Mark from Len roofing was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. He was very responsive and knowledgeable throughout the bid/estimate process. But more importantly, his crews (roof/window) preformed high quality work. I highly recommend LEN roofing

Mark responded very quickly and professionally. He prioritized my situation and came out on short notice to help me before it rained again. He was open to negotiation on price. I will not be able to assess the quality of the work until it rains again. Hopefully I will be able to report a good review about the actual roof work. Their dealings with me as a customer were great. I already have some future projects I'd like to consider them for. I am happy so far.

Great. The roof took about 3 days and they managed to get it in before the snow started. The guys put up plywood to protect my plants as the slate came sliding off the roof and except for a few dings on a bay window metal roof there wasn't any damage.

Mark DeBartolo was extremely communicative and dependable. The work crew was pleasant and hard working! We are thrilled with the finished product and would definitely use Len Roofing and Remodeling again in the future!

Mark come to check the roof after we contacted him and did the repair after two weeks.  This is his 2nd time work for us.  Several years ago, he changed the siding of our house.  We like the way he treated customers.

They did an excellent job. They did a good job overall at a good price. The service was good, and the communication was good.

LEN Roofing was very quick to respond and very professional.  We had pretty roof damage from a a hail storm and they worked with us to make sure we replaced the roof with quality materials.  We had a lot of out of state roofing companies walking through our neighborhood door to door.  We chose to go with a local company with a good track record of service and quality
The crew came out and worked very fast.  They did an excellent job of cleaning up too.  We even wanted to make a couple adjustments to where the new gutters downspouts were placed and LEN handled it with no problem.
We were very pleased with them and would definitely recommend LEN.

The roof replacement was quoted at the time of the gutter replacement. When we decided to move forward with the roof and detached garage, the company moved quickly to contract, delivered the materials and performed the work in a timely and professional manner. It is only a sidewalk's width between houses, but tear offs were contained to our yard. Clean up was thorough, and gates and garden ornaments were returned to their starting locations.

Showed up when they said they would replaced some rotten wood and did a nice job of cleaning up after the job was finished.

During a recent windstorm, some of my siding and aluminum trim came loose. I called Len Home Services, and I talked with Mark DeBartolo about my problem. He had helped me in the past even though he had not done the original work. It was a very small job. Not too many companies would have been interested. He called me back promptly and did the work quickly. I was very grateful.

Resheeting and reroofing plus chimney rebuild . Very responsive.

They did a total tear off of  our 90 year old roof for both the house and detached garage. Our roof is a steep Tudor  with multiple peaks and valleys and the original slate under an asphalt shingle.  The neighbors are close, the yard is small and the Oak Park requirements are strict.  In addition, the garage required a lot of wood replacement. So the job was daunting and rain was coming.  But the LEN workers arrived promptly at 7:30 am and worked from dawn to dusk literally. They were done in two days and on day three came back after the job was complete to make sure the yard and our neighbors yards were clean.  I have never seen such hard workers. Our windows and plants were covered with plywood and tarps to protect the house and yard from damage and they literally had the roof off in less than 2 hours. Then they worked like demons to get the roof on the main house on day one because the weather was looking risky.  On day two they did the garage which was significantly more damaged than we thought and again they worked 12 hour days and finished it completely in one day. We had no damage from demo.  They were able to salvage the gutters which were old, but historically correct and in good shape.  They also were able to do a flat roof decking on an area between two peaks on the main house that required a different treatment shingles.
 I wasn't sure how to submit the claim for insurance and Mark was able to talk me through it and then just to be sure the insurance company was satisfied, sent a letter to outline the damage and repair.   I was very impressed with the professionalism of LEN from start to finish. The estimate was very detailed, well explained and Mark came with samples of several of the shingles I was interested in. Then he spent one more visit with me while I decided color. He even climbed on the roof with the samples so I could see what they would look like. I was very very happy with the job this company did and would use them again in a heartbeat. Our roof had the potential of being a total disaster due to the weight of the slate under shingle towering three stories up.  But it went so smoothly that my pets slept through it ...both days.  Amazing job!
 I would highly recommend LEN.  And for what it is worth, I was prepared to upgrade to a much more expensive shingle for aesthetics but Mark brought samples of several lines and explained the pluses and minuses.  He helped me choose one that was reasonably priced because it matched the paint beautifully and it ended up saving us thousands.  Plus the roof looks awesome.

Overall, the bathroom looks great. We are very happy. There was one small problem that cropped up 4 months after the job and they promptly fixed it.

The job was in several parts and involved two houses. At the first house they had to tear off the full roof and put new gutters and everything new. That job came out beautifully. He used some hi-tech material that I had requested. He knew what I was talking about and very few did. He is up on his product and he knows what's what. He was also able to get me somebody who was skilled in doing copper work which is really rare. There a lot of guys who say they do copper and they can bend the real thin stuff but I needed some copper setting on stone face.  These guys were from Yugoslavia and the copper that they were working with had to be a full 16th of an inch thick and it came out absolutely gorgeous. They did over sized gutters and checked and made sure they were draining like they should. If they weren?t, they re-routed them and there was one and they re-routed. 

The second part of the job was for the house I am currently living in which has a leak in the roof.  Len agreed to patch a roof which was put on by a different roofer a number of years ago, at a point where the original roof met a small dormer put on by that prior roofer.  Mark (LEN's owner) put it in the contract that they would repair the leak as a part of the contract. They came out twice.  The first time it was starting to drizzle, but they put some caulking around the flashing and declared it fixed.   It wasn't, they said then that it was more involved than they originally thought.  I told them that I didn't expect it to come for nothing and if more materials were involved we would work with it.

After some time passed and a little back and forth, his crew came out a second time and pulled back some of the material and found that there were a number of pieces of metal step flashing missing.  They put the pieces of metal in and some caulk and declared it fixed even though they left the rotted decking in the area untouched.  If it stopped the leak I would have lived with it though.  Mark called and requested additional payment, but we felt at this point we had to know the leak was stopped.   It wasn't.

Now he just doesn't return calls, emails or texts. He just disappeared. The price was a little high but not out of sight. The work that was done was excellent. Up to the point where the roof patch had to be done everything went great.  At that point he was paid in full..

We have a few properties and I would have liked to work with him in the future but this last little job left a bitter taste.   I don't know what happened. The leak here is bad and it is over my bathroom where part of the ceiling caved in. It is so bad, to the point where if it is raining and you are sitting on the commode you get a shower at the same time.

Len's was excellent.  They called to let me know when they were coming.  They did some work on our
deck that was perfect.  Excellent work, good price and very professional.  I would definitely use them again.

The work went very well. I would highly recommend them. They did everything. They were very professional. They cleaned up after every day of work. Mark, the owner, was a wonderful person. He was very meticulous. He checked the site every day to see how the work was going. His workmen were very good, as well.

My experience with Len Home Service has been excellent. I would recommend them to anyone. They installed all new windows in my house last year and was very happy with them and new they were who I wanted to use for my batheroom remodel. Mark came out and gave me a written estimate. We started the project about a week later. John the contractor was very polite, prompt and professional and does very nice work. Mark came out day one to introduce me to John and probably everyother day just to see how things were going and if I had any concerns. He is very professional and I knew if I had any concerns he would take care of it. My recommendation is that Len Home Service is a company you can rely on. You won't be taken advantage of, they are very fair - honest - reliable.

When I came home the next day, it had been done. I was so grateful.

I had 3 companies come out to give me their spiel and an estimate. I liked Mark from Len the best and his price was right in the middle. He wasn't on the hard sell and seemed to work with different suppliers giving us more of an option. We live on the third floor in the city with very little room between our building and our neighbor's building making this a tricky job. Everything went smoothly. Mark's employee, John, was amazing. He was on time everyday, worked hard and took a real interest in getting it right. Mark would come each day to check on John's progress and answer any questions I had. When the project was finished, Mark and I went through and checked all the windows to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. The windows are great! We just had a new born before having the windows installed and we wanted to keep our unit toasty. We were able to do so by turning our heat higher than in previous years without spending more money. Big difference from our previous circa 1975 aluminum cased windows. Len is a solid company and both Mark and John did such an impressive job on the windows that our condo association decided to go with Len for a new gutter on the back of our building. We could have gone with a reputable competitor who was charging less but we went with Len instead. Gutter review coming at a later date.

Real well...on time and budget and cleaned up every day...good final outcome.
