ASAP VAN LINES

Horrendous. They told me to call them 7 days before I wanted them to move my stuff. -I called them repeatedly for a week, but no one returned my messages. Finally, the dispatcher (Bill) said that my shipment would arrive in about a week, however he could not give me a specific day. 5 days later, with no warning, they showed up with the wrong furniture! I called the moving company repeatedly the next 3 days - no one returned my messages. Finally, I got in touch with Bill in dispatch. Not only did he NOT apologize for the inconvenience and delay, he said that he had no idea when the next truck would leave for New York. He said that they had to wait for a full truck to be filled and that they had up to 21 days to do so. I told them that when I initially signed with them, I was told repeatedly that it would take no longer than 7 days. He said that legally, they were entitled to 21. He started yelling at me, and said that if I wanted the money back they would keep all of my stuff and not deliver it to me. He then proceeded to hang up on me. I called him back to find out when I should expect them so that I could take off work and he would not answer my question, and he hung up on me again. I called them repeatedly the next 3 days, because I had to take off work - no response to my voicemails. Finally, they arrived a week later and called me the morning of their arrival saying that they would be there by 9pm. We waited until 10pm, they said they would be there by 11pm. At 12:30am the mover arrived. Not only was it WAY too late to move in (we have a full building of neighbors), but there was only ONE mover. We told him to come back in the morning. He came the next morning and it took a long time, since he was alone. He dropped some of my stuff. We also had a few broken items and our couch had an oil stain on it! BEWARE A.S.A.P Van Lines!!!

I wouldn't use this company again, and I hope I can serve as an example as to why not to use them. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have used this company, and I would have told them to take the furniture off the truck. They tried to charge me for work not performed, and "scheduling" me after they had done a larger move was horrible. I was minutes away from calling the police when they threatened not to take my furniture off the truck unless we paid them. Had I not stayed behind at my apartment with the rest of my furniture in the hallway, I had to watch it because they didn't have enough room in their truck. I would have called the police.
