And I had a good experience with Penco. The issue I had require two visits to fix, but was not their issue pertaining to the second visit. It was a new issue that became apparent after their departure from the first visit. They fix the issue, they reduce the cost of the second visit, which was appreciated. The only issue I had was I made two credit card payments and their customer service both times called after the visit demanding payment until I had to show them proof that both payments went through. Again, no issue with the service whatsoever. It was just with their billing.

Angie estimated the project to be $230.00. Our bill $744.00. I do understand that I have a house with older wiring so I do get why it went over budget, but we wanted 2 outlets repaired. They replaced one and the work does not look professional to me. They left with out scheduling to fix the second outlet.

Had first floor re-wired, some new lighting fixtures and new eero wireless installed. Great service from first call throughout the whole project. Very happy with the results. Tom and George were fantastic and really know their stuff. Will have them back again soon to install new lighting in my basement. Highly recommend!

I had the worst customer service experience with Penco. Use another company. There are many other options. The Penco owner, Paul, was nice while we were purchasing a full-house generator (because it is a large-ticket item that makes them a lot of money), but when it comes to customer service, he takes the side of rude, confrontational employees over the customer. We had two gas leaks after our generator was installed and reinstalled by Penco. The first, they admitted. It was their fault, and they supposedly fixed it. However, I continued to periodically smell gas from that location. I finally called, and one of their employees came out and could not see a leak but smelled a faint gas smell, and he told me to call Nicor to check. Nicor found a leak at the generator line underground. Penco then sent the same guy who fixed the first leak was back out. He said he could not find anything, but miraculously after he spent a couple of hours at the generator, the leak was gone (but he says he did not do anything but dig a hole). Nicor came back and confirmed there was now no leak. But the Penco technician said the leak was never there and said he did not do anything to the line. He then accused me of not knowing what gas smells like â ¦ even though Nicor confirmed there was a leak. Perhaps he was covering up a mistake he made the first time he came to fix the first leak and wanted to correct it and make it look like it was never there, or maybe whatever he did while digging the hole fixed the connection, I do not know. But I do know he lied and twisted the words of the Nicor employee right in front of me as he spoke to the Penco owner on the phone. But when I called the owner to tell him this, he was extremely defensive and rude rather than being apologetic and customer-focused. This is unacceptable. There are so many other companies who do this work, there is zero reason to suffer through this kind of treatment with Penco.
