"This review does not belong to us. We are a local Chicago moving company and do not operate in Arizona. There is another Low Cost Movers in California that does."
We were quoted for a 2 hour move, no problem. Moving a 1 bedroom apartment, 3 miles down the road to another 1 bedroom apartment. Easy. There are 2 elevators in the building, 1 right outside of our apartment and the other down the hall next to the stairs.
After the movers got started my husband left to go turn in the keys to the apartment (Since the movers were already late and we told our realtor we would have them the keys) My husband received a call from them after he left claiming that the elevator was being used and they would have to wait. (We assumed this meant that it would be used briefly and they would get back to work- OR better yet, use the OTHER elevator)
It took them almost THREE hours to pack up our 1 bedroom apartment. We were charged for 4 hours, when we were told that morning that it would take them no longer than 2 hours.
We contacted our realtor who talked to the maintenance man for our building who said he used the elevator for a moment, but when he realized that there were movers he left the elevator alone and it was not in use the whole time the movers were there. They lied and charged us double for the move.
I have tried to contact the company since the incident and have heard no response to any of my attempts. I will NEVER use this company again and would not recommend it to anyone else.
Again I say, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
"Upon receiving your inquiry, I reviewed this customers file and note the following. We were hired by the customer to move her belongings from an elevator building to a garden apartment at the rate of $65.00 per hour plus a one time trip charge of $65.00. The building the customer was moving out of required that we use a shared passenger elevator. Almost immediately after we commenced the move a building engineer commandeered the elevator, telling us that we needed to share the elevator. Our crew immediately alerted both our office and the customer. The crew was interrupted three separate times by building staff who took possession of the elevator. Each time, the crew advised our office and the customer that we were unable to use the elevator as control of it had been taken away from us by building management. The crew advised the customer that because the elevator delays were beyond our control, she would be charged for the additional time our crew spent waiting for the elevator to be returned to our control. However, at the conclusion of the move the customer objected to paying the bill unless we gave her a credit for the time spent waiting for the elevator. As a result, we gave the customer a courtesy credit of one hour at $65.00, even though the elevator issue was beyond our control. This customer was booked for an 8:00 a.m. move with a one hour window arrival time. Our crew arrived before 9:00 a.m. and started the job promptly at 9:00 a.m. Please see attached Bill of Lading which shows that the customer initialed the job start time at 9 a.m. and the $65.00 credit that was given. As Chicagolands leading low cost mover we always strive to do the right thing for our customers. Please let me know if you think we should have done more."
