NORTEK ENVIRONMENTAL INC

4/14/2021 I went through my home appliance repair company to have my AC recharged with freon which I do every spring as I have a small leak. The company's name is "Cinch", I pay them around $55 a month for appliance repair policy. I paid the $120 "deductible". The guy from Norteck showed up, took a look at my AC, took pictures, then he told me I need to pay him an additional $120 to clean the AC as it looks dirty. He said he cannot check the AC until he receives the additional $120 cleaning fee. He also said that he will send the photo of dirty AC to the company if I do not pay him the cleaning fee and that the insurance company will deny my claim on the basis that no routine maintenance performed . He was prepared if I refused to pay the additional $120. I obvously dropped the insurance company and will be seeking legal action against both Nortek and Cinch. If this happned to you, please post a reply so we can proceed with a class action legal solution.

My A/C was out and I called 1st co that said they could be here. Was told unit “not fixable” but for 5k, they could have me a new unit that day. I then called Nortek who came out for “2nd opinion”, should have called them 1st!! Less than $200.00 dollar fix. I NEVER write reviews but I had to!! Nortek saved me THOUSANDS and during a pandemic and health issues in my home, I could never SCREAM NORTEK’s praises enough!! HIRE THEM!!

Replaced a part that is under manufacturer warranty but I was charged for it and I was asked to pay in advance for the year worth of maintenance of $ 200.00 then, later on, changed my mind and wanted to cancel the maintenance where I was told no you cannot cancel maintenance even though the written agreement in the agreement does not state anywhere that it is none refundable cancelable or none refundable. Then sent me a check for $69.00 and was cheated of a $129.00 of an agreement that it is useless to me. I advise others not to sign up for such a maintenance agreement by this NORTEK co because you might end up screwed by them like what happen to me.Now I have to go court inorder to get my money that they owe me.Beware !

They were great however there was some minor complications the new heater did not work with my old zoning board and dampers we’re also screwed up so had to replace everything however my ear has never worked as good as this one they were very professional and did a great job .

They rearranged the schedule to fit into a very specific date and time on short notice. I received a full report onsite (pricing came the next business day).

It was a great experience. They always kept great communication with updates on when the products were coming out and when they would be coming out. They did exactly what they said, they delivered a quality product and equally great service. I would use Ron and Lisa in a heartbeat over and over.

Great. They were on time and wore booties over their shoes. Which was nice. They went above and beyond with everything and took the time to show me and explain in detail what the problems were and offered the best way to fix them. Their prices are more reasonable than other companies I have tried and their maintenance is more thourough. Ron is very professional and I was very comfortable having him in my home and business.

Nortek did a great job in expediting the replacement. Because of the prior installation, significant preparatory work was required to redo water/drainage and electrical to change to a vertical setup.  Despite the Holidays, we were able to get all the work done and Nortek installed the furnace in 2 days before new years.  All the ducting had to be redone to accomodate the new system and after a few days I can tell that the system is performing very well.  During the time we were without heat on the top story Nortek provided space heaters to make things a bit more comfortable for us.  So we were able to complete the replacement before the cold weather hit - thankfully.
They are not the cheapest HVAC out there but I know they will do the job right. I am very satisfied.

They are good. I have been a customer with them for 2 and a half years now. The scheduling has been good and it is easy to get an appointment with them.

They were at our home 2x. The first time, they cleaned our furnace. After they left, it was making a strange noise. He came back and found we needed a new inducer. They installed it and it worked well. They were very courteous and professional, and used the booties too. The price was expensive, but in line with everyone else.

I've had Nortek out 2 or 3 times before for minor issues and/or maintenence on a 30-year A/C and a 50-year old furnace. They are always professional and do a good job. However, when it came time to purchase a new A/C and furnace, I felt that they didn't have too many options, so I researched and found 2 quotes that beat theirs by $2,000. I think every business should be able to profit, but $2,000 above the other 2 exact same quotes for the exact same product and install was not acceptable. It should be noted that I asked at least twice about the cost and where could there be savings (i.e. doing both the A/C and furnace at the same time, etc.) and their final cost was still the $2,000 above the other companies. Also, to be fair to them, if you do your research first, you have a more accurate estimate when speaking to subsequent companies.
Last note, after spending a considerable amount of time going over the options with me (which I appreciated), they never called back to see if I wanted to purchase the A/C and furnace from them. All in all, a good company, but not as competitive or as knowledgable (compared to the other companies that I spoke with) in my opinion.

Our old furnace needed replacement. Contractor came out promptly and provided a complete explanation of my options and what it would cost. I chose a high efficiency furnace and any question I had regarding the unit or install was answered to my satisfaction. There was a typo on the quote regarding which unit I was buying and after one quick phone call an updated quote was faxed to me by the business owner. They were very open throughout the process.
The installation/testing went smoothly and they have followed up with phone calls and mailers. Very happy with their efforts and feel that I got very good value. Would definitely use again.
