I was given a quote based on an emailed photo and I took the chair and fabric in to have the work done. There is not always someone in the shop so you have to call ahead to make an appointment if you are not having them pick up and deliver. The chair came out perfect and looks great. Seams are straight and tufts are neatly placed. Their cost for the labor portion of the job was substantially less than another shop. Highly recommended.

Tim McFaul was responsive & flexible - he came to my house at 7am to do the initial quote & to pick-up & deliver the items. All time estimates were met -- initial appts as well as dates for when McFaul could start & complete the work. Unfortunately, the quality of the actual work was unsatisfactory. On the chair and ottoman, they didn't align the stripes in the fabric where surfaces intersected, e.g., the front & back surfaces at the top of the chair back, so the seams are a train wreck of stripes. I didn't reject delivery due to this, since I wasn't willing to start over at fabric shopping, but I did point it out as disappointing. Nor did McFaul adequately secure the fabric to the top of the backside of the chair so that w/in about a month of delivery, it separated, revealing sharp staples & batting. The sofa has a different, non-striped fabric, but I still wasn't thrilled with the job -- the kick-pleats don't hang quite flat, and in general the fit is not as smooth as I'd like. This was the 2nd time these pieces have been re-upholstered, but a first for these issues, so I've seen good re-upholstering work. Tim responded promptly when I called to complain about the separated seam. Since he didn't offer confidence that any fix would hold, it hardly seemed worthwhile to go through the hassle of scheduling pick-up, several weeks for repair & return delivery. I've been pleased w/other Angie's List providers, so it was easy to select & expect satisfaction from McFaul. I regret not taking the time to locate & work w/my original re-upholsterer, who's not on the Angie's List.

I called several A-rated upholstery contractors listed on Angie's list and received ballpark estimates of what it would cost to reupholster a wing chair and ottoman. McFaul's price was about HALF the price of the other A-rated companies. He offered to stop by to take a look at the piece and give me a quote. I agreed and the final price was in the lower part of the range he had given me over the phone. I had the fabric for the project, so I let him take the fabric, chair and ottoman. It took about 3 weeks to get it back. They look great. The only thing thing is we discussed him providing arm caps, which he didn't do. I mentioned that when he delivered the chair. He made a pattern for the arm caps on the spot and promised to mail them to me. I haven't received them yet, but that was only 2 days ago and the mail hasn't arrived yet. I'm sure that they will arrive in the near future.

McFauls gave me a quote over the phone which was better than another service I consulted. They picked the loveseat up when they said they would and returned it on time. The workmanship was excellent: plaids centered and matched perfectly, upholstery tight with no puckers, seams and cording straight.

I called in late August to schedule. He told me to bring it in late September because he was too busy at the moment. I brought the chair and a small wooden rocker that had been broken the previous weekend. He agree to make the glue repair on the other chair as well. I brought in the fabric and he asked me if the pattern should run horizontally or vertically. I had other chairs at home in same fabric, so I went home to check, then called to tell him "vertical." He said the work would be done in three weeks. It actually was 5 weeks before it was ready, but I didn't have a deadline. When I picked up the chair, it was beautifully done, but pattern was horizontal. He said he thought I had said horizontal, but couldn't find his notes of our phone call. He offered to redo chair after the first of the year (a couple of months). I didn't take the offer because the difference is subtle and not important where I use chair, and it still looks good.

They came and picked up the furniture and dropped it off, which was helpful. They gave some good suggestions for fabric and didn't seem to mind whether we bought from them or supplied our own. I appreciated his comments and suggestions.

I didn't realize that there were different gages of the padding, and I should've gone with a different pad. He didn't inform me about the differences in padding. The price didn't include the fabric.

Clyde is a one-man operation in a converted garage on his property. I admit I was a little leery as I stepped into the office filled with fabric books and work to be done. He knew exactly what to pull out when I gave him a long list of specifications like color, cost, kid-proof, cat-proof. We got it on the first sample book. He did a good job, came in within my budget and even fixed two of the chairs that were a bit wobbly. I would use him again.

Tim McFaul was very pleasant to deal with from the beginning. I took a chair to his workshop for an estimate, and picked up several fabric books to look at, from his large collection. When I had selected a fabric, I called Tim back, he picked up the books and ordered the fabric. When the fabric came in (about two weeks later) he came back, picked up the chair seats, redid them, and had them back to me the next day.

Mr McFaul was a wealth of information. He taught me a lot about fabric & the uses of fabric. He spent a lot of time with me for such a small job.

THE WORKMANSHIP SEEMS VERY GOOD. THEY WERE POLITE AND DID THE WORK ON SCHEDULE. I HAD A PROBLEM IN THAT THEY INITIALLY DID THE CHAIRS WITH THE WRONG SIDE OF THE FABRIC. IT NEVER OCCURRED TO ME THAT I NEEDED TO TELL THEM WHICH SIDE OF THE FABRIC TO USE, AND DO FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE ASKED. WE AGREED THAT I WOULD BUY THE NEW FABRIC AND THEY RE-DID THE CHAIRS AT NO ADDED CHARGE.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE'VE USED THIS COMPANY AND ONCE AGAIN WE LOVED THEM FOR THEIR PROFESSIONALISM AND QUALITY OF WORK. WE SAW A STORAGE OTTOMAN WE LIKED IN A STORE, BUT THE DIMENSIONS AND COLOR WEREN'T RIGHT FOR OUR ROOM. WE SHOWED THE PHOTO TO TIM AND HE COPIED IT. TIM IS SO ACCOMMODATING. HE EVEN DELIVERED THE OTTOMAN TO US ON THE SAME DAY WE CALLED TO SEE IF IT WAS READY. HE KNOWS WE HAVE A TODDLER AND HE DESIGNED THE OTTOMAN SO THAT IT WOULD CLOSE SLOWLY TO AVOID INJURING ANY TINY TODDLER FINGERS. MCFAUL UPHOLSTERY IS REALLY A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!!!
