I am lucky enough to have met Robert Strahan over 10 years ago when I moved to Naperville. If you want to know why I use Robert Strahan and Strahan Construction I can some it up in one short story. We had our sump pump go out on Labor Day 2018 during a downpour and called thought maybe Robert is around the area. He was out of town for the Holiday and said he was about 30 miles away but that he will be over in 45 minutes. He came in assessed the situation about 7:45 PM ran out to his farm to grab a replacement at 8 PM at night and completely fixed the situation by himself by 10 PM. I really can't say much more than that... Robert is "throw-back" builder/contractor. He is commitment to doing great work and helping making his customers happy no matter the issue. As his customer, I now consider myself to be his friend. We have used him for roofing, bathroom, basement, painting etc and he is 100% my go to on all things that are related to my home.

Strahan Construction redid our entire basement. They provided top notch consulting, electrical work, new lighting, and drywall work, as well as sourced and installed excellent cabinetry. Part of the rework was the design, build, and finish of a custom bar which turned out exactly how we wanted. Strahan also put us in contact with a flooring provider (epoxy covering for concrete) which turned out beautifully. We would definitely hire them for additional work.

Robert is an awesome contractor and great person to work with. My wife received a referral from our neighbors that he was able to get their roof replacement covered by their Allstate insurance company caused by recent hail damage. He worked with our Country Company to get our roof replaced. Strahan Construction is on Country Company’s preferred contractor list. After we got approved for a new roof, Robert replaced the whole roof in about a week (but I was expecting about 3 weeks). The whole roof replacement took about 2 days. Great workmanship and done right, no leaks so far. Our insurance adjuster required some additional invoice information to process the final reimbursement for the roof, and I sent that information over to Robert. He got the information together and sent it over to the adjuster the next day. We received the final check in about a week. He was honest and transparent about the whole process. If you want it done right the first time with zero hassle, then I would highly recommend Strahan Construction.

Very very pleased with the quality of work and the professionalism and communication. Robert was present to meet with our insurance adjuster. He went on the roof and reviewed all work that needed to be completed with our adjuster. He made sure we understood exactly what the process was going to be. On the day the work was being done he again was present to make sure all our landscape was protected. We have had multiple people stop by to complement our roof and ask who our roofer was.

I had my roof replaced. I was charged 11k for what other contractors said should have been 8k. I have emailed and texted Robert Strahan for several weeks to get a final receipt for the work done and warrenty paperwork for the roof. He has not responded. I need to submit the paperwork for my insurance company to release final payment. Buyer beware of seemingly good guys who are "on your side"

Work was completed in a timely manor. Robert was very personable and explained everything that needed to be done meticulously. Supervision of the working crew was frequent and well timed. Contact for inspection prior to installation was coordinated with our insurance company and Robert was present when that took place. Cleanup was fast,efficient. We felt the cost was more than fair and in addition to that Robert replaced a roof fan in our attic and shared in formation to maintain and get the best use out of it. It's been great, he's very good. He almost always wins the bid. Good prices, he's very involved to make sure it's done right. Starts and finishes quickly. He's really nice.

They were terrific. They were great. They were fine with the changes we had to make, and he worked with me to good design decisions. He added a lot of finishing details that are amazing. Thank goodness. They did all the stamped concrete around our pool.

Rob & his son did great work on two jobs that we had. Although both jobs were relatively low-dollar work, they responded promptly and did the work in a professional manner. We will definitely reach out to them in the future for larger as well as smaller projects. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended. I have several nail pops on the ceilings around the house. I was concerned whether there’s any structural issue, so I called Robert. He came to my house the next day. After inspecting all the existing issues, he told me there’s no structural problem, and explained to me why the existing issues had happened. I am very relieved. In the end, he didn’t even charge me.

Strahan Construction is one of the best construction companies that I have ever dealt with.  He was straightforward and very honest.  He explained what needed to be done, and his prices beat the competitors.  What impressed me the most was his honesty, and that he came back to make sure that his work was done with excellence.  I would highly recommend him in the future for roofing repairs and home construction projects.

Robert Strahan and his team did an excellent job. He went far beyond expectations and his attention to quality was superior to previous experiences with other builders. We could not be happier with the finished job. His crew was extremely courteous and punctual. They are a great group of guys and I always felt comfortable with them in our home. We met with a number of different builders and found that we had a very different experience dealing with the owner of the company rather than a project manager or sales person. Robert also has a ton of experience and brought a great perspective and vision to our project. He's very creative and added a lot of unique features that made our basement unique and different. We absolutely love the finished product and count Robert as a new friend. We will absolutely use him a gain for future projects.

It went very well. Electrical: I had a new home generator installed in stalled. The piping for the gas line was very neat and squared up, the generator was on a concrete slab and dressed out with some small river rock around the edging. The electrical was run under the house so you don't even know it is there. It looks very much like you would see in the Generec picture. They also installed 3 new outside lights on the house with a switch in my utility room for controlling them. I had some wiring in my garage that was never done right by a previous contractor that they corrected and add a couple of three way switches to control my garage inside light. Very neat professionally installed. I had a loading problem in my shop which I explained to them and they added a new circuits that alleviated the problem. The window that was installed in the kitchen looks great, but what really made it nice was looking at it from the outside. I had it wrapped so I would not have to paint. I thought it would just be some flat metal wrapping but it was bent and designed in such a way that it looks like part of the window. I was very impressed. The kitchen was totally gutted. A new floor was put in that extended into my game room. It was a ceramic plank board look with small grouting between the planks. There were a couple spot that looked like the grout didn't quite fill in but was immediately taken care of. The kitchen electrical had new circuits put in to handle all of the appliances placing the major ones on separate circuits. The kitchen outlet was recessed so the refrigerator goes completely up against the wall the plumber did the same thing for the water to the refrigerator. Being recessed looks a lot better. He also installed cans lighting and under the cabinet lighting all with LED's and dimmer switches. After the cabinets were order mentioned about installing an additional counter and cabinet between the game room and kitchen. He looked at it and was able to do it. If anything came up along the was he was always willing to make the change or addition. Had crown molding some in the game room and chair rail. I was all mitered neat and tight. Looks great. One of the hardest thing to do was picking out the granite counter top. He showed us some sample pieces but was having trouble visualizing them as your counter so he took me to the granite warehouse to pick out exactly which one I wanted. That was amazing to look at all that granite and then try to decide on which one you want. I had him install a new roof which should have been just take the old shingles off and put new ones on but he discovered the wood damage around the vents going through the roof as well as below one of the windows. He put in new window and added water shield around all the edges to prevent future damage. He was able to do it in one day and it looks great. They went around the yard to clean up and the next day came back to make sure everything was ok. I had the plumber put in a high efficiency water heater to get rid of the vent which was one of the areas I had leaks from previously. The water heat is installed in the garage on a platform. When the gas man came around to put a new meter in when he checked every thing he said the platform was suppose to be higher. ( it had been that way for years) When I told Robert he immediately had the plumber raise it up to code. The plumber was also able to install a recirculation pump. I told Robert about uses so much water to get hot water to the second floor. Since the ceiling in the kitchen was mostly removed he suggested the pump which now has provided hot water much quicker reducing the water bill. The one thing I say is that he was the most accommodative person I have ever worked with. He was always trying real hard to make you happy and if you bring something up he is more than willing to try to make it the way you want it. I would highly recommend him and will definitely use him for any future jobs. Everyone that worked with him were all very courteous and professional.
