Crosstown honored an Angie's List coupon, which brought the price down by $50. Their communication between the office and us was clear and prompt. The identified a neighbor's tree that is diseased, and I have since spoken with our village forester about it, as there is a risk it will eventually fall on our home--action pending the property owner's decision. Aside from the fact that bad weather forced a reschedule, Crosstown's crew was prompt on the rescheduled day, and efficiently completed with work and cleaned up afterwards. I am very pleased with their service.

In 19 years I have used three different local tree services, one being Crosstown Tree Service. I've been pleased with the quality of their work and their professionalism. However, I think they fall short of some of their competitors when it comes to price, punctuality, and responsiveness. Their system of requiring a deposit before commencing work, even on the smallest projects, is antiquated. They also don't accept American Express, my preferred method of payment for smaller jobs. The primary problem I have with Crosstown Tree Service is that projects take longer with them. I now typically use another firm.

Crosstown Tree Service trimmed two trees for us and we were very happy with the work! Prior to the work happening, an specialist came to our house and evaluated the trees and made a suggestion for what work would need to be done. Later that day we got our quote and had to put 1/2 down to schedule the actual work. My only frustration was their schedule was full for 3 weeks so it took awhile for them to actually do the work. On the day of, they were fast, considerate, cleaned up once done, and did a good job overall. We would hire them again.

Angie's list special deal offer showed that this company had covered the Morton Grove area. I received a message back from that they do not cover the Morton Grove area. I would like to have a credit for the $50.00. Maybe my job was too small for them and they couldn't be bothered. Not sure? I was offered a referral for another company from Crosstown Tree Service maybe I will take them up on there offer.

He was prompt, courteous and professional. He answered all my questions. The estimate was clear and delivered promptly.

We were rained out for the actual job a couple times but someone came to walk through the job with me prior to that so we were all set.

They were phenomenal!!! They came out gave a quote. I had decided to go with someone less expensive but when the guy got there he wanted to charge me an extra $200 and was only going to take care of 11 stumps. I called Crosstown Tree Service and they came out the next day and removed my stumps!! Very professional, courteous, and responsive.

The work was excellent and we were extremely happy with the results. A lot of time was spent up front with the Master Arborist discussing what we wanted done, conferring with us and offering suggestions about best approaches. On the day of the work they arrived on time and both the Master Arborist and the crew foreman went over the proposal line-by-line and discussed with us again exactly what we wanted to have done. Everyone was extremely professional, polite, and were responsive to our directions. The work done was excellent, completely to our specifications, and they removed all debris when finished. They did an outstanding job of maintaining the natural look of the trees and bushes which was a top priority for us.

Crosstown Tree Service came highly recommended by friends. After contacting them to provide an estimate for removing a diseased tree at the back of my property (right next to the alley), they promptly set up an appointment and responded with an estimate that was considerably more reasonable than one I had received from another firm. They readily answered questions I had about preparing the area for work (which included removing a portion of a wood fence and moving some plantings). They worked with ComEd to schedule a date to get the power shut off so that they could work safely. The work was done quickly and completely, with very little (unavoidable) damage to the garden. They cleaned up all the limbs and sawdust and left the site as good as new (bar the missing tree). I was very please with the results and will certainly contact them in the future when I have any tree-related needs.

Called for an estimate mid-morning. Got estimate early afternoon and gave the go-ahead. Crew arrived almost as soon as I hung up the phone. Job completed really fast. Crew took away all the branches etc., swept up sawdust, and took off. Excellent all around!

Crosstown was very responsive via email and phone. Contacted them for a quote and light consultation given their expertise as arborists, and their consult was very helpful. Recommendation was to do work at a different time of the year for the benefit of the tree's health, hence not having used them yet, but we will this fall. Very positive experience.

I was very impressed with the thorough job that Kevin did in assessing the condition of a Boxelder tree on my property. He took a lot of time to inspect it and gave me a very detailed report. I would highly recommend their services for tree inspection. Likewise, they are a very honest company. I actually found another company who can remove the tree for less than Crosstown and when I called Abby and asked her about it, she said that I should go with this other company since apparently they have the equipment to do it. I felt badly but decided to do so. HOWEVER, I do plan to use Crosstown for trimming a city parkway Elm tree that hangs over my roof. Crosstown seems to be the only company who was willing to work with me to get the proper permit from the City of Evanston to do the work. Crosstown impresses me as a very responsive, thorough and skilled tree service company. I would highly recommend that anyone needing tree services use their tree service expertise. They are honest and will truly work with you to accomplish what is best for you and for the tree!

Went very well. In August, I noticed that although my apple tree appeared mostly healthy, it had developed some leaf-curling and dropping; so I called SavATree; and arborist Phil came and confirmed that the tree was healthy but that the branching & foliage had become too thick to allow adequate air & sun penetration, causing the leaf-curling & dropping. He recommended that the tree be approximately 10 percent pruned, & I agreed. A few weeks later, a two-man crew came from SavATree and pruned the tree. When they'd finished, they asked me to check to make certain I was satisfied (I was); and then they thoroughly picked up the debris & put it in their truck, where they ground the cut-off branches & foliage, and took it away. They did an excellent job--my tree looks happy, healthy, & beautiful. I have no idea whether SavATree's price would be considered high, low, or average, but my tree & I are very well satisfied.

They were very prompt in coming out and analyzing the tree's disease. They have sprayed the tree once and I noticed that some of the scales are gone, but it is too early to see if the tree will be okay. It still has some scales on it.

They came as promised, did as directed, and all went well for a fair price.

The service was scheduled promptly. The removal was performed without any damage to other trees and bushes around. No any debris left, so if not absent trees I wouldn't say something has happened there.

Their price was good and they didn’t overcharge. They got to me right away. They didn’t make me wait a long time. That was a big thing for me. They did a very good job.

Everything went smoothly from the first visit to assess the situation, through the work and invoicing. Kevin, the arborist who visited, took plenty of time to look over what needed to be done and listen to me before making recommendations. He was friendly, professional, and seemed to really care about doing the job right. Scheduling and billing was handled by Abby, who was also always friendly, professional, and prompt in her responses. The work was done on the agreed upon schedule and the crew cleaned up nicely after the work. The new trees look lovely and seem to be thriving so far. Crosstown gave us very specific instructions for watering and assured me that follow up visits were part of the cost if I had any questions or concerns about the health of the new trees. I would highly recommend Crosstown and plan to use their services again.

I purchased $50 for $100 worth of service from this company. The rep from the company came out and told me that I would owe and additional $75.00 for the service, because trimming 4 items they charge $175.00 and with the $100.00 credit, I would still owe $75.00. I refuse to give them an additional $75.00 for a one man job that only should cost $60.00-$80.00.

Coupon for "Instruction Visit" but needed tree service which they also provide. They sent someone out for an estimate on the work. Very satisfied

crosstown was great from beginning to end. the whole process took only about a week. showed up 15 minutes early and went right to work. tree was down and gone within 2 hours, and this was a 100 foot spruce. all interaction with workers was very professional

It worked out fine. They trimmed the tree in my husband’s likings, did exactly what they were told and cleaned up afterwards.

It was fine. They were very professional that they cleaned everything and not leave everything behind. They knew what they were doing and I feel comfortable with them. It was kind of expensive though but they gave us suggestions.

They were excellent. They were on time when they told me they would be there. The help was all very professional and polite. They did exactly what we discussed about them doing. I have absolutely no complains or negatives about them. At the time of the service, they had recommended having them back after five years to do more work and its turning out that was true. A tree only live for so long so doing the work they did at that time prolonged the life of the tree for us in the back yard but we are on a downhill with the tree. It’s not going to last. The next time they will come out they might have to cut it down.
