutting a hole in the ceiling and other "work" made no difference whatsoever-the air conditioner still did not pump air out of the vent in the bedroom. They returned $203.00 (what was the $3.00 for?). The owner refused to give me the information I needed to know about what the technician actually did in order to call another repair service and get the job finished. After a second call to the owner to find out what was actually done, the owner did acknowledge that the technician did NOT use a scope to look into the duct work. He claimed the technician reattached a "loose piece" (of what I do not know) and he also claimed my elderly mother complained about the charges; so he refuses to do any further work. Now we have to hire another company to repair the air conditioner, we are out $297.00 and do not really know what the technician did.

They are professional and are very service concious.

They always provide great customer service and they are very responsive to any issues that we have. We would use them again in future.

I was leaving for Israel in 1 week and had an 8 month pregnant lady in my rental. The central heating was 50 years old and I knew we were not going to fix it. I knew we had to replace it. I tried a few companies but I could not give them the business for various reasons. Unique Indoor Comfort was able to come the very next day at a more reasonable price. We could pay a half the amount then and the remaining amount any day now. They did a perfect job. The came when they said they would come, charged what they said they would, did the job and were out of here.

They were prompt and pleasant. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They did everything at a very reasonable price.

I think the price was a little high but it is fine. Of course you can look around for cheaper but they are fine. They came out fairly quickly and they are good. They covered their shoes & cleaned up after themselves.

We had a problem with our furnace and they came out within 4 hours on a Saturday and fixed it. When last checked a minor mistake was made. They came out fixed the issue an and then made it a non issue by upgrading prior work that had been done.

We were experiencing leakage around our A/C unit. Having just moved into the home, we called for Unique to service our HiV (fake Spacepac), and they did come out and perform a very thorough inspection and summer maintenance job even though they don't guarantee work on that particular brand. We were very thankful since we have a contract with them for our boiler as well (wanted to keep it to one company for both). Frank is the serviceman who showed up to do the work. He was punctual and explained everything so very well. He spent a lot of time with me that day, showing me how to maximize the use of our poorly installed system. He helped me hook up the hose out back and wash off our condenser, then found two trouble spots on the unit inside and made every effort possible to remedy them on the spot. Even though we're not able to afford a whole new A/C unit anytime soon, he made some baby-step recommendations for the immediate future to prolong the life of what we're stuck with for now. Overall he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely went above and beyond the call of duty that day, and most importantly (to me as acting lady of the house) was a pleasure to have in our home! Thanks, Frank!
