They sent crew of guys, they worked quickly, they did a nice job, the price was reasonable and I will recommend them to others.

I can't speak to all the negative reviews but my experience was different. I was a little nervous with the quote written on a business card so I did a major amount of clearing and some light prep myself. I did call and text Mr. Lee numerous times to clarify the timing and some details. He was prompt in getting back to me. The guys came on time and they started right in. Each room was well-prepped and painted in a clean professional manner. Very pleased that Mr. Lee painting came through on this job. We had some ceiling repair work that was really high up and the crew managed very well without scaffolding. I plan on using Lee painting again and will definitely ask for Carlos and his crew.

The job they did was horrible it has be redone and they missed a bunch stuff. They got paint all over the house. The quality was / is awful lines are not straight, they missed the second coat, bubbles all over the place, drip marks. only have regret that I hired Lee's Painting. I had them paint my house about 9 years ago, and at that time they did a great job. This time, they painted most of the house, and they did a really sloppy and careless job. I bought very expensive Benjamin Moore paint (Aura). Here are just some of the highlights: - They were supposed to paint two coats in each room. Given how much paint they had left, there is no way they painted most rooms two coats. Example, one of the bedrooms has 300 sq ft of wall space. I bought two gallons, they used less than one gallon. Similar for other rooms. - Many lines are not straight - Lots of drip marks on the walls - Lots of sharp pieces on the walls - They messed up even my new doors and trim, leaving many drip marks - I had nice white caulk on a new vanity next to the wall. They messed up and put paint on it. To cover it up, they just painted over the white caulk. It looks awful and now the white caulk and the repainting on top of it needs to be re-done. And that was my new vanity. - I had one area freshly painted two months ago by someone else. They put ceiling paint marks on it, where now I have to re-paint it. - They had paint marks on many windows, floor, etc. Example, my big window in the living room and sliding door looked it had paint rain on it. And then the owner tried to do as little as possible. The painters were there Monday thru Thursday. When they were leaving on Thursday, I said "did you fix the ceiling and another room". They said, "Oops, we forgot. Just call the owner, and he will send someone back another time". I called the owner on Friday, who said the painters would be there on Saturday at 9:30. When 9:50 came and no painters, I called him. He said, "sorry, and they painters would be there in 10 minutes". He showed up 20-30 minutes later by himself, telling me painters were not coming. So he lied. He then went through all the problems. He did bring two other painters on Tuesday. They were much better, and they spent a whole day fixing stuff. They fixed a bit of stuff, but given how badly the job was done in the first place, a lot of problems remain, and still most rooms were not painted twice. Even though Lee's Painting was reasonably priced, if I now bring in other painters to fix their mistakes, my guess the overall price will be much higher than very expensive painters, and the amount of time I need to spend is significantly higher. Every day, I see more problems. A really disappointing experience, and I hope I can help others avoid it in the future.

As background, this is my first time hiring ?professional? painters. Now that I?ve talked to a few other people about how painters should do their job, I know that I should have stopped them in their tracks before things got so bad. I get the sense that Mr. Lee hires around 10 or so subcontractors and has all of the guys shuttling between 2-3 jobs a day (the same people were not there the first and second day) and pressures them to get it done as fast as possible so they end up cutting as many corners as possible, not cleaning up spills, and not checking to see if there are needed touch ups. Sure, the price was low, but I?m going to have to spend so much to fix all the damage they did, it would have been worth paying more for a better paint job in the first place.
Here are some details about how terrible the paint job is:
1. I have beautiful thick white trim around the bottom of all my rooms. There are paint splotches all over it because they only applied a narrow layer of masking tape to the top and didn?t bother to clean up most spills. By the time I found all of them it was too late and the paint has dried. I?m going to have to repaint the trim;
2. They didn?t use any sort of tape on the ceiling and the paint line between the wall and the ceiling bleeds onto the ceiling in several places and there are noticeable paint marks on the ceiling in several places;
Where they did notice they spilled (not many places), they tried to scrape it off with a razor blade and scraped down through the paint already on the trim to the wood on the trim;
3. They tried to scrape some paint they spilled on my custom stained kitchen cabinets, which also now have a big nick in them from the razor blade they used. Then they apparently realized they were stripping the cabinet and left the rest of the paint they got on the cabinet to dry so there is paint right next to a big nick;
4. They didn?t bother to remove a twist-off lighting fixture in my half bathroom before trying to paint behind it and got dark blue paint all over the back of the lighting fixture;
5. They got paint on the natural stone tile in my bathroom that I can?t get off;
6. There was gunk or dirt or hairs or something on their rollers in several locations which is now painted permanently into my wall;
7. There are areas they completely missed covering and I am going to have to do touch ups;
8. They got paint all over a light-colored area rug in my bedroom, and then denied that they did it (details below)
They had packed everything up to leave when I went into the bedroom and I noticed I could still see the old paint color through the new paint on most of the walls (old color was pinkish-red, new color is greyish-blue so this is a big problem). They were clearly in a hurry to get to another job, but came back in to touch up. Five minutes after they?re back, I go into the bedroom where they have put no drop cloths or plastic or anything and one of them is standing in the middle of my bed on the comforter with his shoes on roller painting the wall. I notice splotches of paint on my duvet cover and pillows and demanded they go get drop cloths before they paint any more. They come back with drop cloths that they don?t check to see if they have wet paint on them. They put these wet-paint-side-down on my carpet, and when they leave, there are splotches of two different colors of blue on my new tan area rug. Then they deny it was them and try to blame it on the guys who worked the first day - despite the fact that the paint on the rug was wet.
And here are a few more things which I think were inconsiderate and inappropriate:
1. They washed their paintbrushes/rollers out in my kitchen sink, got paint water all over my dish brush which they didn?t bother to remove from the sink and all over every single cabinet within four feet of the sink;
2. They went into my closed utility room (a room they were not painting) and helped themselves to my vacuum other other cleaning supplies without asking me first (I was in the house the entire time and they knew where to find me);
3. They brought their lunches, used my fridge, and used my microwave without so much as asking. I would have let them, but at least be considerate enough to ask first.
To be fair, here are the few good things that I can think of:
1. They were not super late showing up the first day, but after showing up, all but one guy left for the first four hours the first day to go finish up a job somewhere else; they were on time the second day.
2. The price was as quoted.

Mr. Lee came on a Saturday to provide an estimate, and was responsive in scheduling his painters for the work. The painters arrived promptly and worked efficiently, completing the basement in one day. The basement now looks great - very clean. Would definitely hire again. Very fairly priced!

I have used Lee's before. I think they do a great job for the price. Perfection NO, but when you need painting and don't want to get ripped off on prices I think they are fantastic. I will be using them again soon.

I had received estimates that ranged up to $6,000. His estimate was $2,500. His crew was so organized, polite, and focused. He brought in a huge crew. They moved things around and even removed blinds and put them back up. He said it would be 3 days but ended up being 2. Everyone was such a hard worker.

This the second time we have used Mr. Lee for painting. His crews work beyond fast. They are not perfect but perfection is not why you use them. If you need something done quickly, call Me Lee. At one point he had 10 guys working at the same time.
His guys are nice, courteous, and do a good job. They take shortcuts, like taping doorknobs instead of removing them, etc.
If you live near the Lake, maybe Mr. Lee is not for you. If you don't have the time to do it yourself, he's the perfect solution.

I thought they were very good and quick. I own a model home and the quality of work they did was showroom condition. They used top quality paint and recommended paints for each room. The end project was nice, clean, and neat. I thought they did a great job.

You can't beat the price but....
1. The painters arrive promptly at 8 and leave promptly at 4. They worked for 2 days. This means that all the work is squeezed into this time, not leaving enough time for prep or corrections. The workers themselves worked very hard and were nice to deal with, but not enough time is given to them to really do a professional job. I found many flaws afterward. I don't know how Mr. Lee can predict to the minute when the job will be done. The result is a far from perfect job.
2. I asked for a good quality paint, and Mr. Lee told me he uses good paint, but I don't think this is the case. When I used to get smudges on the wall, I could clean them up with Fantastik. Now the smudges just smudge more.
If all you can afford is a mediocre job with mediocre paint at a good price, this may be just right for you. I wish, though, that I had paid more and got a more professional job with better quality paint.

Disappointing. Mr Lee did not act honorably. If you choose Mr Lee, don't repeat our mistake, get everything in writing - have you ever heard that before - I do feel like an idiot. Anyway, Mr Lee doesn't like to write things down except the price. Mr Lee quoted an initital price of $1,250 for the three rooms, baseboards, doors and trim.
We accepted the bid and let him select the date. We waited for the date to arrive, moved furniture, removed drapes, and blinds, took down the pictures,removed wall plates and prepared everything for the painting the next day. Guess what? Mr Lee did not show up. When we called he said that he 'forgot'. The earliest he could fit the work in would be one week later. So there we sat with our house a disaster area waiting on Mr Lee. We discussed with Mr Lee doing the work on the weekend but Mr Lee did not return calls. Finally, he was able to fit us in four days later. The night before the work, Mr Lee called to identify the colors for each room. We specified the colors for the walls and he asked if we would like semi-gloss white for the baseboards, trim and doors. We said yes, semi-gloss white. Mr Lee arrived on time, reviewed the work and confirmed the colors including semi-gloss white for the baseboards, trim and doors.
Mr Lee's hispanic painters did a good job painting. When Mr Lee's men completed the work I came out to inspect and pay Mr Lee and noted that the baseboards, trim and doors had not been completed. He told me that this was not included and that the cost would be another $300 to paint the baseboards, trim and doors.
Workmanship: there was some paint on the cabinets, some paint on the floor, debris in the front yard from a border that was removed, and a couple of the electrical outlets were painted over.

The team of 5 arrived on time and began work promptly. We supplied the paint and they did the work. They did an excellent job with only two small drip spots on the siding which they quickly removed upon request. The painters were very polite, careful and worked quickly. I was pleased with the work and results and I would recommend them.

Mr. Lee painted the exterior of my previous home and did a fantastic job at a great price so when I was looking for an interior painter to completely repaint the interior of my 4400 sf new house in Kildeer I reached out to him as well as a few others that I found on Angies list. His crew did an excellent job which included a two story foyer with tray ceilings and two story family room. He painted the entire interior with the color choices we picked and high quality BM paint. I highly recommend Lee's for any painting job, very professional courteous and finished early, what more can you ask for. Will be my first choice for some exterior work on the house this spring.

Mr. Lee came out within a couple of days for our quote. He was very polite and able to schedule the work within two weeks of the estimate. This was great since it would be done before Christmas. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. They were very polite and worked very efficiently. When they were cleaning up to go, I noticed they had not painted both sides of the shutter doors in the living room so they got the paint back out and did it. There was a small section of chair rail that was painted thin that they went back over when I requested it. I also noticed some paint on our hardwood floors after they had cleaned up so they cleaned it off. As they were about to drive away in their truck, I noticed some of the trim on one of the doorways was not painted! I ran out and caught them and the supervisor came back in and finished it. The work looks very good overall, but on close inspection there are some things we noticed after the job was done. Some window trim is painted thin, you can see the old color through the new. We did not specify two coats, but there are some spots that could have used another coat. Two risers have areas that were not sanded smooth prior to painting. We've discovered more spots where, despite the use of tarps, paint got on the hardwood floors. The window mullions were painted over, but not caulked and sanded as Mr. Lee had specified. Crew left a water bottle between the window and storm of our front window which is now painted shut, so we will wait for spring to remove the storm and get it out.

I looked up painters on Angie's list and had Mr. Lee come out and give us an estimate. We had 2 other companies both recommended to us by friends also quote the job. One of our biggest concerns was our new windows being painted correctly. After looking over the estimates and reviewing the feedback here on Angie's list we decided to hire Mr. Lee. His crew showed up promptly and did the work in a day and a half. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. They left having overlooked painting a closet. They returned immediately after our call and finished. I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend them.

Within 2 weeks of scheduling the painting project, they finished in 3 days and did an excellent job! There was a crew of 4. After each day, everything remained clean and undamaged.
