They were in the process of moving to a new location different from above. They returned the snow blower slightly later than expected. We have not been able to get it to work since. I have tried calling them at least six different occasions at both numbers they give out on their website. It links to a message giving their new address and store hours and ends by stating you cannot leave a message. I used the contact info on their site to email them a request to have someone call and verify that we were starting the snow blower in a correct manner. I have received no response. They are a distance from us, and during what has been a horrific winter of backbreaking snow shoveling, I didn't feel it should be up to me to have to travel to their store. It doesn't appear to me that they really care about customer service.

Just in the nick of time too because it snowed 6 inches the day after I got it back. Starts up every time and runs like a champ.

Staff was pleasant & professional. Work done in a timely manner.
I guess that just about anyone can fix a lawn mower - & they did. What impressed me the most - he was honest. Yes, folks, H-O-N-E-S-T. Unfortunately, these days, I think that's such a major selling feature because I experience so many repair people (car repair ESPECIALLY) that are not as honest. We asked for a tune-up, and he let us know - before work was done - that all parts of a tune-up were needed; only some of them. I was very appreciative of this. He could have charged us more by telling us we needed more done - how would we know... we're not mechanics.
Thank you Frank's Lawn Mower Sales/Service. You will have our return business. And please don't change this practice... it is very much recognized & appreciated!

He sold me a lemon Toro lawn mower and spent 2 years unsuccessfully trying to fix it. The owner told me he would make it right but when the warranty ran out after 2 years, he dumped that piece of junk back in my lap. The mower either runs poorly or not at all.

I am sure their price wasn’t ridiculous and was under a hundred, but I just don’t remember. They are a small business and are personable. They know who I am and they tell me if there is something that I can do on my own. I get the feeling that they aren’t trying to get me. I have looked into buying a small blower with them. They sold winter and summer stuff. They were willing to give me a pretty good deal. I didn’t buy because we decided we didn’t want one, so I think, their price is pretty good. They are responsive. They are sometimes very busy and I have to wait more. If I go at the very beginning of season, and everybody has brought in their lawn mowers to tune-up, I might have to wait. They are honest about how long something might take, and where I am in the line. They keep it ready when promised. I will use them in the future.

I have yet to need their servicea recently but I would continue to use them. They are fairly expensive but they perform good work. You do have to wait, especially during the busy seasons, because they are so popular. I would recommend their services

Pick-up/delivery to/from Evanston was $15 for mower and $30 for snowblower--a great value and convenience for me. Frank's did all the work on the snowblower including the parts replacement and service. Frank's replaced the parts of the mower and cleaned the self-propel gears but determined it did not need the tune up which I had requested. Who tells you when a tune up is not needed! Nice! The delivery guy removed the units from my garage and put them back. He was efficient and great to work with. They returned the old parts that they had replaced. I know the labor--especially for the snowblower--was significant, and given the significant parts replacement as well, I was happy with the overall price of the work.

I took the lawnmower in for a late spring tune-up. They completed the servicing and called to tell me it was ready for pick-up. Since we live near a river and had recently had a threat of flooding, I asked Tim if I could pick up the mower in a few days. He said that was no problem. When I went to get the mower, Tim greeted me by name and asked how our flood situation was.
Since Tim took over this business, I have experienced nothing but excellent customer service and expert repair work. I have had my snow blower and lawnmower serviced there yearly. In fact, I purchased my current lawnmower (a reconditioned model) from him last year and am pleased with its performance. I can highly recommend this business for knowledgeable repair work and fair pricing.

He has made many promises in fixing my machine. The string to pull the handle back needed to be more taunt and the rotators would keep turning even when the safety was on, so I needed it repaired. They were going to replace the rotators, and I advised that it does take some time to get it started. I was told about a special they were running where I could get a tune up and all the other repairs done. I have had problems with the machine since they have touched it. They blower will die out and not plow snow. I showed them at their shop that it doesn't plow, and they cleaned a piece and said it should be fine. Now every time I bring it in they clean a piece, and the machine will just die after a few minutes. Issue still not resolves as of May 2011

Have not got a chance to use it since picking it up, but hope it works fine. People very nice at store, just feel prices are too high considering I paid $100 for the used unit. See what happens in November!

I had to use them in the past and was only fairly pleased with them but I saw in the newspaper that they had changed hands. I was willing to go back and give them another try. They did try to repair the old land mower, and they got it going. I brought it home and used it, and it conked out again. I took it back to them. The guy said that it was thoroughly beyond repair. I asked them about a rebuilt mower. He had a couple of them available. I looked at one and thought that the price was good. He fixed it up nicely before I took it. He gave me a tank of gas, and because it was a 4-stroke instead of a 2-stroke mower, he also gave me a can of oil. I needed to use oil periodically. He was very easy to work with. I am very pleased with them. I would rate them highly and would use them again.

I've used them before. It took quite a while but we had a bad winter. They do really good work. They are a pleasant company and they don't try to rip me off. The timing was the only problem but that was because it was winter.

Their est. was $140.00 and would take 2 weeks. Left on 12/09/2008 they did not respond to my calls until o1/05/2009 and said it would be ready that day. When i picked up the snowblower the charge was $210.46 because they did more than was requested with out being authorized to do anything more, nor did they at time try to contact me while they had the machine. The changed fuel filter did tune up and changed spark plug even though the blower started and ran ok when brought in.

It was for repair, replacement, and tune up of carburetor. The lawn mower is over 12 years old and is now running like new. They were very professional and very honest. They stayed in touch with us during the process. He was honest about the cost of the repairs and gave us what I thought was a good appraisal about how to go about the lawn mower.

Turned the repair around in just a couple of days Offered unnecessary commentary about my lack of preventive maintenance, etc. The estimate was dead on, though the price seems a little high. The mower runs great now.

Excellent. The cost was just below the estimate. The turnaround time was fantastic. They lifted the snow blower out of my van and returned it to the van so I didn't have to do the lifting.

When I took it in, the guy explained that it would either cost $50 to fix or $120, depending on what he found when he opened the lawn mower up. Based on my sloppy maintenance and laziness, I figured it would be $120. I was right. Turnaround time was less than a week during busy season. The job they did was excellent. Because I am so dismally lacking in any finesse about how to use machines, I had to take the lawn mower back three times to ask basic questions when the lawn mower wouldn't start. Not only did the guy show me what I was doing wrong and make a couple of adjustments, he did not charge me a dime. Mind you, if he had charged me, I wouldn't have cared because his explanations alone were worth a nominal fee. Most morons would know how to get the mower started on their own. But I am not just any moron. I have trouble changing light bulbs. If I ever need the mower repaired again, Frank's is the only place I'd consider taking it.

Great service. I delivered the mower, they helped unload and promised follow-up in 4-6 business days. They contacted me as promised. Mower works fine and my yard looks nice again. Nice turn around at a good price.
