Heating season started and my forced air furnace failed. Of course all the HVAC repair companies were backlogged. RCM was available, came within hours, and the problem quickly diagnosed by the repairman (Jeff). The problem? My total bill was $675.00 for two 1 hour visits to replace an inducer motor. The OEM replacement part is $125 on-line. So, $550.00 for two hours of labor? I asked about the apparent high cost and was told was the cost of the part was responsible. When I pointed out the part was available on-line at $125, I was told that RCM has to pay more for a replacement inducer motor than I would. Having worked in the trades in my youth, I've never heard of a contractor paying more than the public. I don't know whether RCM's prices are fair, average or I got shafted, but I do know when I'm being fed a line. My advice is to get your furnace checked well before the season starts.

Please also take into account that serviceman got paid to [Member Information Removed] to & from you twice, both at 5pm and later, paid to pick the part up from the supply house & [Member Information Removed] to & from there. We were there the same day, during the coldest peak of the season, after another company canceled on you. We pay more for parts because we bought a direct replacement part specific for your make & model, not a universal "OEM" part online that is generic and doesn't always install properly to the wiring & board of your furnace board. RCM is licensed, bonded, and insured which all costs money as well. We take pride in our work, our warranties, and our customer service. I paid this company $5047 today. I noticed the water heater was close to the furnace and when a/c is running the water is gathering around water heater. I asked them a question about putting the water heater on blocks to avoid it getting rusty, (this was after they got their money). I am a lay person not a technician, and the technician should have brought this to my attention BEFORE he installed it, he says I should have noticed. There is a man called Bill, I told him I was thinking of stopping the check, he was obnoxious and started screaming down the phone and threatened to put a lien on my house if I did so, then hung up on me. I then tried e mailing Joe to do something to change the problem, he was just as bad. Never again. Sorry I ever had anything to do with them.

My AC condenser wasn't working-turns out I did need a new one. RCM gave me the best estimate in the fastest time possible for the work to be completed. I could not be happier. Randy in particular was fantastic. He came out for the service call,showed me why the unit was beyond repair,and checked up on the installation to make sure everything was top notch. I will be back when my furnace needs replacing.

RCM heating is a dealer for York furnace and AC (made in America). Bill the owner came out on a Saturday to give me a quote on a new high efficiency furnace. I was really impressed that he was willing to work with my schedule. He thoroughly answered all the questions that I had that day. He resized the furnace to my house. The old furnace that was installed was oversized. The new smaller does a better job of heating and keeping it warm than the old one did. The technicians did a good job with the installation. They were careful not to track anything in on the carpet or scratch the flooring. They made sure everything was working correctly before they left. Technicians were also knowledgable. They aswered any questions I had. The metal work the technicians did to connect the new furnace to the duct work was great. Everything looks great. So far the furnace is working great. I haven't had any issues. I would definitely recommend these guys.

I had RCM out to do a furnace maintenance and check before winter, they identified several cracks in the heat exchanger in my old (29 years) furnace. Bill the owner came by to provide some options. Since the air conditioner was the same age, I thought it best we replace both at the same time. Bought York equipment, made in America, ten year warranty. I specifically did NOT want Carrier since they're moving operations from Indianapolis to Mexico. Bill identified all the energy saving rebates that were available, he'd take care of all the paperwork, saved me from paying up front and waiting for the reimbursements. Jeff and Rory did the installs, great guys, very professional. Worked non-stop from 8am to nearly 6pm to get it done. Wrestling the 30 inch old furnace out of the basement without damage was challenging at best. These guys do good work, they clean up after the work is complete, made sure everything was the way it should be - as if it was their house they were doing the install in. They're prompt, very professional. Bill is a great guy as well. No BS, identifies the options you have, no hard sell. Provides opinion and guidance when asked. Make no mistake a new 5 ton AC and 96+ efficiency furnace for a 3000 square foot house is not cheap, but I felt the price was more than fair, especially when Bill did all the legwork on the rebates that were available. Would I hire them again? You bet I would, they're my new "go-to" HVAC contact. I'd recommend them anytime. Oh and it's a small thing considering the money spent, but they reimbursed me for the maintenance service call too. RCM is a company that wants your business, and shows you you've made the right decision in the quality work they do.

Had a great, GREAT experience with Jeff on Friday, May 6th. Our normal technician is Randy but he was unavailable and I have to say that Jeff provided the same terrific service we are accustomed to receiving. A mouse burned out our air conditioning capacitor which we did not know until Jeff conducted the cleaning of the air conditioner condenser.  

Jeff had the part on his truck. He got rid of Mr. Mouse, replaced the capacitor and did a thorough review and check of our system. Luckily we had just renewed our Peace of Mind Program so we saved $20 on the part. Took the pinch out of the replacement a bit! Bill, just wanted you to know that we really appreciate your company and the fact that your Technicians are apparently very well trained and competent. This attitude comes from the top so thank you for being the kind of businessman that you are!

I had left town on the President day weekend. I turn down heat to before leaving.  Upon return on President's day the temperature was down to 45 degrees in the house. Much lower that I had set it. I went down to the furnace and reset it by shutting off the power and turning it back on. Although the exhaust fan would run and the furnace would ignite the blower fan did not run. This caused the unit to shut down, I looked into the view port and could see a red light flashing four times in a row. I called RCM and Bill answered right away. I explained to him what was happening.  He said he would send someone out ASAP.  Randy showed up about an hour later. After some analysis he discovered that a thermistor  had burnt out. Being President's day there were of course no parts supply stores opened.  He said his boss Bill may have a replacement themistor  at his house. Randy went to Bill's house and they replaced the burnt out thermistor. Randy returned that night and replaced the blower fan control unit. He said he would come back the next day and replace with an original  replacement part which he did. He also brought out additional parts for known issues with the furnace and replace them no additional charge.  I have been working with RCM for 6 or 7 years and have always been happy with the service and the people who supply it. I cannot recommend RCM enough.  They are customer focused.
