"I understand that the situation was very upsetting when the water was coming into your home, and damaging the drywall and insulation, due to the ice damming and snow on your roof on February 8, 2014. A repeat satisfied customer recommended us to you, and you called us to remove the ice dam and deep snow. We did emergency work for you and responded immediately to serve you to prevent more water from damaging your interior. Serv Pro also came within 15 minutes of my call to them. The snow was carefully removed with plastic shovels to ensure that you would not have more water entering your home. The 7-8 inch deep of ice broke off in huge chunks after we applied salt and show that we left a layer of snow on the roof. Our professional company has been remodeling and roofing residentially and commercially for 23 years. We took great care to ensure that important matters such as this were properly and quickly responded to, so your interior water damage was limited. I am sorry that your present insurance claim was only for damages from the water on the interior and that you may need to file for preventative measures, which caused the leaking from the ice dam. Your roof did have numerous tree branches on it; and the high winds in January and February plus the snow and ice may have affected your roof. JRK did not cause damage to your roof. We had several rainy days the next week after our repairs: and you told us that no more water has come into your home interior. The first week when we came to your home you asked for a quote for a complete new roof. We seemed to have a great working relationship with you until March 19, after the insurance company informed you that you would need a separate claim for any roof work. On March 20th you changed your emails to threaten us. You told our office and us that you had two or three quotes for a new roof, these were prior to the State Farm inspection. It appears that you were seeking a complete new roof. One some days we had three or four emails and many phone calls from you; and we professionally answered them, even at 6:25 A.M. in the morning. Customer service is a priority with us. When one of our workers was doing your insulation the week of February 21; he also checked your roof after another roofing company’s worker was on your roof. No damage by us was observed where we worked. The pictures that were sent show you how the roof looked after our snow removal; and they prove that we did not damage your roof. A layer of snow and ice was not even removed that was on top of the shingles. Different individuals saying that “they think” or “my opinion is” does not state a fact. The State Farm representative talked to our office three or four different times; and we have several emails also from them. They did not state that we damaged the roof. Many people have been on the roof and other events during the last ten years contribute to the condition of the roof. You had siding replaced several years ago because of hail damage. I am sorry that you have another deductible if you file a claim, but I am not responsible for this issue. I was called to your home because you had water in your home from ice damming and heavy snow. The pictures sent to you prove that we did not remove snow down to the shingle layer. We prevented more damage immediately by responding to your call in a timely manner. Our work on this was completed by February 28, and billed March 3 on email; not March 20, 2014. Jim – April 1, 2014"
