Pretty well, we did a couple of test reels and they looked good on DVD. Based on that we converted my in-laws family videos from when my wife was kid and combined our project with a co-workers. We recommended them to another friend, who had his parents' collection transferred. This type of work is not cheap. I looked around and found other places, that did it for less, but I went with Memory Keepers, because of the reviews on Angie's List. 15 cents/ft is about right from what I found. Also, I did not want to risk my father-in-law's collection and become the family pariah, if we went cheap and the film got damaged. Keep your originals in a safety deposit box and burn your own DVDs for the extended family, this is the family Christmas present this year.

I was told that that DVDs would be ready within two weeks; they were ready in just over a week. When I picked up the DVDs, I noticed a typo on the cover of one. I asked if I could have replacement covers mailed to me (I'd ordered three copies of this DVD). The representative said that the DVDs themselves would contain the typos and asked if he could retain the VHS tape to redo them. They were redone, and all materials were mailed to me at no additional cost.

Very good. It took about 1.5 weeks for them to complete the transfer to 2 DVDs. I did not get an estimate, but the cost was much less than I expected. The quality is excellent.

Contacted Memory Keepers and described the amount of film and condition. Jay Parker was able to give me an estimate of time and price. The job was completed in half the time estimated and at the cost estimate. The resulting DVD sets were actually BETTER than the film version using my old projector. I saw clips that previously were almost unviewable suddenly come to life.

Job 1: The DVD is awesome!! These were films my dad had made when my parents went on their honeymoon, almost 60 yrs ago. I got to see a few seconds of my great grandmother, who died before I was born. Jay s very professional & knowledgeable. My cherished & irreplaceable film never left their location & was returned to me on a clean new reel (the old empty metal reel was returned, too). Jay patiently explained everything. I trust Memory Keepers to treat my old movies as if they were their own, & have already taken in more old film to be transferred. Their website is very informative: memorykeepersonline.com. I know the price may seem high at first, but once done, the DVD lasts forever & is accessible to view (unlike the old films). These folks are great! Job 2: This is the 2nd time I've used this business & they never fail to do an excellent job. Jay takes excellent care of our treasured memories & creates a durable & accessible way to enjoy & share these family heirlooms.
