Joe said that Kitchen Bath Mart would only use good products and do good work, but that products come in multiple price ranges as do the clients budgets. Therefore he would work with us with levels of good, better or best depending on our
budget. It was clear that none of the choices would sacrifice quality of product or craftsmanship. We opted for something in the better to best range. The initial project was to complete one plumbed powder room and completely remodel a guest bath (exchange bath tub with shower and much more). What we liked is that Joe listened to what we wanted and worked with that. Only when we asked for his guidance did he expound, and each time we asked we were glad we did because we would not have envisioned the improved ideas he had. We were pleased that we could see products first hand in the Palatine and Niles
showrooms.
As the initial project moved along, we were so pleased with the design ideas, we decided to add remodel features to our master bath as well. It was a good experience from start to finish. We had no worries about execution and no worries that we would be saddled with problems. When any problem came up, Joe stepped in to say it would be taken care of. Today we look at our bathrooms and smile. We are happy with function and we are happy with design. There cannot be a better recommendation than that.
design was excellent.,

Our kitchen project overall went very well and took excactly 3 weeks to complete (as quoted) which is impressive. We had heard horror stories about kitchens taking upwards of a month or more to complete, but this was not the case for us.
The project not only was completed on schedule, but also on budget. There were no changes or suprises in the final quote. The contractor was punctual every day. Our garage where items were stored was cleaned up daily and debris was removed promptly by the K&B crew. The contractor cleaned up his work area daily, was careful in our house, worked efficiently, was knowledgeable, experienced, and hard working. There were a couple of small glitches along the way as with any project, but nothing that some communication couldn't clear up and if needed, K&B was responsive to any concerns and offered up a satisfactory remedy. When our cabinets were going to be delayed for a day or two, somehow K&B managed to get the manufacturer's semi truck to personally deliver the cabinets to our front door the day they were slated to be installed.
K&B was interested in feedback at the end of the job and came to inspect the project during the 3 weeks. Joe Dahmer at K&B was very helpful in making suggestions to our cabinet configuration which to this day we are happy to have taken his suggestions. He is very knowledgeable about their product offering and what it takes to make a kitchen functional. (In other words, he knows his business.)
Our kitchen was actually the last piece of our remodel. They also did 2 and 1/2 baths for us from 2008 to 2010. They have completely remodeled our entire townhouse and the workmanship is holding up very well.
"IN THE MATTER OF LABOR, SMALLER JOBS SUCH AS THIS ONE ARE BILLED ON A TIME AND MATERIALS BASIS. WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME AND A JOB LIKE THIS DOES NOT TYPICALLY HAVE ANY UNDISCOVERED PROBLEMS EXCEPT MAYBE A SUPPLY SHUT OFF WHICH IS FROZEN, IN WHICH CASE THE CUSTOMER WOULD BE BILLED FOR THE SHUT OFF AND THE LABOR. ALL IN ALL NOT A BIG DEAL IF IT DOES OCCUR. REGRETFULLY, SMALLER JOBS GET SCHEDULED BETWEEN THE FULL SCALE PROJECTS AND THEREFORE TIMING CAN BE DIFFICULT, I AM SURE THE CLIENT WOULD NOT WANT AN INSTALLER TO LEAVE HIS JOB IN THE MIDDLE OF CONSTRUCTION TO GO ON ANOTHER. WE DON'T START A JOB UNTIL PREVIOUS JOBS ARE SQUARED AWAY. WE WOULD NOT INTENTIONALLY STALL ON ANY CLIENT TO PUNISH THEM FOR NOT BEING AVAILABLE, IF WE DID, I DON'T THINK WE WOULD STILL BE AROUND. I AM GLAD THAT BESIDES SCHEDULING, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS OF GOOD QUALITY. SORRY FOR THE REPEATED CALLS, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT ONE BUT WE HAVE MADE SOME CHANGES SINCE 'O3 TO BETTER COMMUNICATE WITH OUR CLIENTS."
