Federal Companies Bloomington

There was a great deal of damage to our property.  Some of it was improperly packed and other items were mishandled.  The experienced drivers who delivered the furniture said they had never seen so much damage on a residential move before.  Worse, we received almost NO customer service at all from the staff in Bloomington.  We called immediately and sent email messages, but we only received one email with a claim form attached.  When we hired this company the sales representative persuaded us that their company was top notch and therefore worth the extra money we paid to hire them.  He led us to believe they would handle our belongings with kid gloves and be there for us should anything go wrong.  This was not the case.  The claim process was very long and stressful.  We had to identify and itemize with great detail each item that was damaged (including calculations about current value and price paid).  This list was two pages long.  Of course, this is not something one wants to do after moving!  It took more than half a year to finalize all damaged items.  We thought that damaged items would be replaced, i.e., they would procure a replacement and deliver it.  However, they provided a check for the value of the damaged items, and it was up to us to manage the replacement.  Some items were repaired (at their option) and we had to be available for inspections and oversee the repair process.  It was a major inconvenience.  One item, an expensive, new table was damaged, but the inspector claimed it was due to weather!  So they refused to repair or replace that table.  We were told by the inspector that if we tried to sue for the damage, we'd never win because the moving companies always prevail.  Again, no customer service representative from Bloomington ever made one single phone call to us to apologize, reassure us, or help manage the process.

I have used Federal several times for moves. They do a good job providing an estimate and providing tips for the move. Their movers have always been on-time and do good work. It was incredibly hot the day these guys moved me and they worked their tails off. Overall did a good job... a few more bumps and bruises on this move than my other two but I still highly recommend this company.

They were timely, very accurate on there estimates. They were very efficient. They protected the house while they were doing there work. They were very contentious and efficient. They were a good price compared with their service.
