They did yearly check up on the air conditioner and the furnace and they do them at two different times. The warranty keeps me going back. They installed the new furnace and the air conditioner and when they did that if you purchased both of them at the same time, they doubled the 5 year warranty on the units. But to keep the warranty active somebody from that is affiliated with that company has to come out and do an annual service on it. They correspond. They seem to do a reasonable job. We haven't had any issues with scheduling. Before we had the new stuff installed we had one emergency kind of thing where things quit working. They came out and they fixed it for us. I don't really have a way to really judge the price. The folks in that kind of line of business especially when they make house calls are generally on the more expensive side but I don't think I'm getting ripped off when it comes to price.

I'd give them a "B" because there was one issue that when they installed the furnace the base kind of covered the sump pump. It was relatively easy. The inlet pipe basically all we did we used a flexible hose joint on that to basically separate the pipe. Then you could pull the pipe out and then take the cover off. There's about 2 inches underneath being covered.

Went extremely well. I had 3 other dealers evaluate the job and give me estimates. McDuffee was head and shoulders above the rest in design and warranty on their work.

Excellent job, quick, courteous, cleaned up after. Inspector from city admires their work and says they always do the job right.

We've used them for years. I've never used anyone else, so I don't know about pricing comparison.  I like that they have emergency services too and they come out as fast as they can.

Technological advancements and computer programs allowed Mike McDuffee to get a precise measurement of our interior space and to design the most efficient system for our home. This technology will become the norm, and local cities and towns are making this mandatory when replacing your heating and air conditioning systems. This is a good thing, and very professional on McDuffee's part. Mike was very informative and took extra time to explain the different models, answer our questions, and address our concerns. We hired them to install a new American Standard Gold 95V variable speed, 2 stage furnace with a 16 SEER Gold single stage air conditioner. 
From our initial service call to completion of the actual work, everyone was very professional, prompt, courteous, and friendly. The technicians are highly qualified and excellent with clean up. They installed dampers in our existing ductwork to help distribute the heat more evenly throughout the house. Although it has only been a month, the house is noticeably more comfortable. We would like to thank the owners, management, technicians, and office staff for their excellent service and a job well done. We are extreemly pleased with the results and would highly recommend them.

They vacuumed out the heater and replaced the coupler. He did look over the heating system and made some recommendations. He will have someone follow up with me in a week to discuss them. I appreciate good service and that's exactly what I got. Right now I have heat, and that's a good sign.

They were very reliable and they went out of their way big time on a furnace installation for us at one time. There were a few things that they had to come back and fix after they were gone.

I was having troubles with my furnace through this winter and knew it was time for a new one. I had received a few estimates through out the winter. I called Charles Mcduffee and Steve came out to my house the same day. Steve looked at my system and I told him of some of the issues we were having. He was the only one that had taken extra time with my concerns and actually addressed them. We were having airflow issues in area's of the house and he addressed them. I felt very comfortable with Steve and his recommendations. I went with them and bought a variable speed furnace and they address some duct work issues that nobody else took the time to even look at. Its been a few months since the instal in this cold winter and the house has never felt more comfortable. The install crew was fantastic, professional and very kind during the install. Such a great experience.  I will recommend Charles Mcduffee to all my family and friends. I only wish I had known to call them the first time. No more searching for a good contractor anymore! Opt instead to purchase a new unit after meeting with the company’s co-owner to select the appropriate model and arrange financing.  From our initial service call to the final walk through of the installed internal and external components of the central air conditioner, CMD delivered their services and products in top drawer fashion.  We also bought our gas furnace from them 7 years ago and it has been problem-free from day1.  They do not charge to haul away the old replaced unit(s) and left the work areas as clean as pre-installation condition.  Based on our long-term experience with CMD as our HVAC provider, we will continue using
their services/products and highly recommend them to everyone. In our opinion, their products and related services are the gold standard in the industry.

They quickly realized what the problem was.  However, he had no appropriate tools/equipment to do the job.  Finally I offered them a wire-coat-hanger for them to use and unclog the line.  Their standard charge, just to walk in the door, is $89.00, so they charged an additional $78.00 to unclog this pipe, for which I provided the 'tools'.  I feel that the charge of $78.00 was exorbitant for the work they actually performed.

They successfully performed the warranty work and we were charged a fraction of what we might have been charged had they not gone to bat for us.

We recently purchased a home with a 20+ year-old boiler and 26 year old furnace.  Regrettably, both the furnace and the boiler sat in a dark, wet room for two years, so neither of them were in particularly good shape.  Nonetheless, numerous friends and associates suggested the boiler could be repaired and made useful for a few more years – as it turns out, the boiler failed as soon as the temperature dropped.  After a few days without heat, I called Charles McDuffee – they were able to send out a technician within 20 minutes to evaluate both systems.  They concluded a) my furnace chimney was overburdened and venting poorly, b) my furnace required a new control module, and c) my boiler, at the very least, needed a new expansion tank.  Two days later I had them come out to replace the expansion tank and service the boiler – they successfully got the boiler up and running again, but warned me that it was on its last legs and really needed to be replaced.
When the boiler failed again the following day, I decided to bite the bullet and replace it entirely – not a cheap proposition, but the  correct choice.  The boiler literally fell apart into large, rusty chunks as it was being taken away – that it operated at all is something of a Christmas miracle.  The guys at Charles McDuffee were great – not only did they lend me a new control module for my furnace so I could get heat immediately into the house as they worked, but they also issued me a full credit for all of the previous work they had  done on my old boiler – nearly $400.  They hauled my old boiler away, rebuilt my chimney feed so it drafted properly, installed a new thermostat for free, and left the place cleaner than they found it.  The new boiler is working like a charm and I couldn’t be happier with the service, advice, and follow-up.  In addition to the manufacturers’ warranties, all parts and labor are guaranteed for a year – so far, no problems at all.  They’ve been in business since 1950, so I have every confidence they will continue to be around to back up their guarantees. I plan on calling them in the spring to take a look at my teenage AC and, eventually, to replace the furnace next to the boiler.

Excellent. Same individual has done the work for us the past 3 years. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Able to answer all of the many questions I had which were more than just furnace questions including AC, Hot water heater and flue issues. Gave me tips on what to look for before it becomes and issue.

They provided multiple estimates with different options and were patient in explaining all of them to us.  They were the lowest bidder for the job.  The job took several days, they were always on time and cleaned up after their work.  Tarps were laid down to protect our floors.  The workmanship was top notch and the company had a very professional approach.  Everyone was friendly and tried hard to do quality work.  They worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.  

  We were nervous taking the low bidder, but could not be happier with the outcome.  Highly Recommended!  

I scheduled a fall inspection and tune-up of our home furnace in mid October. On Nov 10 repairman arrived on time and called 1 hour ahead to notify of ETA. Well experience gentleman arrived at the door, identified himself, put booties on shoes and went to work. Explained everything to me as to what he was doing, if there were any problems( none found). Gave me a report as to condition of the furnace and expected remaining life as well as some tips as to what to look for if the unit fails to work prior to calling a repairman out to do the work.

They were very responsive and did the job on time. The price that I was quoted was the price I paid. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future if necessary.

Steve was good at explaining everything. Workers were knowledgeable and efficient and did quality work.

They were terrific. They did what they said they would do and they did it neatly. They did the work within budget. I am very pleased. I will use them again in the future if needed.
