S & E Roofing

Tim replaced our fascia a couple of years ago, so I asked for another quote for full roof replacement and installing a bath vent in the roof. The quote was one of the lowest using a good quality shingle. I must of asked at the right time because we were able to schedule the roof replacment within the week. Tim was very patient as we went back and forth with shingle colors. The work went very smooth. Because of the pitch of the roof, it took a day longer than expected. The roof looks excellent. His team cleaned ok, there were some big pieces, but Tim helped clean the metal nails and staples on the final inspection. It was a very good experience.

I am changing my rating from A to D for one simple reason. I have a warranty issue in year 7 of a 10 year warranty. I had a new roof and new gutters and downspouts installed 7 years ago. One of the downspouts blew off the house in a winter storm this year. I have made about 8 calls to get this warranty issue fixed with no response whatsoever. I feel bad about changing this rating, because I was very satisfied with the original work, but I cannot leave an A rating in place when I cannot get a response to a request for warranty work. I would like to be able to change the rating back, but I need a better response than zero.

I am writing this review 5 years after the work was done. The work has stood the test of time. No problems with the roof or gutters since installation. That's just what anyone wants when selecting a contractor for work expected to be good for 25 years or more.

Tim Cone was extremely responsive, provided quote in a timely manner, and delivered on all promises, including on-time completion with high quality work.

We had S & E Roofing replace our roof four years ago, in 2013. To match the shingles on our upper roof, he used IKO brand shingles. The shingles turned out to be defective. After three years they began curling badly, most likely because they never sealed. I contacted Tim Cone and requested he come out and take a look. He did and agreed they had failed. Tim submitted the warranty claim for us, with samples and photographs, and said he would honor the warranty regardless of IKO's decision. Last week he completely replaced the roof, tearing off the defective shingles and replacing everything. The roofers were professional, courteous, and took their time to do the job correctly. Clean up was thorough. We are still waiting to hear from IKO. If you're re-roofing your house and you want someone who has integrity and honors their promises, S & E Roofing is your best bet.

Tim Cone and his crew were great. They started on-time and finished just about when they predicted. They were clean (they ran their magnet at the end of every day and picked up all the debris) and paid special attention to mt wife's garden and plants. Tim had me approve any additions (like the rotted boards and the replacement plywood on the roof) and ge didn't really try to up-sell me at all. The foreman (Shane) looks just like Nick Nolte and is quite a character but very insistent on quality. I had them put new LeafGuard gutters on as well as my previous gutters were always an issue with leaves and tree debris. They did a great job. Although they miscalculated the amount of gutter-toppers, they returned to complete the job in two days. Project is done now and I'm very happy.

S&E did a great job. I dealt with Tim Cone mostly via email, and he was very responsive, providing information and adjustments to the contract. The best part is they were quick to come back and fix some minor issues with the installation. In my book this is a sign of a solid company. The roof and gutters are still performing 3 years later.

Solid job on the roof replacement. Completed on time with no issues. We had some minor issues that were quickly repaired. Subsequently, I've had some additional minor leaks. I began calling the contractor in 2015 over the course of 3 weeks with no response. I had assumed he went out of business. I was surprised when I saw an active listing for S&E Roofing on Angie's List this year. I have attempted to reach him over the past 2 weeks with at least 4 phone calls with no response. I've even offered to pay him for additional services that need to be performed. At this point, I am in the process of trying to obtain service from an another contractor. I could not recommend this contractor. Any warranty received is worthless. You would be better to go with a large regional or national contractor where you have more leverage.

I called because I had a leak in my roof that caused significant damage inside my house. Previously, I had 5 different people out to repair the leak who were not able to fix it. So when I called, I had the intention of getting a new roof. One thing I liked right away was that Tim said that he was not going to replace a roof if he didn't need to. If he can repair it, he will. After he came out to look, he gave me a proposal for a new roof and a repair - and guaranteed his work either way. He said that if it leaks again after he leaves he would come back free of charge and also said that he would be embarrassed if that were to happen. That gave me peace of mind and confidence that I needed after having so many failed repairs. 

I ended up getting the full replacement since I was starting to lose singles and my roof was 21 years old. Tim and his team did a great job and finished in about a day and a half. I am very pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

Tim Cone who is the owner personally supervised and performed the work. They were punctual professional and extremely thorough with all the work. They replaced fascia wood and wood on roof with no extra charge. They cleaned up everyday and left the area as they found it. They were courteous and extremely professional. We were selling our home and had negotiated a price with the buyer baseed on the bid from Tim. Despite the fact that there was damaged wood beyond the estimate Tim kept the project on budget even though there could have been extra charges. I would absolutely recommend S & E Roofing. Wonderful. Great Job. It was such a pleasure doing business with Tim.

Tim (owner) and his team were true professionals that got the job done right the first time, on time, and within budget. I would recommend S & E roofing to anybody who needs their home roof replaced. I liked that Tim was honest/upfront with his pricing, and he was quick to turnaround with an answer to any question I had.

They arrived on time as promised. Everything was cleaned up every day at the end of the work day. The whole job was completed in 3 days just like promised. After install of gutters both of the corners on the gutters weren't installed correctly and couple of the lines of shingles weren't straight. Brought it to Tim's attention he said he would come back and fix it in a week. A week later showed up and fixed both mistakes as promised. Also found couple of other lines that did look good, told Tim when they came back and he took care of it right away. Out of all the estimates we received S & E had the best price and the best warranty. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to do their roof or gutters.

I had a "mystery" leak causing damage to my bedroom ceiling. Water was leaking in somewhere and running along a joist, creating multiple stains on the drywall.  Over a period of two months, a couple of roofing companies, a gutter repair company and a handyman service could not find nor fix the issue.
Getting desperate due to the quickly approaching cold weather season (and more damage being done to my ceiling - to the point where a bucket was needed on my nightstand to catch the water draining via a nail hole), I found S & E Roofing on Angie's List.   Tim came out within two days of contacting them and made a logical guess to where the problem was.
 S & E came out the next week and repaired a "valley" on my roof at a very reasonable cost.  After several hard rains in November, there is no more leak, no more damage occurring and the bucket is back in the garage.  I was impressed with the quick response and I'm thankful that Tim was able to find the problem and fix it.  I highly recommend S & E Roofing.

Removed gutters, soffet and fascia.  Removed all waste.  Installed fascia and soffets.  Installed gutters and downspouts.  Directed downspouts the direction I wanted.  Looks good generally.  The down spouts seem to end a little high, but that might be to ensure that they drain.  Most downspouts by roof drains using curved spouts except for one in the back and kind of out of the way.  They seemed to just angle the downspout without using curved downspouts.  They have been working great so far. 

Had a great experience with Tim!  He was good to work with during the proposal process as he took time to throughly answer questions on the process and materials used.  His costs were in-line with other quotes, but felt he did a far superior job.  He was on-site every day during the estimated (and actual) 5 days of work.  His crew took their time which is representative of the work they did.  Much better than the storm chasers who ripped and replaced similar size roofs in a single day.  Tim and crew made special attention regarding ice barriers, valley's, flashing (around the perimeter of the house and chimney area), and gutters.  At the end of each day, they would clean the area and use their rolling magnet to pick up any lose nails.  Given we only picked up one nail with our riding tractor after they finished is a testimony to their thoroughness.  Not a bush or plant that surrounded the perimeter of the house was damaged, once again a testimony to the quality of their work.  They are a small company and need to work you in their schedule, which I was fine with as it was important to me that no subcontractors were used.  They started early Monday morning and were completed by Friday later afternoon as scheduled.  I would definitely use S&E roofing if attention to detail in important.

S&E Roofing did an incredible job in replacing our 3,311 sq ft roof! It looks beautiful and you can tell how great the quality of work is. Tim was an absolute pleasure to work with and was extremely responsive whenever I emailed him with questions and extra details. He had the most reasonable pricing of the six roofing businesses I worked with for estimates. We were able to choose our shingles outside of what he carried and he provided them at no extra cost. His crew was professional and thorough. The job only took two days and it was quick and well cleaned up after. They paid attention to detail inside the attic and even created extra ventilation. Thank you again for a job well done and a great experience. I would highly recommend them!

They were outstanding. They were the only one that protected my Koi pond, I have a pond in the backyard and when hard work to do and they put covers over so that they didn't get anything into the pond and I was very grateful for that.

Have been through several rains and one very heavy one and the leak has been fixed.
