Dominic and his team are fantastic. First class is all I can say. Tom is one of the greatest handymen I've ever seen. They do great work and make sure you are satisfied during the entire process. Basement looks beautiful and would definitely hire them again. They also did our master bath several years ago. I will be calling Dominic again when it is time for the kitchen and other bathroom.

Several missteps make me hesitant to grade this company with an A rating.  Communication, punctuality, the painting, and final payment are my major complaints.Communication with this company lagged several days, sometimes a week or more, from the very start.  The estimate for my project got "lost" in their outbox and took much longer to get to me than other companies.  I overlooked this at the time but now see it as an indication of the quality of communication from this company.  Once I chose First Choice, responses to emails and phone calls picked up but text messages were the best way to communicate.  But, even then, there were times when responses to text messages took longer than they should have.After signing the contract, the first step was to shop for new items.  The day we went shopping, Dominic was late.  I do believe he sent a text saying he would be late but only after the time he said he would be there had passed.  Again, this type of behavior continued throughout the project.While shopping, Dominic was very patient and explained pros and cons of various choices (i.e. acrylic vs. iron tubs).  After shopping, I did do some more research into the various items I chose and their quality ratings online.  This did make me change some of my original choices in the store.  During the first week of July, I ordered the items and waited for some of the items to come in.First Choice started work on Monday July 23.  The work went fairly quickly.  During the week, Dominic was the only worker here with the exception of the 2nd day when a man helped with the plumbing and setting the tub.  Most days, Dominic arrived within 30 minutes of when he said he would and stayed late (until 9 or 10pm) working.  I was without water for 1.5 days and without a toilet for 1 day.  I thought that was quite good given the plumbing they were working with.  By Friday July 27, I had my bathroom mostly back in place.  The lack of other workers led me to believe that my project was not as important to First Choice as another project they had recently acquired.I had asked First Choice to paint my bathroom and this was part of the contract, something I paid for.  The bathroom was painted, but the job was so bad, I will have to re-paint the bathroom myself, including the ceiling which has several very noticeable paint marks on it.  I did get a $36 credit (for the can of paint purchased by First Choice) on the final bill, but I thought I should be credited more since this was part of the contract and now something I will have to redo myself.The last day First Choice came to my home was to seal the tile and install the bathroom fan.  I was told they did not have time today to install the fan but would still have to pay.  Once First Choice noticed that the ceiling fan was part of our original contract, some phone calls were made to re-arrange the schedule so he could get the final payment from me that day.  The ceiling fan was installed and then I paid the remainder of the bill.Upfront I had asked First Choice if it was a problem if I paid with a credit card as opposed to check.  The response given to me was "You can pay with a credit card and we will waive the fee if you give us an excellent review, which I know you will."  When I tried to pay the first third of the bill with a credit card, I had to remind the company of their offer.  When final payment was due, I wanted to pay with my credit card again but was told I would have to pay about $60 extra for the fee the credit card company would impose.  I was tired of having to remind the company of their promises to me and paid with a check.  Unfortunately, I have screwed myself financially for the next couple of months because of this.So, would I use First Choice again? Maybe. Besides the painting, their work was great.  But I would know what to expect from them in regards to business practice and professionalism.  I expected more from a company that was so highly recommended on Angie's List.

The work to repair/replace marble tiles on the bathroom floor is not completed. The marble floor is cracked is several areas.  The inial remodel was done in may 2010, repair work was performed in Sept. 2011 and is currently unresolved.
The grout on the bathroom floor began to crack 10 months later and most all of the tiles in the high traffic areas were loose. After contacting 1st choice remodeling in 2011, Dominick came out in Sept. 2011 and repaired several but not all loose tiles (lifting each tile, applying adhesive and regrouting six tiles). Also, the orginal grout that was used and provided by 1st Choice, is not recommended for marble by the manufacturer, which is a possible reason for the cracking of the grout, as discussed with Dominick. The tiles he redid were not level. I called back 1 hour after he left my house from the completion of this work in Sept 2011. He said he would send someone else the following week. After many phone calls, almost every week since then, and reschedules, this issue is still not resolved. Several marble tiles are cracked at this point, and I cannot obtain service for the repair work that I thought should be warranteed by 1st choice Remodeling.

Overall the project went very well. The customer service was excellent. Dominic was responsive to our calls, very informative and answered all our questions. First Choice helped us with the ordering of the tiles only, everything else was pretty much ordered and ready to install. What impressed us with service was that Dominic quality inspected every piece of tile, including the decorative strips and small pieces, as well as vanity countertops for any imperfections or cracks. We actually had to return the first batch of tiles due to poor quality that was caught by Dominic and we ended up receiving back a much better looking batch of marble tiles. The marble was cut neatly in areas that needed cutting, the decorative marble strip in the tub is perfect and small pieces were cut very precise, the grout lines are straight. They sealed all the marble with a 15 yr. quality sealer. We're very happy with our bathroom and the timeframe it was completed in. We would recommend First Choice Remodeling for any bathroom remodel!

Prompt, reasonable price, did what they said they would do and fixed anything they did not.

Overall it went quite well. The only problem was that the new wall tile didn't match w/ the old ones. Then Dominick went to the store w/ us and helped us design and put some separator titles so that the difference is more natural. They are very precise on how much they spent on materials, and didn't charge any extra on the material fees. They were also fast in responding and always tried to work to our satisfactory.

They did the whole job without making a mess of my house. I would recommend them to anyone. They were friendly, neat, and tidy. They did exactly what they said they would do. They even did some extra stuff at no charge.

Overall, very well. Excellent support on design and planning. Prompt and professional services. Good with adapting to additional requests and tweaks in design. Good quality work.

Dominic came out from First Choice and gave me an estimate for remodeling my bathroom. I asked for an estimate to completely gut my 1970's bathroom and to replace with all new fixtures and tile. He was very professional and honest when he quoted me a price. Dominic came out within a week to discuss options for my bathroom. He spent the whole day with my husband and I helping us to pick out different materials and fixtures. Within 3 weeks he had 2 men come to begin the work. They were both very professional and helpful. The work took about about a week to complete. Dominic made sure that we were happy with the work and he gave us a two year warranty on the project. I was very happy with the work and the appearance of my bathroom.
