We have a Kenmore gas oven (maybe 10-12 years old). The oven wasn't heating properly, so we called Sears to have a repairman come out. The cost for the serviceman to come out was $95, plus an igniter, which we were told would be over $100. The repairman was supposed to come out on a Friday morning between 8:00 a.m. and noon, but he never showed up. We called Sears and found out the technician never came to work that day, but no one called to let us know that we would have to reschedule.

We consulted Angie's List and found Tom's Appliance Repair listed with some favorable reviews. He came out yesterday and very quickly installed a new igniter. He was friendly, efficient, arrived on time, and knew exactly what to do. Plus, both his service time and the cost of the igniter were less than what Sears had quoted.

All of our appliances were purchased at the same time, so we will definitely be using Tom again.

Tom arrived right on time.  I explained my gas stove had one burner which would not light.  He examined it and made some adjustments.  Next I showed him my electric dryer.  I explained it just stopped working one day.  He took it apart and looked at it. Then he removed a broken drive cable.  He had another cable in his truck.  He installed the new cable and fixed my dryer.
I was well pleased.  Tom is pleasant, efficient and effective. He knows how to fix appliances.  He did the two jobs with only one service call.  He got both jobs done quickly at a reasonable price.  I would use his services again.

I have an old fridge that has broken down twice. Tom has helped me out both times--once on a Sunday before we were about to leave the country--and counseled me on the purchase of a new one. When we finally bought a new one, he came over and looked at our water line that had previously been unusable. He told us we needed a plumber to replace the valve, etc. He didn't charge us for the visit. Very knowledgeable, practical, and prepared. I would recommend him to anyone.
