We worked with Derrick and his team at Preferred Painting several years ago and were very pleased with the work they did at that time. We needed to have the living room painted and I got a hold of Derrick and WOW...another GREAT job! So pleased with the work that was completed the Saturday before Christmas by Roberto - a true professional! He is absolutely meticulous! He arrived early and was focused on the entire job from set up to clean up! We will continue to use Derrick and his Preferred Painting team in the future...like soon as there is more to be done. We believe in their work and what we believe to be a fair price. Super pleased...again! Thanks Derrick and Roberto!!!!

First off, it should be said that prior to resorting to a negative review, I've been trying to get Derrick to take care of finishing work from July and this is my last ditch effort. The quality of the work that was done was very good, I have no issues with that but I do have issues that my master bathroom ceiling is not finished yet and he's been extremely slow to resolve this. Derrick has been responding to my text but only when I reach out to him and I've been doing that since July. Maybe just hoping that I would forget about it, which I probably would've if it wasn't for my wife asking me when is this getting fixed everyday. A little bit about the process. I never received a formal quote because of these high reviews on yelp but I should've had him come here and do it but this was a new house purchase and I was juggling two homes. Derrick made it easy because he quoted off of pictures and didn't need to meet. Abraham was the one who managed the work and was thorough, but they took a lot longer than expected because some crew members didn't show up - it happens. I had a vanity painted in the wrong color and my large master bathroom ceiling was never redone. The vanity might be a miscommunication so I can deal with that but the ceiling is different. Derrick never came to our house to do a final walk through and I shouldn't have payed him without seeing it, however, my daughter was in the hospital (shot him a text proving it) and couldn't do a final walk through so sent $5,600. Once again, had no reason not to trust it wouldn't get resolved but that's on me and I also didn't want his crew members not to get paid as they rely on that. This is where things got bad as Derrick never once came to my house to review the work that was done, Abraham was his eyes and ears. He has responded but there has been no actions. Now after this review, he could tell me just to pound sand for a negative review but I think this is a legitimate reason to complain and people should know. I'm not saying the company is bad at all and this probably an outlier based on the previous reviews but not stepping up to make things right is how I just companies since things won't always go as planned. He agreed it needed to be done from the attached text but hasn't and I shouldn't have to wait months and he should fit me in. At this point, I'm probably going to have to get it done from someone else and incur more cost. My credit card company is going to put a small hold but probably not worth him even coming back out. What a mess.

Abraham, Luis, and the rest of the crew did an incredible job repainting the exterior of my home. They took the time to carefully scrape and sand the wood, masked all the windows and doors carefully, and replaced pieces of old, rotted wood. They also did an exellent job cleaning up. The house looks fantastic.

I used Preferred Painting for an exterior job. I was specific in what was needed. There was some wood rot with my wooden window sills and frames that needed to be repaired and there was to be the usual exterior work: caulking and painting. First the wood rot was never fixed, it was painted over. I had them come back and repair the three places I knew to look but I have since found several other places. There was no caulking or preparation of the window frames or the sills. Currently the paint is flaking off. The painters also painted the inside track of my windows. I did not ask them to do that. When it came time to open my windows I could not do so. They were painted shut. Even though I had allowed a day and a half for the paint to dry. I contacted Preferred about this, sent my address to them and explained the problem. I knew that I needed them to come out and open them from the outside, which I could not do unless I was on a painters ladder. He assured me he would have someone out in a day or two. I followed up two days later to remind and ask about it and was put off. I have not heard from him again and had to get the windows open myself. It was something that would have been very simple for one painter to do with a ladder to reach upper windows. As a customer with an issue due to the work of his employees he should have taken care of that for me and in fact assured me he would but it was just lip service. The service was deplorable. I would not recommend them to anyone..

Derrick's consultation and ideas prior to starting the job were very helpful.  Price was very reasonable and job was started and finished within time limits given.  Painters were professional, on-time, put in a full days work and cleaned up nicely after each days work.  Paint job is excellent and services were exceptional.  I have already recommended this company to several family and friends some of which have already used them.

What a difference a professional paint job can make. We recently purchased a home that had very neglected painting in the interior. As a result, there was a a lot of prep work required. The company didn't skimp one bit on prep work, and the resulting job looks fantastic. Derrick and the other gentlemen made the inside of the house look almost completely brand new. The cabinets are a night and day difference, and we are very pleased with the new feel of our kitchen. Additionally, Derrick returned my calls or texts quickly, gave me a fair price, and was completely professional in all aspects. I'd highly recommend his company and him personally for any painting needs.

Soon after they came out and finished painting our home the paint started to fall right off in big chunks. We could not get them to do anything about it even though we had a guarantee on the work. We took them to the Better Business Bureau to no avail. We went to court to no avail. We ended up having to hire another very good painter to come out and redo all of the work.

CAME TO DO WORK THAT HAD BEEN DONE POORLY BY ANOTHER COMPANY. THEY CAME IN A DAY AND FINISHED IT THE SAME DAY. EXCELLENT WORK, AND THEY WERE PROMPT & PROFESSIONAL.
