We would really recommend Jeff Diez and his company! My wife and I hired him to redo our bathroom. He did a great job and we love the end result. Jeff is someone who truly cares about his customers. In other words, he cares for real and not simply because he's being paid. Many thanks, Jeff, for all of your hard work and expertise and for putting up with all of our questions. We certainly would use you on another job.

Jeff remodeled our kitchen this past October and we are very pleased! First of all, he was very helpful in recommending cabinet, countertop, tile and flooring showrooms. Shopping for all of that can truly be a daunting task. Then the work he did was amazing! He thinks of everything and comes up with a solution that works when needed. The tech that installed our new dishwasher complimented the plumbing work he did. Also the tech who installed the microwave said our contractor did a really great job installing the cabinets. So not only does it look great to us, but it’s done right to where two separate techs on two separate occasions made mention of the great work he did. I love my new kitchen! I would hire Jeff again if I ever need a contractor for anything. It’s great to know a contractor who takes pride in his work!

I was not pleased for the following reasons: The length of time to "completing" the jobs. Using the shower stall to cut the glass tile and then leaving the glass dust and pieces of the glass tile in the shower stall without clearing them up. Although these two were corrected, but the fact, I had to ask him to come back to correct. Excessive grout on the tile. Leaving a large stain looking spot in the ceiling after it was painted Supposedly correcting a leaking (the water continues to run after turned off for about a minute) faucet on the tub. After asking about this, he removed the charge for installing a new gasket. Although the tiles line up with the two walls, on one of the walls, they angle down in order to line up. Due to "miscommunication", not all of the door handles were installed on the closet doors. Some of the handles installed are not straight. Leaving the door bumpers for me to install due to the paint being wet and not wanting to come back. The doors being uneven leaving different size gaps from top to bottom between two doors and/or the door and wall. Of the four doors installed, one does not sit properly and will "roll" and not stay in the "closed" position against the wall. I did not realize the doors would be damaged when installing the handles so I had put the paint in my storage locket and so I was left with painting the scratches and marks left on the closet doors. When the old folding doors were removed, there were holes in the wood flooring that were filled but the putty does not match the current wood flooring well. I can not say this was Jeff's problem, but before proceeding, I wish I would have been consulted about: The 2-3 inch gap that is left between the by-pass. I had the doors installed to create some privacy in this room, but with this large of a gap, it is pretty easy to look right into the room through the large gap left between the by-pass on the doors. All of the heavy duty hardware used. I do not know what they are rated, but I would guess all of the brackets used would support 200# or more when the doors are hallow 36" doors. To Jeff's defense, he did provide a small discount on the door installation due to all of the problems, which I took so we could get this thing behind us after taking several months to complete due to other projects he scheduled prior to getting mine completed.
Description of Work: Removed a garden tub and replaced it with a jetted tub, which also required installing new tile because the old tile could not be saved. Removed folding closet doors and replaced with a double by-pass "barn style" doors.

Jeff designed a custom bannister for my stairs. The stairs are narrow and steep and had to accommodate a particular person. He drew up the design, explained the details thoroughly, answered all my questions, and delivered and installed his handmade bannister on time and within the estimate. Jeff also replaced the old worn-out sillcock on the outside of the house that was leaking. Most recently, I called him to suggest a solution to a weathered area related to the fireplace flue on the outside of the house. Even though I decided to postpone that work for time being, his proposal for counter-flashing was acceptable and at a reasonable price. Jeff is detail oriented and highly professional. He is a problem solver. He communicates well and answers questions thoroughly. He also arrives at the predetermined time, provides detailed estimates on time, and cleans up the work area when finished. I know that he does carpentry, plumbing, and metal work, and no doubt he has many other skills as well.

We made an appointment with Jeff to come over to see what we needed. The current outside door was quite old and larger than most. He measured for a normal sized door and made suggestions for the replacement. He referred us to door supplier where we could see the actual doors and styles. Once it was decided what kind of door we wanted he placed the order and adjusted the door frame for the normal sized door. When the door was ready he picked it up and installed it.. He was most cooperative regarding the fact that this door was for an entryway to two apartments and had to be locked at night. He coordinated everything very well and in a most courteous manner
Description of Work: A new entry door was installed in the vestibule. It was painted inside and out and a new lock was installed. Jeff Diez ordered the door for us and installed it. He did an excellent job and was very attentive and neat about his work.

Beyond excellent. Jeff has integrity and a level of professionalism that is hard to find today. He takes great pride in all his work, no matter how small or big a job. He is extremely organized and trustworthy, which made it super easy for me. I literally could just disappear and come back to a finished job more beautiful than even expected. He excels in all areas, but I must mention his unique skill at meticulous painting. I still look at my walls and woodwork and smile at how beautiful they look. A perfectionist himself, you can be sure that you will get what you want. Jeff's prices are reasonable for the outstanding finish product you will receive. For all services...I would use only Jeff...no matter how long I'd have to wait on his schedule. It's worth the wait. Only downside----you and your house won't want to let me go when he's done! :)

Jeff was amazing! My house was broken into on Wednesday and the entire doorframe and door needed to be replaced. I called him Thursday and he met that day to create an estimate and then was able to come Friday the next day to install and do everything. He had a project earlier in the morning that went later than planned and he still came to my house and stayed late into the night to ensure that the doorframe and door were installed and secured for safety and that my other door was also secured for safety. He also suggested and installed some reinforcements for the door to make sure it can't be broken into again and installed peep holes in the door. The new doorframe and door look better than than it did before the burglary happened. The quality of service and professionalism was out of this world. He cleaned up everything once the project was complete and I have absolutely no complaints. I'm so thankful he was able to do this project on such short notice and I would highly recommend him to anyone and will absolutely use him again for any work I would need around my house.

Jeff was able to to get all these parts done before our sons graduation party at the end on May and it all looked great! I still wish Trex material came in colors for a large structure like a pergola, but that's not in the the contractors control.
Description of Work: Your Choice built the yard I was dreaming off. I now have a porch/deck, with angled stairs, a built in/attached pergola, and a privacy trellis in my yard. Although I didn't have any professional drawings for the yard of my dreams Jeff was able to incorporate every single one of my ideas/designs. The pergola is 20' x 10' and is about 13' up and most importantly it is anchored into the existing garage rafter and joust. The positioning of the existing pond made it necessary yo eliminate the 4th post and Jeff found a way to anchor it into the garage with minimal deconstruction and it looks like they were built together. The new trex porch and deck are perfect. While I would have liked the pergola in Trex (or trex like material) it only comes in white right now so we used a really nice grade of cedar. To complete the garden oasis look a 9'x12' privacy lattice was installed and anchored separately from the pergola.

Jeff at Your Choice Construction has been doing work in our home for years. He has always been upfront about cost and gives us many options, "Your Choice" on completing jobs. This helped control the costs. We were able to decide to spend more money in one place or another. He was always looking for the options. His research and consideration of each project is well thought-out and executed. Jeff is a professional from start to finish and one of the good guys!
Description of Work: The most impressive built in bookshelves and desks for my kids rooms. Jeff understood what I wanted from the bookshelves with virtually invisible bracing, yet sturdy shelves, and a large working desk. He matched the existing baseboard beautifully and the color stain was a dead-on match. He thought of everything with a cable/outlet port right through the top of the desk. And for painting, perfect! Even with dark colors the job is beautiful. He removed wallpaper borders, washed and prepared walls and ceailing like a professional. I always asked previous painters to wash the walls to before paiting, most thought it a waste of time. And the best part, he cleaned up like he was never even there. It was clean and ready to move right back in.

The first meetings with Jeff were good, and I hired him on the job after talking to two other contractors. HIs bid came in between the two other contractors bids at 44,000, with the exceptions of a few small things that choices needed to be made on. The other contractors bid out the project at 42k, minus the plumbing, which was roughly 8k, and the other came in at 52k for everything. I chose Jeff because he could start the soonest and finish the soonest, and he also had experiences in building luxury town homes. The project started out great, on time and running smoothly. About every other morning I would get a call from Jeff about something that needed a decision to be made on. Surprisingly to me, Jeff was billing me for these conversations. If we moved a dimension of the room, or a doorway, I would be charged. There was nothing even built in this space yet, the changes were just made on paper. Conversations with him totaled up to 470$. The real mess came halfway through the project. I got an invoice for the rest of the project. Along with the 44k original estimate, and the 7k estimate that he had already tried to charge in extras, i got an estimate of 35k to finish the project. As of the moment, my apt was unlivable, and i was paying rent as well as my mortgage. He claimed the estimate that he gave me was up to the drywall stage, and the 35k is for the finishing stage. I am now almost at double my original budget. When I asked him what happened, he claimed that he thought I knew the estimate was only for half of the work. He also admitted to me that he thought that i had no budget, so he treated it like a big construction job, where they charge for every little thing, and top dollar too if I can say. I also asked him "if he knew that it would be around 85k for him to do this job, and I got two other bids at 42+ and 52 all in, why I would hire him?" He had no answer. After our disagreement, I still needed to finish the project, so I had two other contractors tell me how much it was to finish. After I heard their estimates, I knew I was getting ripped off by Jeff. For example: Jeff's two bids on the tiling were 12,400$ and his second estimate was 12,800$; around 21$ per square ft. Something seemed wrong here, so I got two estimates myself from two very repuitable building companies; 6,200, and 5,800$ respectively; 10-11 per sq ft. This is when I fired Jeff. The building company that did the tiling finished off most of the work. The total price to finish it was about 19k, plus another 5k in mistakes that were made by jeff and his men. It cost me a lot more though. I had to pay an extra two months rent in another condo, and I had to miss a ton of work because I became the general contractor. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had to go through, and I was going to let bygones be bygones, until I had to buy a new bathroom ceiling fan this past weekend and I found out that the fan cost 7.50. I bought my home for 600k and tried to do renovations to upgrade my house and I have the cheapest fan money can buy, which is very loud. The fan is a small thing, but it makes me worried about the other things that jeff did if he was willing to spend so little on a fan. Is the plumbing using the correct materials? Are the walls made out of sturdy frames or cheap frames? For the amount of money that I was spending, I was expecting above average, if not top of the line materials, and I trusted Jeff was using them. I now have hired an inspector to assess the situation. Other little items that he did not finish were the drywall which has insulation sticking out at points and there isn't any in other places(10,000), and the plumbing had to be redone in both bathrooms because it was installed at the incorrect hight (8500). The total cost of my project was over 100k with all of the materials, and this is without knowing what else needs to be redone. I wanted a luxury apt, and Jeff made it seem as though he could do it, but I have come to find out that he was just cutting corners and trying to milk as much money out of me as possible. I am not out about 30k extra, and I am not totally satisfied with the outcome because of Jeff Diez. I am writing this because I would never recommend Jeff to anyone, and I hope that my situation does not happen again. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
